We are stuck on IE 9 because we also have Report Viewer 2008 installed to our XenApp servers...

Upon upgrading to IE 10 our intranet reports stopped working and it was traced back to the Report ViewerPRINTING DLLs not being compatible with IE 10...rsprinet.dll etc.

It's a well-known problem and upgrading the intranet server etc. is probably not possible for several centuries from now, sigh...

Would installing IE 11 and using Enterprise Mode for the intranet server site solve this problem??

We would like to run IE8 on Server 2012 R2 as a RemoteApp to clients.  We have client computers running Windows 7 but still need access to IE8 for older applications.  We are currently routing them through a Citrix server but would like this as a remote desktop service.

Hello,

After hours of research and trying hundreds of "fixes", I am still having the issue of blank tabs.

So, MSN.com, I click on a link and its supposed to open a new tab for that link. When it opens the tab, the tab is blank. I literally have to right click on whatever link I wish to open, click on "Copy Shortcut", open a new tab and paste it in there.

I have tried reinstalling IE11, resetting all settings back to default, I have tried System Restore, I have tried opening IE with no add-ons, etc.  I have gone through hundreds of threads and tried hundreds of "solutions" but nothing has worked.

I am running Windows 7 64-bit SP1 with IE 11.  I have performed general system maintenance, ensured all updates were installed, etc.

I'm not the type of person to ask for help but I am really stumped on this issue. So, I need help.

I have several computers..when they are running slow I go to task man. and find windows media player is taking my processor time and i'm not using it..this is happening with windows7 and windows8.i can halt rutine system speeds up..then wmp restarts in task..why is wmp doing anything when I am not using..what can be do to halt the process..the name of the file is wmpnetwk.exe

this file never stops in the processing window..cllifton

Only recently have I had a 10 second freeze of IE 11 when clicking on a few sites. Must have been a Microsoft update that has a bug.

Hi,

I have developed a website using Wordpress. http://www.worldretailcongress.cn/

While I have no issues loading up the website on the Google Chrome and Firefox, I have been experiencing severe display issues with Internet Explorer. Sometimes the page appears to be broken.. while on other times, I cannot click through an action on the iframe.

I tried using the meta tags <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=Edge"> to force the page to load the latest engine...

And then as described on this blog, I added yet another meta tag http://2slick.com/web/wordpress-problem-with-ie9internet-explorer-9/affordablewebsitestips/tutorials

Could someone help me, how could I solve this?

I have windows 7 home premium. Recently, every time I open internet explorer a message comes up telling me that a file on my computer has corrupted my default search provider for IE and that it default to the original provider (google) and take me to the add on page so I could choose a default. Once there, google is set to default and I can't change it. The computer is working great other than having to go through this process each time. Not letting me change providers and not responding when trying to change the default feels like a virus because it steers you away and makes choices unavailable. It doesn't bother me that much to push a button a couple of extra times but if a virus is causing this I need to stop it.

What I was wondering about is how permissions work and what should be listed when you go to int explorer properties and click security. What should this list look like? Mine starts with

 System

Owner(owner pc owner)

Home users (owner pc\home users)

Administrators (owner pc\administrators)

WMP network serv

When I first click on security, the middle line for home users has a long line of numbers and switches to the text quickly right after I open it. Is this right? It feels like someone doesn't want me to see the numbers and disappears. Could this be someone getting into my computer by using the permissions set by this slot and could it have anything to do with the corrupted search provider? I have norton internet security and it says secure. I tried to run the windows safety scanner and I couldn't download it. I saw on some forums that the search provider issue has happened to a lot of people. Does microsoft have a fix for this? A shortcut showed up on my desktop for MATS IE addon install and I don't know where it came from. Do I need this?

Hi,

I'm trying to download software from msdn.microsoft.com. Connection is far from ideal and direct download is not an option. I've read about Akamai Download Manager plugin (the installer should appear when I press download button) but I've never saw this installation notification. F12 development tools with IE9 emulation doesn't help. Please cold you advise me with this issue.

I already tried different combination like disable/enable "ActiveX filtering", disable/enable "Enhanced Protection mode", ...

I use the London Grid For Learning, LGFL and find that it opens properly (the normal and familiar way that I have come to know and be used to) in IE8. I am running Windows 7 and want to upgrade to IE11 but see that the format of the LGFL changes, although it works, it is not the same layout or format that I wish to keep. Please can someone advise how to keep the original formatting from IE8

As the title says Windows 7, browser stops working after some time passes.  

This effects IE and Chrome.  I can still ping www.google.com or it's IP address.  (all other computers on the network are fine)

I've used both the wired and wireless connection without the same results. 

