Is this IE8's bug about session & cookie?

Hi:

This problem is only happened in IE8, not in IE9,IE10,and firefox, chrome.

In IE8, I open 27 of tabs,  task manager will generate 7 process( include one frame process), these processes will share cookies, normally. Because I open them through  new Tabs.

taskmanager

Then, I open my website and login in all tabs . and then logout every tabs.

    login...logout....login...logout...

After 5-6 times opeartions, I found IE8 has generated 6 different sessions,  these sessions have their own cookies, not share between other sessions.

It look like 7 process will generate 6 different session in some conditions.

My website is written by java in Jetty/struts/spring.

I wanna know if this is IE8's bug? Because I didn't find same question in IE9,IE10.

Or something I do will trigger these question?

 Thank you!

ps:

I am sorry I can't supply my website because of My company not allowed I did it

Disable Automatic Microsoft Website signon in IE10

Like the person here:  http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie10-windows_8/how-can-i-disable-auto-sign-in-for-internet/6501d8bb-543f-4fce-83c4-5c719ddb517f

I would like to figure out a way to disable the automatic sign in when you go to a Microsoft website like Outlook.com within IE10.

The account I am using on my Windows 8 machine for example would be :  username1@outlook.com

But if I want to go to Outlook.com, and check my email for account:  username2@outlook.com, as soon as I connect to the website, it automatically logs me in withusername1@outlook.com.  So I have to log out, and back on as the account I want to use.  Yes I could switch my Windows 8 account over to the 2nd account, but I would be in the same boat if I wanted to check mail for the first username.

Right now to avoid this problem I simply just have to use a browser other than IE, but I would like to see if there is someway to get IE10 not to automatically sign me in under my current Microsoft Account I have on Windows 8.  Resetting IE settings, etc does not help.  This is something Windows 8 does by default with IE10 on every machine.

Black screen video online in a full screen mode in IE11

The black screen video online in a full screen mode in IE11. I try to watch the movie, I want to tear on the full screen, but for some reason, I see only the black screen with a sound. Generally this video loaded in a social network of VKontakte, i.e. is used its online videoplayer, but in VK it opens normally, but on sites where it is possible to watch soap operas and movies, they add video from вк (amovies.tv), every other time only opens without black screen. On other browsers such there is no bug. Also IE11 is often closed with an error, most likely it is connected to memory leak (it can be seen in a task manager). Directly I will tell... viruses aren't present, reset of settings did, video card drivers the newest. Win8.1-64bit system, video card Intel HD 3000, 6GB RAM. I hope in new updates of the browser of such errors won't be. I noted such glitch on laptops with permission 1366*768, business in video рендере which involves IE11 seems to me. On YouTube there is video with the same problem as at me (youtu.be/SmhvVH5QAQA). How to Fix? Thank you. P.S. Sorry my bad english)

IE 11 pre-approve Browser Helper Objects / add-ons

Hello,

I'm preparing Win 8.1 preview image with MDT 2013 beta and I have a problem making Internet Explorer 11 pre-approve Browser Helper Objects.

I'm installing MS Office 2013, Adobe Acrobat XI, Java 1.6 in the State Restore state (so after the Windows first boots up).

When I start IE 11 for the first time on every user I have a popup to enable the following addons:

Java(tm) Plug-In 2 SSV Helper - ClassID {DBC80044-A445-435B-BC74-9C25C1C588A9}

Microsoft SkyDrive Pro Browser Helper - ClassID {D0498E0A-45B7-42AE-A9AA-ABA463DBD3BF}

Office Document Cache Handler - ClassID {B4F3A835-0E21-4959-BA22-42B3008E02FF}

Lync Browser Helper - ClassID {31D09BA0-12F5-4CCE-BE8A-2923E76605DA}

Adobe PDF Link Helper - ClassID {18DF081C-E8AD-4283-A596-FA578C2EBDC3}

I've tried to add those ClassIDs to Win8.1 unattend.xml into PreApprovedAddons, InstalledBrowserExtensions, InstalledBHOLIst in Specialize phase but without any luck.

I also tried to add them using GPO "Add-on list" in Administrative Templates for Machine and User - still no luck

I've added them manualy under HKCU / HKLM \Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\PreApproved

as well as HKCU / HKLM \Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Approved Extensions

no luck

All of those methods doesn't work and I'm still getting "Several add-ons are ready for use." prompt each time IE is started on a new profile.

