IE10 There is a problem with this website's security certificate.

I have seen lots of posts but no answers.

I have Windows 8 Pro RTM installed from MSDN. I am running IE10 and I go to my Linksys router and get the usual certificate error. In all previous versions of IE, you could just click continue and move forward. IE10 does not all this, please let me know where this setting is so I can use IE10, I hope I am not forced to use Chrome. Also there is no option to run as IE9 for some reason.

IE 11.0.9600.16438

Compatibility View (CV) is not working for local html files, even if "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View" checkbox is checked. Using F12 and emulate document mode, e.g. 8 is working, but a more permanent solution is wanted.

Further: How to choose sites and not only domain in the CV settings ?

IE 11 keeps re-installing itself

In the past when our clients got an IE update such as IE 9 or 10 it would sometimes cause certain older sites to stop functioning. An easy fix was just to uninstall the newest version of IE and it would revert back to the working version.

With IE 11 it seems that even after uninstalling IE 11 after 24 hours IE 11 will re-install itself through the microsoft updates.

Microsoft released an IE 10 and 11 patch that a user can install to block IE 10 or 11 from installing if you used the /B option. We have installed said patch for both 10 and 11 on multiple clients PCs and IE 11 still re-installs itself the next day.

Please advise.

Pinning Tabs in IE 11

Is it possible to pin tabs in IE 11? I don't mean pin them to the task bar, I mean pin them to stay open. Chrome allows us to right click and "pin tab" and it moves over to the left and remains open and returns to its place next time we open Chrome. Can we do this with IE 11?

All of my web based ActiveX apps (DVR, IP Cameras, ect) won't load after doing the windows update to upgrade IE 10 to IE 11. Tried running an ActiveX test online but all the results are saying that I'm not using IE even though I am using the newest and improved IE11 well at least according to Microsoft. Any help will be much appreciated, thanks.

Where did the "Dial whenever a network connection is not present" setting go?

After installing IE 11 my users are complaining that their air cards no longer work.

After doing some investigation it appears that the dial up options on the Connections tab on the Internet Options page are missing.  What happened to these settings?  They are needed to automate air cards.

IE 10 and earlier:

How do I disable the "Protected mode is currently turned off for the Internet zone" message?

The message is a waste of my screen real estate. Yes, Protected mode is turned off. Sure it is, I turned it off myself, and it will stay off. Now how do I disable this annoying nag message?

Also the messages about File Downloads. Never once in my life I clicked a download link by mistake. Yes, I'm clicking that dang URL, because I wan't to download that dang file, now get out my way, annoying warning message. How do I disable this one too? Thank you in advance

Internet Exporer 11: Disable search from address bar (entirely)

When we try to use internal websites (sites like hostname.some.subdomain.com:NNNN/some/path/ ) internet explorer 11 shows autocomplete entries for previous visits to those websites, but, when selected, it then searches bing for those URLs, and that makes very little sense to do.

it's an address bar. it's where addresses are typed in. I don't want internal website addresses (frankly, any website addresses) to turn into a bing search. I don't search from the address bar. Ever. In previous versions I could disable that, and in this version that option seems to have been replaced with "go directly if a single word is typed in [intranet site like "home" or "intranet" or "sharepoint", etc.] ", but that doesn't disable the search feature enough to avoid still continuing to search when internal websites are entered/selected in the address bar.

Is there some other place to disable the search, so that addresses typed into the address bar work?

IE 11 opens blank tab

IE 11 opens a blank new tab on a windows 7 64 bit computer. I have had this problem before. After much research the only thing I found to work was uninstalling 11 and reinstalling 10.  I cannot remember how I did that.  All I remember is it was a lot of work.  After a few months IE automatically updated back to 11 and the problem came back.  Is there an easier, more permanent solution?  When I click on a link that should open a new tab the address in the new tab appears to be the same as the old tab but the screen is blank.

Cannot install IE 10 after removing Internet Explorer 11

My biggest client is completely down because IE11 cannot correctly uninstall.

Internet Explorer 11 is not compatible with the medical EMR application and the Dell iDrac remote support programs that my clients use.

I have uninstalled IE 11, rebooted and attempted to install IE 9 and IE 10 but windows says that the program is already installed. The program is missing from the IE Program directory, there is no IE icon and searches for it on the machine cannot find the application.