I reboot and it works, I walk away from the work station and then boom no browsing. 

I've turned off the firewall, released and renewed the IP,  netsh winsock reset none off this worked.

I've gone into internet options and ensure that no "proxy' boxes are checked.  

I've uninstalled the network card drives and restarted the machine. 

I've ran Malwarebytes (no infections), ccleaner to check for registry problems.  Nothing there. 

I've disabled the power saving options and uncheck "let windows turn this device off"

I've also ran Norton and Mcgafee uninstallers just be sure there aren't any residue from those installed.

No bittorrent clients

So I'm online but can't browse on this one computer?  what's the deal please Help!

I try to download file from management website of switch device. The file size is 11.66K.

The webserver is GoAhead, OS is windows7 and explorer version is 10 (it also happens with explorer 11). The server is using Transfer-Encoding: chunked.

After I download the file, I get pop-up message from the browser “Do you want to open or save running-config.txt from 1.1.1.11?”

If I press the save/open button I get message “running-config .txt couldn’t be downloaded”. If I press the retry button the file is downloaded successfully.

When I used meddler to debug the problem, it didn’t occur and the file was downloaded successfully.

I took capture of successful download (with meddler debugger) and  another capture of download that raised “couldn’t be downloaded” message, but I didn’t see any difference between the requests and the responses. I also made sure the last chunk “0” was not missing in the response and it wasn’t.

Please note, I also tried many suggestions given to other users that reported similar problem – restart explorer, remove add-ons, etc – nothing worked!

Please help.

I mistakenly installed google chrome (thinking i was getting google earth) and then uninstalled it. It corrupted IE8 so that i cannot use windows explorer to view our ftp site. (which means that i cannot use our site). Google chrome also corrupted windows outlook but i used a Microsoft fix to cure that.

When i am at our ftp site and i go to "page" and then go to "Open ftp site in windows explorer" i get the error message "This site cannot be opened in windows explorer" I'm using IE8.

Any thoughts?

I am currently Testing Enterprise mode using the following: Windows 7 X64 SP 1 / IE 11 / EMET 4.1

When I enable the URL for reports, I get an error when enabling Enterprise mode for a site.  IE crashes and EMET throws a DEP mitigation error for IEXPLORER.exe.

I have been trying to track this down as without the URL for reporting enabled I have no issues.  It is possible that my configuration for reporting is flawed, I have been trying to locate further information on this logging feature. I cannot find out what is supposed to be on the server side or what I would think is the receiver side of the reports.  The documentation doesn't seem very helpful.

I'm trying to login to the Office 365 portal on two new 2012 R2 servers. When I try to login though I get a blank white page following a certificate warning. I've installed java and added the portal and login.microsoftonline.com to the trusted sites and nothing seems to make a difference. I don't want to have to install another browser to access Office 365. I've also disabled enhanced security in server manager.

When I create a profile for IE8/9 in GPP it does not give the option to select 'Automatically Detect Settings' on the LAN settings page. Is there a reason & how can I select this setting if its not available in GPP?

If I create an IE10 Profile it does allow this setting to be configured.

How do I stop IE 9 from blocking websites from displaying content with security certificate errors? Every site that I visit, I get this message, and I keep clicking and clicking and most of the times, the photographs go blank.

THen when I try to sign into my facebook page, I get Access denied, you do not have permission to access.

THis has absolutely got to be the very worst Internet Explorer version that I have ever used in over  20 years of use. I am very VERY close to not using IE atoll and use Firefox, or Chrome or even Safari.

I am having some issues with installing the Cisco Call Connector Toolbar (2.02.000 64-bit) in IE 11 (11.0.9600.16659). I am running Win7 Pro Service Pack 1.

My problem is that I can install this toolbar on a laptop that is not part of my domain without issue. The problem only occurs on PCs within my domain. Another piece of info, the toolbar works fine in my Outlook 2010. My security software does not prevent any toolbars from running.

Can anyone help with this please? Thanks, and please let me know if there is more info required.

Hi 

I am doing  selenium webdriver test in java for a web application. It involves downloadable links for which I have to automate, such that the downloadable content just saves to default download directory without any "File Download" - Dialog box , "Save As", etc.

I will be testing them from Windows 7/Vista Operating system.

Is there any REGEDIT command to do the above? 

I have checked forums and blogs for days, and couldnt able find any answer. Please help.

Is there any possibility of having an option like "Paste & Go" in the address bar's context menu to easily copy and paste the stored URL from clipboard and navigate there? exactly like what's there in Firefox and Chrome.

If NOT, any plan to implement in future version or up coming updates?