Can you please share any ideas about it?

Best Regards,

Bartek

How to ALWAYS open links in new tabs on IE10, desktop version? Settings>Internet Options>Tabs seems incomplete......

$

Hello, I know variations of this question have been asked already, but I'm not finding answers that seem to actually work.

For example, if I click on a link in my Favorites Bar or in my Favorites, they open in the already open tab, not in a new tab.

This is not the case for Firefox; in FF they always open in a new tab. In previous versions of IE there were plugins that enabled this feature, but in IE10, Desktop version, all we seem to have are the tab options in settings. I have tried setting it to always open in new tabs, and in new a new window, but nothing works.

Please don't mention keyboard shortcuts, as that doesn't seem intuitive; who wants to remind themselves to use the shortcut every time?

And yes, I know I could go back to FF, but I'm not a quitter! I want to like IE10, and I'm willing to give it a chance in spite of a few shortcomings.

Is there a plugin or registry hack to really really really make IE10 ALWAYS open links in new tabs?

How do I turn off autoswitching to a new tab???

$

When I select "Open in a new tab" in IE, the browser automatically switches to the new tab.  I *HATE* this behavior as I like to open multiple news stories and then read them one at a time.

I have already unchecked the option Internet Options--Tabs--Settings--Always Switch to New Tabs....

This does nothing.  The current default behavior is a deal-breaker as it is massively anti-productive.

Many web sites suggest that you need IE8 but there is still an error that results in the termination of the window "Done".  Other browsers are not affected.

Spontaneous Failure of My Internet Explorer 10 During Use

In mid-inquiry on the Internet, a screen pops up saying,"Internet Explorer has stopped working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available," The program then shuts down and  a screen pops up saying,"A problem with the webpage has caused the application to stop working."  I tried to download Int.Exp. 10 again but was informed that it was already in place on my computer. I'm tired of loosing valuable info in mid inquiry. How do I fix this.

Items on Favorites Bar Automatically Re-Populate After Deleting Them

$

So after I delete an item from my favorites bar in IE11 it almost instantly reappears.  I've confirmed the autocomplete setting for address bar and favorites is un-checked.

Internet Options>Content tab, 'Settings' button in Autocomplete section, UNchecked the options to use autocomplete for Address bar entries, including favorites.

I'm using IE11 with Windows 8.1, starting IE from the desktop (not from the start screen).

I've stopped and started IE, rebooted the PC.   I've even deleted the 'Favorites Bar' folder in my profile; it too automatically re-appears.  Next step I'm trying (barring a solution from the experts) is to uninstall and reinstall IE.  Should I also perhaps run malwarebytes (low-level virus checker/remover).  I would hope the security features included with Win 8.1 and IE11 would prevent this from being a malware issue.

AAAGGHH - this is frustrating.  HELP  !!!

IE's Slowness With Long Threads on Microsoft Forums

$

Long threads on this website become very slow to display (as in locking up the browser for literally MINUTES).  But the page displays finally DO complete if you're very patient, indicating it's not an infinite loop.

This is not a new problem, it's obvious to all and it's been discussed here before, with Microsoft's acknowledgement. But amazingly it has only been given minimal attention.  Some forum updates have incrementally decreased the time to display long threads, but the problem remains, literally for years!

I believe it needs to be discussed further.  It cannot be that Microsoft wants IE to work this badly on its own website.  Certainly waiting for threads to display doesn't make our days any brighter.

Here's a fairly long thread you can try it on if you'd like to reproduce the problem for yourself:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w8itprogeneral/thread/3baf6cb4-e21f-41d8-95f7-a06f4fc12076#d454303b-b6f7-42a3-9527-9b676bff26ce

Some observations:

  • It takes MUCH longer (something like 10x longer) if you're logged-in than if you're logged out.

  • Sometimes IE puts up a message that "Microsoft.com is not responding due to a long-running script".  I've seen other browsers put up similar messages.

  • Most times fairly quickly the page will partially render, but without the avatars, etc., then the avatars, points, etc. will fill in much later when the spinner stops, indicating the page display is done.

  • Not every browser is equally slow, though all seem to be affected by whatevernear-infinite loop Microsoft has coded in the web script.

  • The problem seems to be getting no better in the latest versions, even though they claim much faster script processing.  It also seems worse on 64 bit OSs.

