PDF document not loading

I am trying to figure this issue out. I have an updated version 11 Internet Explorer that will not properly display Adobe PDF documents. I have included a screen shot to show what it looks like whenever I try to load a pdf doc.

I have tried to load the pdf locally (stored on the drive) and on the web. Both fail to display the pdf. I have re-installed Adobe Reader in an attempt to solve this issue. Still no luck.

Hopefully someone here can help me with this issue. Running Windows 7 Professional.

Hello,

I am having an issue with .msg files not opening with the default program, Outlook. They are opening in a new tab and it is just a bunch of gibberish from the email header. Does anyone know how to force IE to open the .msg files in Outlook? They open fine in Chrome and Firefox.

Thanks for your help!

With IE 11 on Win 7 Pro 64 bit, reading PDR online gets IE stuck in loop.

Every time I read a PDF online I can't go back to search results. Clicking the back button just makes the screen flutter a little and takes me to the PDF again. An endless loop. If I use Firefox on the very same PDF it jumps back like it's supposed to. Someone pleas tell me how to fix this. I often read PDFs and this behavior causes me lots of extra trouble.

Problem Viewing gpresult report from local drive via Internet Explorer 10.

I am in the process of upgrading our systems from IE8 to IE10.  I have noticed when I try to view a gpresult html report saved to the local machine, all of the headers are expanded.  I do not have the option to show all or hide all.  Is seems like the format is not as clean.  It is not displaying properly.  If I open the same file from a shared location, it opens just fine.  I am wondering if there is a setting that is causing this format to be off when I open an html file from the local machine.

Hello All.  I am using IE 8 and trying to debug some Javascript.  The page has frames and the script is on a child frame.  The script tab only displays the script for the parent frame.  I see in IE 9 there is a Console.cd command but it is not working in IE8 for me.  Any help appreciated.

I'm using IE 10.

I'd like to disable the prompt "Open, Save or Save as". Each time I tried to any document (ex. DOC or PDF file), IE will popup the follow prompt: "What do you want to do with ..."

I saw there are some similar threads, but they are particular for SharePoint.

Thank you!

IE 11 cumulative security update KB295418 (win7X64) Breaks IE when Warn if changing between secure & unsecure pages is on

We currently having an issue with IE 11 on systems that upgrade from a IEAK configured IE 8 browser.

If a user upgrades IE 8 to IE 11 and installs the IE 11 cumulative security update KB295418 (win7X64) the user can no longer travel from a HTTPS to HTTPS page, or from HTTPS to HTTP page. If you uncheck the advance setting: Warn if changing between secure & unsecure pages it fixes the issue. It appears that the KB breaks the dialog box that comes up to warn you that you are going to a secure or unsecure page. This dialog box does not appear if you have the KB installed. If the KB is not installed there are no issues, dialog box appears and everything works as it should.

PDF knocks out IE 11s reverse.

I have had this problem with IE 11 and PDF files for weeks. Thought I had it fixed for a little while but now it's doing the same extremely annoying thing. I'm running Win 7 Pro 64bit if that has any bearing.

Every time I read a PDF online I can't get IE to go back to the search results or anywhere else. It is stuck on the PDF. Neither the back button on the page nor the back button on my keyboard does any more than make the page flutter a bit. If I close the tab, the entire browser closes. I was using Nitro Pro, then I switched to Adobe Reader to see if Nitro Pro was causing the trouble. Same old thing. I tried opening the very same files with Firefox and it works perfectly. Then I did a total reset of IE 11. Still no help.

Someone please tell me how to fix this extremely annoying behavior.

Win 7 Pro updates to Internet Explorer 11 every web page has blank frames and radio buttons. Updates show only IE11.

This entry frame on your page has radio buttons, giving me some editing functions - Bold, Italic, Underline, Insert unordered List, Insert Ordered List, Insert Hyperlink, Remove Hyperlink, Insert HTML, etc... but I cannot see them.  Ever since updating Internet Explorer to ver 11, there is no going back to IE8.  Your Tech forum monitors keep rehashing the same links that do not answer this snafu.  Your Monitors suggest that the web sites are not running because they are not compatible with the newer versions of Internet Explorer - well, even Microsoft's websites?  When you create a new web interface, why would your coding team make it incompatible with your own company's sites?

