IE10 HKLM second home page does NOT work

$

0

I was asked to set a second IE home page. We are using the "Start Page" registry key under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main to set the IE home page. When I add REG_MULTI_SZ  "Secondary Start Pages" and assign a URL to it under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main, the second IE home page does not open.

If I delete both of the reg keys above and recreate them under HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main "Start Page" and "Secondary Start Pages" the second IE home page opens.

Windows 7 Enterprise x86/x64, IE10 created with IEAK.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

How To Stop Internet Explorer 11 Prompting To Display Full-screen Mode

$

Is there a way to stop the desktop version of Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 8.1 from prompting whether you want a website to display content in full-screen mode?

When it displays the prompt "Do you want to view youtube.com in full screen?  (Press Esc to exit.)", if you select 'Always Allow', it doesn't permanently remember this setting, as it will be reset when the browsing history is deleted.  Surely there must be a setting somewhere to prevent it from displaying this prompt every time?

And I said hey, what's going on...

Please Help!!! New Users cannot access to https sites via IE11 on Windows 7 after kb2925418 install.

Please Help!!!

Before install  kb2925418 on Windows 7 with IE 11 we can see in registry:[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]
"WarnonZoneCrossing"=dword:00000000
by default.

After install kb2925418 "WarnonZoneCrossing" change value to dword:00000001 for new user profiles. New Users, whose profiles was create after install kb2925418 cannot access to https sites. Warnig message "WarnonZoneCrossing" is not displayed. Users can see a white sheet instead of a page https://microsoft.com, for example. Old Users, whose have created profiles before install kb2925418, still have "WarnonZoneCrossing"=dword:00000000 and have no issue access to https sites.

In file "C:\Users\Default\ntuser.dat setting "WarnonZoneCrossing" is not listed before or after install kb2925418. Where does it come to users profiles?

Why Warring message is not displayed if  "WarnonZoneCrossing" = dword:00000001?

Please check this issue and fix kb2925418!!!

We would like to run IE8 on Server 2012 R2 as a RemoteApp to clients.  We have client computers running Windows 7 but still need access to IE8 for older applications.  We are currently routing them through a Citrix server but would like this as a remote desktop service.

Fail to download file with explorer 10 while explorer 9 and other browsers succeed to download the same file

I try to download file from management website of switch device. The file size is 11.66K.

The webserver is GoAhead, OS is windows7 and explorer version is 10 (it also happens with explorer 11). The server is using Transfer-Encoding: chunked.

After I download the file, I get pop-up message from the browser “Do you want to open or save running-config.txt from 1.1.1.11?”

If I press the save/open button I get message “running-config .txt couldn’t be downloaded”. If I press the retry button the file is downloaded successfully.

When I used meddler to debug the problem, it didn’t occur and the file was downloaded successfully.

I took capture of successful download (with meddler debugger) and  another capture of download that raised “couldn’t be downloaded” message, but I didn’t see any difference between the requests and the responses. I also made sure the last chunk “0” was not missing in the response and it wasn’t.

Please note, I also tried many suggestions given to other users that reported similar problem – restart explorer, remove add-ons, etc – nothing worked!

Please help.

Javascript in IE no longer working

Hello-

I have a Windows server 2012 R2 with what I believe has a problem with Javascript and Internet Explorer.  If I go to certain web sites, they appear blank & I’ll see in the lower right and corner of the Internet Explorer window “javascript;”.  Other symptoms include pressing F12 and getting a blank page for developer tools, going various websites and the buttons are either missing or don’t “click” when I press them.  Outside of Internet Explorer, if I go into gpedit or the services mmc, the Extended tab on these utilities do not display anything other than a partially filled window with solid color or it’s blank.  If I click on the Standard tab of these apps, all is good.

I’ve searched for possible solutions & did the following:

  1.      With the exception of the latest MS April patch, I’m up-to-date.
  2.      Re-registered the following .dlls:  mmcndmgr.dll, vscript.dll, jscript.dll & jscript9.dll
  3.      Turned off IE Enhanced Security  for both Administrators & Users
  4.      Made sure Javascript was enabled in IE security settings
  5.      Turned off Windows firewall- didn’t buy me anything so I turned it back on

I’m not sure when this started happening.  For what it’s worth, I installed Firefox and had no problem with the website that gave me grief in IE.  Anti-virus has been removed; in fact my suspicions lie with the trial version of McAfee SaaS that was on this server.  I followed instructions to remove the produce properly, including using their un-install app in  “run as Administrator” mode.

