Hello there,
I´m looking for the best way to deploy IE11 in the latest Version 11.0.7, because that one includes the Enterprise mode.
When I just push IE11 out through WSUS, the RTM Version without Updates gets installed. So the scenario would be:
That is of course not a good way, because after the first reboot the Enterprise Mode is not available yet and the RTM Version does not include the latest security updates.
So I downloaded the IE11 installer and the latest IE11 Update (KB2929437) and tried the following things:
After just one reboot I had the latest Version of IE 11 (11.0.7) installed.
I´m wondering now if this is a valid way to push it out or if there are a better ways of doing it.
Thanks for your help!
Hi
I saw something weird today with IE 8 and IE 9 (didn't check for later IE versions).
Issue:-
I had an email with .html file as attachment, and default program for opening .html files set as IE. When I try to view the attachment, a dialog box pops up (download manager) which asks to open or save the file.
In IE 9:- I don't get an option to open the file. Dialog box only displays option to save the file.
In IE8:- I see the option to open the file, but nothing happens when I click the 'open' option.
However, when I change the default program to open .html files (to any other browser,or even a text editor), I see the option to open the file in IE 9, and clicking on 'open' button opens up the file in IE 8, which, in other words, resolves the issue.
Related :- (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/41eed441-0d88-4f5b-9f10-49ebe9262bb2/cannot-save-and-open-htm-files?forum=ieitprocurrentver)
Can someone explain why is this happening?
FYI:- I did try disabling add-ons, changed security settings, allowed active content to run from my computer etc. Nothing worked except changing the default program for .html file.
Many Thanks
Hi,
Does anyone know if it is possible to export all of the settings that are within internet options from a windows 7 machine? I've seen all sorts of articles about exporting from a non Windows 7 machine, but nothing about windows 7
Thanks,
Tony
At some point few months ago my IE 11 stopped working. Here are details.
When I run it, the window opens, but nothing is in menu, and when I type url, it does not navigate. See screenshot below.
What I tried: Uninstall IE11 and install again. Disable all add ons. When I run iexplore.exe -extoff it works, so I thought if I disable all add-ons it would work, but it didn't.
I have Windows 8.1 Pro, x64
IE version: 11.0.9600.17031
Hi all,
having a strange issue with IE10.
It have been configured and deployed using the IEAK10. and all works ok at initial log on. If a user logs off, then back on again, the home page is lost.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
If I redeploy IE10 using the package generated, the home page returns.
there are no GPO's causing this either from what I can tell.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Ta!
Dear Members,
I am experiencing a strange issue after upgrading to Windows & Professional (OEM) and Internet Explorer 11.
Videos on Yahoo Screen will not play. The animation on CNN.com (markets and weather) will not display either.
When I switch to inprivate browsing, all videos function fine.
I have the most recent version of Flash player installed as well.
To make this more frustrating, I have two laptops, both with Windows 7 Home and IE11 that function without issue.
Any ideas why running in inprivate browsing would allow videos to play? Or why the laptops with Windows 7 Home also work fine?
I have tried every combination of setting I could find without success.
Any help is appreciated.

When I click on a link that should open in a new tab (or right-click and select Open in new Tab), IE11 Opens a new tab but the screen is blank, the URL is about:blank and the tab title is 'Blank Page'.
Windows 8.1 x64
Internet Explorer 11 (Desktop)
The 'Metro' version of IE 11 still works fine, it's just the Desktop version which is broken.
I've tried all the fixes listed in the similar thread, but none have helped.
As of about a week ago, all of my ASP.Net Chart Controls stopped showing their tooltips in IE11. The tool tips display in other browsers and other versions of IE. Has anyone else seen and resolved this? I am wondering what else if Microsoft has fckuped in IE 11

