Hello. I have an install of win 8.1. IE 11 is frequently going into a weird status, and will then not download pictures, or allow file downloads, and doesn't display most web pages correctly. Not sure if it is attempting to go into a high security mode, but some pages will give a "javascript needs enabled" error.

I have found that if I go into IE settings - advanced and do a basic reset, IE will then work normally for a while, until something happens

I have "protected Mode" enabled through group policy, would this be causing this behavior? and how would I best get this corrected.

Hello,

I using İnternet Explorer 11 with Windows 8.1
When I try sign to web site with user name and password  gave a message" must be cokkie enable for sign in this page".

I tried privacy setting-low level "accept all cookies". But is not solve problem. I tried allow this domain in sites. not solve problem. Hot to Am ı solve this problem another way ?

Hello all,

Internet Explorer 11 automatically installed on my computer and now I'm having trouble logging into several sites (notably my online bank site and eBay).  I want to go back to IE 10 or even 9 but haven't found a way to do that.  So far I've tried:

1. Turning IE 11 off (since you can't uninstall it)
2. Tried to install IE 10 but it says it's already installed (the same goes for IE 9)
3. Tried to find the .exe file for 9 or 10 (since it's still installed) but every iexplore.exe opens IE 11 and no other.
4. My last resort will be to do a complete computer restore to an earlier date before IE 11 was installed.  But I hate to do that.

The error I get on eBay is "If you are seeing this page, your browser settings prevent you for automatically redirecting to a new URL."   I can log in fine with Google Chrome but get nowhere with IE 11.  I’ve tried to find the settings that prevent a page from redirecting but can find nothing, plus IE 11 is totally different from previous versions so have to figure out where the settings even are.

Can anyone offer any suggestions or tips to help me get back to an earlier version of Internet Explorer?  I’m really frustrated with IE all together now and if there is no solution, I’ll just stay with Google Chrome.

We have had a few users download and install the Window 8.1 OS. Apparently this version forces Internet Explorer 11. Unfortunately IE 11 is having some compatibility issues that aren't resolved when using compatibility mode.  Is there really not a way to use a different version of IE on Windows 8.1?

Dear All,

I have just installed Internet Explorer 11 on my Windows 7 x64 system. It all went smoothly except for certain feeds not displaying correctly. After a bit of investigation it seems FeedBurner feeds are the ones which do not work.

Any of the FeedBurner feeds I was subscribed to previously display a webpage instead of the standard feed view, and cannot be marked as read. Also, if I try to subscribe to a new FeedBurner feed, there is no "Subscribe to this feed" link to click on, only the same webpage.

I have also noticed that the only Medium.com feed I am subscribed to only displays the XML code of the feed, not the standard feed view. There is only one of those, so I cannot say if it is general or not; but the FeedBurner issue is general though.

Is this a general occurrence? If so, when can we expect a solution?

Hello,

I am trying to configure branding settings for all users who log onto a machine. I have gone through the wizard, selected the option to silent install, set the things I want such as favourites and browser title, then created an GPO to deploy the package. the package gets installed but users can't see my branding. if I manually install the package as a local admin, the local admin can see the changes but other users can't.

do I need to install this per user or at the computer level in the GPO? I have currently tried both but neither work.

maybe I am missing something else

Hi

I have win 8.1 and IE11. To be honest I am about at the end of the line with IE. It is hard to understand how MS could have a brought out a browser which fails in so many web sites. This is a browser which installed itself with default setting of clear cookies on exit and a setting hidden away that made Google unusable. Dev tools on it are unclear and no longer work properly. It feels like madness.

Anyway, my particular pet hate (well one among many actually) is that the accelerator for wikipedia no longer works if I search for two word or more. eg  I select "James brown" on a webpage and click the accelerator it arrives at Wikipedia as "James+Brown" which gives no results.

The same annoying think happens if you type "James brown" into the address bar which is supposed to be a search bar but does not work at all. You end up with "Page cannot be displayed" andhttp://james%20brown/ in the address bar.

I was in a meeting the other day about a new website and someone raised the issue of what version of IE should they make it compatible with. However after a brief discussion it was decided that as less then 10% of users were on IE on the current site and that figure was halving every six month, it was not worth the bothering about.

Anyway if I wish to continue with IE I need to fix the issue of the search and accelerator so if there is an answer I would be grateful.