Observed logged-in times to display the thread at the link I provided above:

  • Windows XP Pro, IE8:

Page initially went solid blank white.
27 seconds to display the page initially, coincident with a dialog: "A script is running slowly", "Stop this script"?  I answered No.
64 seconds to display the avatars, names, points, etc.

  • Windows Vista 32 bit, IE9:

2.6 seconds to display the page initially
32.4 seconds to display the avatars, names, points, etc.

  • Windows Vista x64, IE9 (on a much less powerful workstation than the others here):

4.8 seconds to display the page initially
175.4 seconds to display the avatars, names, points, etc.

  • Windows 7 32 bit, IE9:

3.2 seconds to display the page initially
31.0 seconds to display the avatars, names, points, etc.

  • Windows 7 64 bit, IE9:

2.8 seconds to display the page initially
43.8 seconds to display the avatars, names, points, etc.

  • Windows 7 64 bit, IE10 (RP):

2.6 seconds to display the page initially
59.4 seconds to display the avatars, names, points, etc.

  • Windows 8 64 bit, IE10:

3.0 seconds to display the page initially
63.6 seconds to display the avatars, names, points, etc.

Since Microsoft doesn't seem to want to try to get to the bottom of this, how about we here have a go at figuring out what's happening using the various profiling and tracing tools?  Wouldn't it be great to be able to browse here more quickly?

IE Traffic being forced to tunnel via port 443

I have a Windodws 2008 R2 server that has been in production for over 2 years.  It is a Hyper-V host running five 2008 R2 guests.  Everything wasw running fine until a couple of weeks ago when I installed the latest HP firmware and drivers.  Since then, Internet Explorer cannot open any website except www.google.com.  After uninstalled IE9 and then installing IE10 there was no change.  I've scanned the server with malwarebytes and HiJackThis.  No problems found.  I reset IE and reset the TCP/IP stack.  No change.  I removed McAfee AV and I'm now able to access google and one other site.  I then installed Fiddler and looked at what is happening and it appears that most websites are trying to tunnel using port 443 rather than using the typical port 80.  I'm not sure how to interpret this.  I know name resolution is working and can ping the sites I'm trying to reach.  If I go to a standard site, saywww.yahoo.com, the IE window stays blank but if I go to Tools/View Source it appears I'm looking at the HTML from the target site.  Below is a summary of the Fiddler output when I tried to go to yahoo.com.  Any help is greatly appreciated as I am all out of ideas.

Thanks,
Joe

Unable to make changes to LAN Settings in IE after Group Policy Preference is applied

$

Hi all,

I have an IE10 group policy preference on a Server 2008 R2 domain that is pushed out to Windows 7 SP1 x64 clients. This IE10 GPP is used to push out proxy settings etc. The GPP is applied fine, however when I go into LAN Settings in IE and make any changes such as unchecking "Use a proxy server..." these changes are not saved. As soon as I click OK and go back into LAN Settings it reverts back to the GPP settings. Are IE10 GPP's meant to allow a user to amend settings in IE? The users have permissions to write to the Connections key under Internet Settings in the registry. If I delete the Connections key (Which includes DefaultConnectionSettings and SavedLegacySettings) I can then make changes to the proxy (Although without the original settings). I know their are other, and better, methods of controlling proxy settings for users but unfortunately this is the way the customer has it implemented. All defaults for GP is applied such as refresh rate etc. I've tested IE10 on a Server 2012 R2 / Win8 environment with the exact same GPP settings and I can make changes to the LAN Settings. Is this possibly a bug? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have an old .NET 1.1 website and my client want it to run properly  on IE10 without activating compatibility view on Browser.

I tried to add meta tags <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE10" /> but it doesn't solve my problem.

I found solution for  ".NET 2.0 or higher version issues  with IE10" but not for .NET 1.1.

Thanks in Advance,

ActiveX targetting multiple environments

Greetings,

We have an active X developed in 32bit  .Net framework and which was working fine under windows XP 32bits, now we have two issues:

- in order to run the control under 64 bit / IE8, do we have to re-compile it in .Net framework 4 under 64 bits? or is there some workaround with configuration only?

- when the activeX runs, it tries to load some DLLs but IE8 shows "access to the path...is denied", although the site is in the trusted zone, any pointers on this issue, is it related to the one above?

Thanks in advance!