Many articles that I read state to uninstall IE & re-install it to resolve this issue; unfortunately 2012 R2 comes with IE11 already installed, so I’m at a loss.

Looking forward to some excellent advice!

Unable to download after downgrading from IE10

At the enterprise I work at Internet Explorer 10 was installed automatically by accident, there were a lot of websites that were incompatible so we had to downgrade to IE9.  Since then on 100% of the computers users are unable to download ANYTHING. If you try to download something from any webpage (including Microsoft) you will either get a "unable to download" or nothing happens.  The one commonality is that these computers are Windows 7 64-bit SP1.  Other than that they were loaded by different people using different images.

So as of right now not even Windows Updates works, you can't even view downloads in IE.  Here are just some of the steps I've done to fix this.

Reset IE
Restore Advanced Settings
Allow basically everything in security settings
Change temporary internet files location
Delete Temp file
Delete all history, download history, temporary internet files
Add "SkipSSLNoCacheCheck" and "SkipHTTPNoCacheCheck" in registry
Re-register every DLL I can find

I believe the problem has something to do with caching because the SkipSSLNoCacheCheck registry entries will fix it if you downgrade from IE10 all the way back down to IE8.  But it does not work with IE9.  Given that this has affected every computer we've downgraded on I've got to believe that other people have experienced this.  Anyone?

EDIT: I notice that in the History Settings page the Current Location is blank and I can't change the Check for newer versions of stored pages as well as the Disk space to use is always 0 and I'm unable to change that.  Also pressing Alt + J doesn't do anything.

I've got to believe this is a bug in Internet Explorer.  I've tried all the normal things to fix, delete temporary internet files, history, cookies folders.  Change locations in registry.  Etc.. etc..

IE10 and IE11 Open and Then Close

Hi.  I am having similar problems with both IE10 and IE11. Both start with blank screen then close without displaying any content  System is W7 64B SP1 with Norton IS.  This problem started just a couple of weeks ago.

So far:

- Uninstalled both IE10 and IE11 several times through "View Installed Updates" but with each re-install the problem remains.  IE9 works fine.

- Ran sfc /scannow and all files are okay.

- Have Reset through Internet Options, no change.

- Have re-registered ieproxy.dll, no change.

- Have scanned for virus and rootkit, nothing identified.

- Nothing is identified in Event Viewer under Application or System as an error or warning.

IE 10 and IE11 will work with "Enhanced Protection Mode" in Internet Properties but this blocks various Add-Ons that I need.

I am at a complete loss.  Does anyone have further suggestions?

Thanks.

Specific website exclusion

I want to configure my office computers to be able to use IE to browse freely all websites except one.  For example, I want to block access to xyw.com, but not xyz.com/special.

I can do this with IE Content Advisor, but then I must whitelist all of the other sites I go to.

Family Safety will not accomplish this as far as I can determine.

How can I accomplish blocking xyz.com, but allow everything else (including xyz.com/special) without having to go through the (huge) whitelisting process?

IE version on Windows 8.1 64 bit

$

Hi - I was trying to identify which bit version of IE (32 or 64) gets opened as default in windows 8.1 64 bit.

What I am seeing here in my system is that it is always opening 64 bit IE browser even if I turn off protected mode. (by the properties iexplore.exe in the task manager I can confirm that it is using the 64 bit browser as browser exe is being utilized from non x86 location) but on further investigation, I found that this 64 bit browser is refering to two EXEs (under detail section in the task manager) one with 32 bit and one with 64 bit (I confirmed this by seeing the location of these EXEs) and memory is getting loaded under both the EXEs if any perform any action on the IE. Also, the explorer gets shutdown if I terminate/kill the 64 bit EXE from the details section.

Is it safe to say that window 8.1 64 bit will only open 64 bit browser and is there any difference in rendering engine (32 vs 64 bit) ?

Thanks,

Kunal

I am unable to run a youtube video using Adobe Flash Player - I get the following error - An error occurred, please try again later.   A red box with HD appears on top of the gear icon which is located on the lower right corner of the video screen.

I have tried everything that Adobe suggested and it still fails.  Has anyone else experience this issue?

Thanks in advance,

Nothing but problems with IE11 and Adobe Flash Player 13

I've installed the new flash player now nothing plays and uninstalling it doesn't help either. I've had to download a different browser; you would think that IE would not like people "jumping ship" and fix the F*&^ problem! But NO! Still a problem! And no one seems to know what the hell to do about it! I have windows 7 64bit. So now I will try another browser that actually works until IE gets their head out of their ass