Hi,
I'm having a cookie problem on 2 out of 2 tested environments using Windows Server 2008 R2 (with roaming profiles) and Internet Explorer 10 (IEAK'ed) :S
For instance when I login to www.google.com with my username and password, as long as I'm using my Windows session I'm logged in towww.google.com every time I open the browser (with all iexplore.exe processes closed before). When I logoff my Windows session my (roaming) profile is beeing saved on the fileserver and the locally cached Windows profile is beeing deleted.
When I logon to Windows again (on the same computer) the roaming profile is beeing copied from the fileserver to my client (including the .txt cookies), butwww.google.com isn't logging me in automatically. The same thing happens with other cookies related stuff on websites :S
Also tried WITH and WITHOUT folder redirection for AppData/Cookies/etc, even a newly installed environment with Microsoft defaults is giving me problems.
Anybody out there having the same problem ?
In sharepoint 2013 while installing Clause wizard stup (with IE10) it gives an error as follows
An Error occurred attempting to install Clause Wizard
error generated in Log File as follows
URLDownloadToCacheFile failed with HRESULT '-2147024891'
please let me know any one having idea about this error
Is there any way to download files using the old style download dialog box instead of this new notification bar? We are having problems with a certain intranet within our corporate environment where clicking a certain button to download an invoice, we only see the notification bar briefly for 2 seconds - basically clicking the button opens a new IE 10 window with the download prompt in the notification bar, but this window closes itself in 2 seconds not giving enough time to click "download file". When we had IE 8 we had no such problem as the old style file download box just remained there.
I have noticed if I ever try and download the IEEE copyright form in DOC format from here:
http://www.ieee.org/publications_standards/publications/rights/copyrightmain.html
It does bring up a different prompt, which looks rather similar to the old style file download prompt. I don't know what is so special about this link, as I have tried to download DOC files from dropbox as well but do not get such a prompt, instead getting the new notification bar style download prompt.
I'm trying to boot into safe mode with networking. I can successfully boot into Safe Mode, but my Network Access is always disabled.
I've tried msconfig / Click on Restart / Restart Now from the Update and Recovery menu in 'Change PC Settings'. They all eventually get me to the Same boot options menu which says ... F4 for Safe mode, F5 for Safe mode with Networking etc.. I
select the F5 Safe mode with Networking and it re-boots into Safe mode but I have no network access.
I'm connecting to my home ADSL, no proxy required. If I boot normally I have network & internet access, but in 'F5 Safe mode with Networking' my networking is disabled.

Hi. I am having similar problems with both IE10 and IE11. Both start with blank screen then close without displaying any content System is W7 64B SP1 with Norton IS. This problem started just a couple of weeks ago.
So far:
- Uninstalled both IE10 and IE11 several times through "View Installed Updates" but with each re-install the problem remains. IE9 works fine.
- Ran sfc /scannow and all files are okay.
- Have Reset through Internet Options, no change.
- Have re-registered ieproxy.dll, no change.
- Have scanned for virus and rootkit, nothing identified.
- Nothing is identified in Event Viewer under Application or System as an error or warning.
IE 10 and IE11 will work with "Enhanced Protection Mode" in Internet Properties but this blocks various Add-Ons that I need.
I am at a complete loss. Does anyone have further suggestions?
Thanks.

When I select a PHP file to open it is redirected to be downloaded and opened (or I can choose to save) in Internet Explorer. I need to test the file in different browsers. How can I remove this automatic association?
I've tried selecting a php file from Windows Explorer and selecting a different browser with no success. I recently bought a new computer with Windows 8. It's a big jump from my old one which used XP where there was no problem opening files with a php extension.

Hi all,
I have IE10 x64 and Win 7 x64 + SP1, but my IE cannot open any page. I mean, when I type any URL in IE, loads and then display an blank page to me. The title is blank, the page is blank. All the other application that use a embedded explorer control also displays nothing.
UPDATE:
Press alt to call out menu bars, most of the menu items doesn't work, except those in the View menu. (View source doesn't work, either.)
ENVIRONMENT:
IE version: 10.0.9200
Windows 7 (6.1 build 7601 Service Pack 1)
Display Card: nVidia GTS 450
UPDATE: Uninstalled IE 10, IE 9 still displaying blank pages. It might be something wrong with the system. Ho can tell me how to fix?
UPDATE2: Do iediagcmd.exe then regsvr32 on some dlls, then re-install IE 10, now menus are recovered, local files can be properly displayed on IE if launched with. But if I start IE then tried to load pages,
not working; loading a remote HTML page is still broken.
UPDATE3: IE 11 still not working.
UPDATE4:
A new upgrade install of Windows 7 (with SP1) solves this issue. There might be registry error.