There is no way that I can find to get IE working. I need a technical note to cleanup the registry or better yet a Fix from microsoft.

Please help!

I.E. 11 -- I've had it with this software

Tonight was the last straw. I.E. 11 is causing me more problems than any previous version so I'm switching to Chrome as my default browser. I.E. tries to do too much with all it's security stuff and it slows down the browsing a lot. At times it will not open a page, at times it just freezes, at times it takes forever to load a page, and frequently after I close it I get an error message saying I.E. has quit working and Microsoft is trying to find a solution. I have been on forums and looked at all the myriad of suggestions to try and resolve these issues, I have tried many of them and nothing resolves the problem. I go to Chrome and none of the bad stuff happens. I.E. 11 is not ready for prime time in my opinion and I'm no longer going to get the arrows in my back while Microsft takes a year or more to get the bugs out of this product. It should not have been released when it was.

My system is i7 4770K, Asus Sabertooth Z87 Motherboard, 16 GB memory, ATI Radeon 7950 video card and Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

SBS 2011 & Windows 8.1 & IE 11

Hello,

this seems to be a bug with IE 11 (Windows 8.1). It is not possible to connect to the Remote Web Access Website:

- first you are not able to change the language IE sets default english
- after you log in with your credentials you get a 404, some wrong redirects.

It is allways redirecting to "https://remote.domain.tld/~/logon?ReturnUrl=%2fremote%3f". If you try after sucessfull logon to manually enter the correct URL "https://remote.domain.tld/remote/" you alos get redirected to the above URL wich results in a 404.

Firefox and Chrome doing it right.

Any help is welcome, even better is if MS gets this fixed ;-)

Cheers
Yves

Trouble with javascript in IE 11

Last week I installed Windows 8.1 Pro x64 which of course comes with Internet Explorer 11. I have some training videos which I play in Internet Explorer with table of contents on the left side. When I click on any topic in table of contents nothing happens. When I point to any of these topic in status bar of IE 11 the following appears:javascript:SeekTime(time in seconds); so it seems that javascript function which exists in video training files and moves video to wanted time (topic in TOC) is not called or executed.

When I had Windows 7 Pro with SP1 x64 and Internet Explorer 10 everything worked fine. In fact I tested Windows 7 Pro with SP1 x64 machine and Internet Explorer 11 and the same problem depicted above happens again. Obviously IE 11 causes this problem.

Please help me, I do not want to go backwards and have Windows 7 and IE 10 again but I want to be able to play my training videos normally.

Internet Explorer 10 cookies and roaming profiles (WebCache directory)

Hi,

I'm having a cookie problem on 2 out of 2 tested environments using Windows Server 2008 R2 (with roaming profiles) and Internet Explorer 10 (IEAK'ed) :S

For instance when I login to www.google.com with my username and password, as long as I'm using my Windows session I'm logged in towww.google.com every time I open the browser (with all iexplore.exe processes closed before). When I logoff my Windows session my (roaming) profile is beeing saved on the fileserver and the locally cached Windows profile is beeing deleted.

When I logon to Windows again (on the same computer) the roaming profile is beeing copied from the fileserver to my client (including the .txt cookies), butwww.google.com isn't logging me in automatically. The same thing happens with other cookies related stuff on websites :S

Also tried WITH and WITHOUT folder redirection for AppData/Cookies/etc, even a newly installed environment with Microsoft defaults is giving me problems.

Anybody out there having the same problem ?

I used to be able to position my curser over one of the items in the Today's Highlights and it would provide a larger view of that item.  This allows you to see the item and decide to read it or not.  Now, since I downloaded IE 11, when I put curser over the item it just shows the first item and doesn't change it to the one you have the curser on.  I'm not sure what type of software allows this to happen like Java etc. so it's probably just one of the advanced settings in the internet tools.  Need some help please.

Every web page keeps asking me what I want to do with .htm ? Save as? Open Internet Explorer 11

when I open any website on Internet Explorer 11 I get a pop up asking me if I want to save the file or open it? If I click open then a privacy box appears.

This is probably one of the most annoying issues I've seen so far..  Is there a fix for this?