The Monitors suggest our cards can't handle GPU and we should turn to software rendering.  My card is a GeForce GTX 50 TI and has, according to the manufacturer web site: "Microsoft®  DirectX® 11 Support
DirectX 11 GPU with  Shader Model 5.0 support designed for ultra high performance in the new API’s  key graphics feature, GPU-accelerated tessellation."

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling IE and Microsoft must realize no customer wants to have the technical side string them along with pointless and futile misdirection to a garble of automatic chat responses that offer incomplete and unrelated fixes and then expect to gain points in the voting buttons that "this fixed my problem".

Microsoft: you are ignoring compatibility problems with your coding and pretending it is arises from hardware incompatibility or user stupidity.  Your code should be running seamlessly, should accommodate existing technologies, and be flexible enough to accept limitations of older hardware, older websites, and your monitors should march into Microsoft's development offices and demand answers ---- and fixes.  Has Microsoft gone into hiding when the latest technology show-piece isn't working for the rest of the world?  We do not exist in a research bubble.  We are here in the real world, with aging equipment and tight budgets, and we expect better from Microsoft.

how to remove home page tabs

Hello,

I know how to add a tab to the Home Page by using the "house" icon on the upper right of the toolbar, however though the right-click drop down list offers "Add or change home page", it only seems to provide the add option.  I want to delete one of those tabs that I added to the home page tabs a while ago.  How do I find the option to remove one?

Thanks,   Vicki

"****YOU VIRUS dmgzandrovikini" IE Virus

I'm getting this weird virus in Internet Explorer which somehow opened a window I screenshotted above. So far it doesn't seem to be doing any real harm besides reading the exact above message when mousing over Internet Explorer, but it's a virus and no one wants a virus on their computer. There may be potential for this to operate as some form of a botnet client.

The Internet Explorer window looks normal, but when I mouse over the taskbar icon the virus shows. Is this a known virus? I couldn't find anything when googling the title of the virus. I can also provide a video which shows me mousing over the icon, if needed. I couldn't screenshot it because your mouse can only be once place at any given time.

On a side note, my antivirus (AVG) could not detect anything, but I know for sure there is some sort of malware on my computer.

I have the most recent version of Internet Explorer and Windows 8. Can anyone provide any input and hopefully, a solution?

It would be greatly appreciated.

(Sorry, I can't seem to upload images until my account is verified. I'll be right back as soon as possible with them)

IE 11 loads but does not work - everything appears disabled

I recently installed windows 8.1 along with that came IE 11. (8.1 is excellent)

However when I load IE11 it opens up - not frozen - but everything appears disabled.

Under tools the only enabled menu items are: file, safety and compatibility settings, everything else is disabled - I cannot even go to internet options.

If I click the home button, then nothing happens.

If I type in a URL - nothing happens (note: I am connected to the internet and browse with Chrome, actually it is Chrome that I must use to submit this post right now).

I am the administrator of my PC (this is a personal laptop). I uninstalled and re-installed IE11 under windows features with no success - twice.

Not sure what to really do next - normally I would not care about IE because there are so many different versions and they all render differently. Not to mention the fact that IE is set to load intranet sites in compatibility mode (who thought that bright idea up?)  Anyway.. if it were not for that I am a developer and I am forced to test that my sites are compatible with it - IE7, IE8, IE9, IE10, IE11 and must expect each one to show differently (seriously - do you guys at MS plan it that way to put us through so much pain or did it just happen by mistake?)

Please help make my IE not be a dumb zombie. I am happy to supply you with whatever info you need - screenshots, version info etc.

Frustrated by IE.

IE9 menu Bar malfunction

$

0

My IE9 windows are becoming confused, and I find that 2 menu bars are displayed, but only the lower bar works. There is a gap between the two bars, and in that gap you can see other menus (eg on the Google page it shows their menu for Web, Images ...). The problem is that you cannot get to the top of the "page" as it lies up underneath the confused set of menu bars (see image).

The awful Internet Explorer Image renderengine

$

The image rendering engine of IE 8,9, 10, 11 is always awful since years of in compare to ALL other browsers.

Example: If you have responsive Design you upload images at the highest resolution (1024x768) and the Browser scale this image as needed.

ALL browsers deliver scaled and sharp images except the IE 8,9, 10, 11 (IE 7 use-ms-interpolation-mode:bicubic) which no longer work.

Compare it with the frontpage of   www.microsoft.com - scale it to Smartphone Size and see the images: IE 8,9, 10, 11 always has NO anti-aliasing.

PLEASE FIX THIS - or people using IE must accept this...?!
