Can't move toobars in IE 9 with Toolbars Unlocked
Where are all the group policy settings for IE???
Hello:
I have a Win XP SP 3 box running IE8. When I go to Tool -> Internet Options, many of the controls are greyed out... there is also a message at the bottom of the screen which reads, "some settings are managed by your system administrator".
This is a standalone host -- everything is managed on that host; so... I opened the mmc, added the Group Policy Object Editor and browsed to Local Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Internet Explorer
Just about ever policy item there is marked "not configured".
The question becomes, where do I go to be able to set the group policy so IE settings can be changed?
Thanks!
IE table rendering issues. Any ideas how to eliminate extra cell spacing rendered by IE
I have a problem with IE 9 rendering a table. This particular page has a larger table rendered for an application.
1. I have disabled all CSS on the site (its strictly in the table render on the site)
2. Removed as much spacing as possible in the RAZOR view of the application to try to eliminate whitespace issue in code
3. Ensured that there are no extra characters in the text (from the DB) so stripping out anything that is non alphanumeric.
When IE renders this site note that there is not any extra table elemnents missing there are closing tags on all elements and no syntatical issues.
I have seen other sites with this issue in IE 9 on Windows 7.
A table is not ideal here but that is how it was written.
(Since I don't see an e-mail or anything to verify my account here is a "non-link" to my screenshot of an example)

Does anyone know how to solve this issue in IE? Also is a side by side of other browser results.
How to add a site to IE 10 Compatibility View with Domain GPO or Local GPO
I have an in-house non secure report site (not https) that runs fine under IE9 but now we need to upgrade to IE 10. How do I add the site to Compatibility View?
I tried several different settings in local GPO in Computer Configuration | Administrative Templates | Windows Components | Internet Explorer | Compatibility View and none of them seems work right.
I may miss something in my setup? thanks.

ie 11 fails with 'IE Security detected that the URL and the configuration link to not match
HI,
I Have a user that is using IE 11 and is getting the following error:
IE Security detected that the URL and the configuration link to not match. Please use the URL as configured. Is and IP based URL. On IE 10 we get a similar message, but as soon as we add it to our trusted site and switch to compatibility mode the issue goes away.
For example http://10.10.10.180/xxx/iafwebsite_810/
What would be causing this issue?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Trish

How can I edit the compatibility list? (iecompatdata.xml)
Compatible header field sent by the proxy/load balancer. The admins are unable to change it, but it breaks the site. If I open the development tools, I can manually change the document mode to IE 10 and it works. I believe that if the site were included in iecompatdata.xml with docMode="EmulateIE10" it would work right.
I can edit that file, but IE doesn't seem to recognize the changes. Is there any way to force it to keep my changes? Not being able to set a persistent override of my user experience is idiotic.
Edit: please note that I'm using IE 11 on Windows 8.1 x64IE 10 unable to upload
Internet Explorer 10 or 11 won't open

IE10 Scrollbar color issue
I have installed IE10 and I am wondering if there is a way to change the color of the scrollbar. The light grey is so light it's hard to see. I have tried a few things and searched around and come up with nothing. I love the preview otherwise and would like to keep it but this one thing might make me use another as I swap back and forth between IE and Comodo Dragon.
Thanks in advance,

How To Stop Internet Explorer 11 Prompting To Display Full-screen Mode
Is there a way to stop the desktop version of Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 8.1 from prompting whether you want a website to display content in full-screen mode?
When it displays the prompt "Do you want to view youtube.com in full screen? (Press Esc to exit.)", if you select 'Always Allow', it doesn't permanently remember this setting, as it will be reset when the browsing history is deleted. Surely there must be a setting somewhere to prevent it from displaying this prompt every time?
PAC file testing under Internet Explorer 10.
Hi folks,
Has support for the EnableAutoProxyResultCache registry entry outlined inthis support article ceased to be supported as of IE10? The fact IE10 isn't listed in the "applies to" section would indicate so, but I just want to double-check.
I need to do some testing of an auto-configuration script and cannot for the life of me get IE10 to request the PAC file for each new request. The problem I have is if the above method is no longer supported, I'm not sure what options I have as I'm not having a lot of luck searching for an alternative applicable to IE10 and later.
Cheers,

How to Import Favorites into IE11 on a New Win8.1 Computer Running Start8
I have a new Windows 8.1 laptop that I've installed Start8 on to emulate Win7. I used my Clickfree C6 to backup and restore data, and while the data restore went without a hitch, I simply cannot get my IE favorites imported.
I clicked on the downward arrow in the favorites section and clicked on Import Export favorites, tried to navigate to the file, but keep getting invalid file name error. The actual location of my favorites isn't in my Thispc documents, but rather in this subfolder: PC\Users\XXXXX\\ClickfreeRestored Files\XXXXX\Favorites
How the heck do I move these files?
IE Not Working since system restore!
So today I found a problem on my laptop so I did a system restore (factory setting) on HP G62.
Everything went fine, I was able to reset everything including reloading wireless information with password. The laptop then did an automatic update (which I knew was coming) it said it must be restarted. However, since the restart the IE is no longer working. I get error: unable to display webpage for websites that are simple like Google when I take a second try I get: the address is not valid.
Here is another interesting factor, the wireless icon in the lower right hand corner sometimes shows a yellow flag indicating local access only no internet connection.
I verified that the password to the wireless is typed in correctly.
The internet works fine on other devices.
The HP laptop is not indicating any other updates.
Without IE working at all, I cannot even try another browser so I can download one to try!
Can someone please help??

IE 11 with Languagpack deployment
Hello,
maybe someone had this problem before :
At the Moment we have IE 9 with multiple languagepacks installed and we want to deploy IE11.
From the IE11_main.log I got , that during the IE11 setup several languagepacks and spellingPacks ( the ones that we got in IE 9 ) are directly downloaded from Microsoft.
I couldnt find any Option to disable the automatic microsoft downloads, but i want to install the languagepacks afterwards from our internal sources. Our script will deploy a few hundreds computers and we dont want to download 20 languagepacks for every Computer from microsoft servers.
I tried it with the IEAK 11 , but the problem is the same, we just get several installers for the languages, but other languagepacks are still downloaded from Microsoft.
Thank you in advance for a your help
Marc

Is IE 11 Still In Preview?
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with all patches
I was forced to upgrade IE 8 as some of the sites I need to use no longer support it. I decided to go straight to IE 11. Unfortunately, many major sites (maps.yahoo.com, dice.com, etc.) do not work well with it and sometimes do not work at all. Is it still in preview mode or is it fully released?
Is IE 10 likely to have less compatibility problems? If so, can I just uninstall IE 11 and then install IE 10?
IE11 - no working
After adding the bellow code to my home webpage, I tried it, but it does not work. All it shows is a statement that says "Invalid source". However, the source is correct, the source is in the same folder as the index.html.
<video width="320" height="240" controls><source src="MyVideo.mp4" type="video/mp4"></video>What am I doing wrong?
