SPDY support on web browser control

$

I am trying to enable SPDY on web browser control (on the machine - Internet Explorer 11/WIN 8.1).

In Internet Explorer advanced settings and in the registry the EnableSPDY3_0 is set to 1.

But in my web browser control the SPDY is not working. Are there other settings that I need to configure?

Built in error checker - email addresses on forms

When a form asks for an e-mail address to be input, this new version of IE 10 is making life hell.  What winds up happening is that if you use an e-mail from a small company or a school, IE does not recognize it as being valid and tells you to correct it even though it is correct.  Is there any way around this built in e-mail address checker?  Thanks.

IE 11 hates PDF files

I'm using IE 11 with Win 7 Pro 64 bit. When I read a PDF file online, most of the time IE refuses to go back to the main page of the site. When I press the back button on my keyboard or click the back arrow on IE it just keeps trying to reopen the PDF. Sometimes if I push the back button really fast five or six times it will get away from the PDF but I never know what page it may take me to. This behavior is a PITA. Can someone please tell me how to fix it?

Hide mouse cursor when typing is not working in IE11 Windows7

Hide mouse cursor when typing is not working in IE11 Windows7 - I saw a post that devs were looking at this in 2011? Slow progress huh?

This is really annoying when you have to move the cursor to see what you are typing...

In IE 11 when you delete an item from favorites where does it go?

In older versions of IE I could find the deleted items in the recycle bin, but not since I changed to IE11 and Win 8

Outlook web access

After updating my windows 7 machine to IE 11, I've only been able to open my company's Outlook web access in lite mode, although Firefox works fine.

I've tried the suggestions about compatibility mode, but that doesn't seem to make a difference, even changing the user agent string to 10.

I like IE and want to continue to use it, but have had to use Firefox more and more.

Unable to Install Root CA Certificate - Certificate cannot be verified up to a trusted certificate authority.

Hi,

I am trying to install CA root certificate on Windows 7, IE 9.

Encounter error: "Untrusted Certificate".  "This certificate cannot be verified up to a trusted certificate authority."

I have tried to install the certificate to Trusted Root Certificate Authorities->local computer and import was successful. BUT on IE->Internet Options->Certificate->Trusted Root Certificate Authorities, I am unable to find this root CA on the list.

On mmc->Certificates->Trusted Root Certificate Authorities->certificates, I am able to view this root CA.

I then restarted the IE and view the ssl site again but failed too, "Untrusted Certificate".

Anyone, any idea ?

IE 10 not using proxy settings

Odd one this. Our proxy server address is distributed to client workstations through GPP. Just lately, and I can't think of a reason why, users have been complaining that they are presented with the authentication page for our proxy server, which is usually presented when no proxy details have been set within IE. So, I check the proxy details, and they are present! If I untick the checkbox for 'use automatic configuration script', recheck it, OK, close the window, and refresh the page, all is good again. It's like IE is forgetting that the details are there - any ideas?

Unable to make changes to LAN Settings in IE after Group Policy Preference is applied

$

Hi all,

I have an IE10 group policy preference on a Server 2008 R2 domain that is pushed out to Windows 7 SP1 x64 clients. This IE10 GPP is used to push out proxy settings etc. The GPP is applied fine, however when I go into LAN Settings in IE and make any changes such as unchecking "Use a proxy server..." these changes are not saved. As soon as I click OK and go back into LAN Settings it reverts back to the GPP settings. Are IE10 GPP's meant to allow a user to amend settings in IE? The users have permissions to write to the Connections key under Internet Settings in the registry. If I delete the Connections key (Which includes DefaultConnectionSettings and SavedLegacySettings) I can then make changes to the proxy (Although without the original settings). I know their are other, and better, methods of controlling proxy settings for users but unfortunately this is the way the customer has it implemented. All defaults for GP is applied such as refresh rate etc. I've tested IE10 on a Server 2012 R2 / Win8 environment with the exact same GPP settings and I can make changes to the LAN Settings. Is this possibly a bug? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

We are opening image file(.jpeg,.png) in silverlight control embedded in child window created as below-

var StatusCardWindowNew = window.showModelessDialog(url, window, sFeatures);

when this file is modified on server, this silverlight application is not downloading latest image file unless navigate to other URL or page refresh happens.

Any ideas on this?
Why IE (8 and above) is not downloading latest image files from server when these are modified there?

Thanks in advance..

Internet Explorer 10 and 11 not saving cookies when Roaming Profile used.

$

Hi,

We are using Citrix Xenapp 6.5 with roaming profile and IE9.
I have tried to upgrade to IE10 and IE11 on a test Xenapp server, when we log off Windows and log back on again any website settings stored in cookies were lost.

The cookies is stored in the roaming part of the profile. New in IE10 is the webcache file database that keeps track of cookie stored in the profile
AppData\Local folder gets deleted when you log off, if you have a roaming profile, and when you log on again all coockies are rewritten. Same problem with IE11.

Sites work using manual proxy but not with automatic detect

$

I asked this in the ISA forum but they said since the WPAD file isn't generated by ISA to cross-post over here.

We have an ISA 2006 build 5.0.5712 operating as our web proxy. We have WPAD configured both in DNS and in DHCP to point to this ISA server. There are two sites (rentsentinel.com and epmsonline.com) which when we use the 'Automatically detect settings' option in IE8, it either gives red X's in part of the homepage (rentsentinel), or doesn't show the page at all (epms). If we manually specify the proxy settings for this same server, it works fine. It would also appear that one can browse fine on random sites, but once we attempt to browse to one of these two sites,  that further browsing to other sites no longer works, even those we visited in the same browsing session.

If I manually specify the http://wpad/wpad.dat file in the config field, no change in behavior. But if I use that same entry in Firefox, both websites render fine. Our wpad.dat is included below, with our internal domain name switched to domain.com.

I'm looking for help on getting these sites working correctly with automatic detection. Thanks!

IE10 Scrollbar color issue

I have installed IE10 and I am wondering if there is a way to change the color of the scrollbar.  The light grey is so light it's hard to see.  I have tried a few things and searched around and come up with nothing.  I love the preview otherwise and would like to keep it but this one thing might make me use another as I swap back and forth between IE and Comodo Dragon.

Thanks in advance,

Internet Explorer 10 cookies and roaming profiles (WebCache directory)

$

Hi,

I'm having a cookie problem on 2 out of 2 tested environments using Windows Server 2008 R2 (with roaming profiles) and Internet Explorer 10 (IEAK'ed) :S

For instance when I login to www.google.com with my username and password, as long as I'm using my Windows session I'm logged in towww.google.com every time I open the browser (with all iexplore.exe processes closed before). When I logoff my Windows session my (roaming) profile is beeing saved on the fileserver and the locally cached Windows profile is beeing deleted.

When I logon to Windows again (on the same computer) the roaming profile is beeing copied from the fileserver to my client (including the .txt cookies), butwww.google.com isn't logging me in automatically. The same thing happens with other cookies related stuff on websites :S

Also tried WITH and WITHOUT folder redirection for AppData/Cookies/etc, even a newly installed environment with Microsoft defaults is giving me problems.

Anybody out there having the same problem ?