Occationally, Internet Explorer v8 - 11 will crash, be updated, or even closed normally. Upon restarting the "Restore Previous Browsing Session" option will be grayed out.

Research is one of my job functions, and this can be infurating to have many tabs open and then have it be all lost.  On any computer other than my work computer I have had to begin to use Chrome or Firefox for reliability of restoring tabs.

At work this is not an option, and now more of my users are having this problem as well.

From what I can tell, Internet Explorer uses the folders located at:

C:\Users\mdavis\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Recovery

...to store current and last session tab information.

So when IE crashes or is restarted and this option is not available, but all of the DAT files are still contained in that location under Active or Last active, is there a way to reopen these tabs?

And why do I have so much information in these folders.  Some of these folders and DAT are last modified in 2011.  Can I delete it and will it help?

I having a weird problem with the tag <audio>. The page has <!doctype html> in header.

Sometimes, the audio file is loaded normally and plays normally, but other times don't. In a debbuging mode, adding a EventListener in each event, sometimes it only load this event: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/av_event_loadstart.asp and doesn't completes the loading process.


In other browser, the audio plays normally always.


The big problem is this tag works in IE9, but only sometimes. :(  

I have no ideia where the problem should be.

This Web browser is not supported by RD Web Access. RD Web Access requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or later.I keep receiving this message. How can I fix this?

We have a Win2008R2 domain and just updated all the Win7 Clients to IE10. I have created a new GPO to push proxy and some other settings, which (after a struggle) seem to work now. However, after i unlinked and disabled the legacy GPO containing IE Branding settings, it is still displayed by it's GPOGUID when i run gpresult and therefore also causing an error, stating:

"Internet Explorer Branding failed due to the error listed below. The specified procedure could not be found."

That doesn't happen with freshly created profiles but with all the existing ones. As if the old GPO was still linked and active. How can you force the clients to forget about that particular GPO?

Hi All,

I am testing some Windows 7 builds with IE10 installed and when I do a Resultant Set of Policies on them they all have an error in the user section of the GPOs as shown in the image.

To investigate I unlinked all the IE policies from the OU and rebuilt the PCs and wiped the user accounts' roaming profiles (local already wiped with the format of the HDD for the rebuild) but still get the same error even with no IE policies applied. I have looked through RSOP and there are no settings applied either under the maintenance section or under Admin Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer.

Please can someone fill me on how to stop this error from showing?

Hi all,

I have IE10 x64 and Win 7 x64 + SP1, but my IE cannot open any page. I mean, when I type any URL in IE, loads and then display an blank page to me. The title is blank, the page is blank. All the other application that use a embedded explorer control also displays nothing. 

• Click settings icon: The "About Internet Explorer" is gray. Many other menus are gray (such as "Print" and "Save as").
• Right click on the blank page,  no context menu displayed.
• Tried to run IE without extension, the issue.
• disabled GPU rendering won't fix the issue.
• uninstall then re-install won't fix the issue.
• run "sfc /scannow", say nothing goes wrong.
• Google chrome works properly.

UPDATE:

Press alt to call out menu bars, most of the menu items doesn't work, except those in the View menu. (View source doesn't work, either.) 

ENVIRONMENT:

IE version: 10.0.9200

Windows 7 (6.1 build 7601 Service Pack 1)

Display Card: nVidia GTS 450

UPDATE: Uninstalled IE 10, IE 9 still displaying blank pages. It might be something wrong with the system. Ho can tell me how to fix?

UPDATE2: Do iediagcmd.exe then regsvr32 on some dlls, then re-install IE 10, now menus are recovered, local files can be properly displayed on IE if launched with. But if I start IE then tried to load pages, not working; loading a remote HTML page is still broken.

UPDATE3: IE 11 still not working.

UPDATE4: 

A new upgrade install of Windows 7 (with SP1) solves this issue. There might be registry error.

I had to reset my Internet Explorer 9 browser on Windows Vista and my Internet Explorer 10 browser on Windows 7 the other day and now I can no longer view the Outlook Mail Website or the Outlook Calendar website, etc. They keep making the browsers close. I've had this problem before, but I can't remember how I fixed things. Can someone please help me out? I can view these web pages in the Google Chrome browser for time being.

I have a website that I am troubleshooting. I did not build it but took it over when the guy left. I only have some classes to rely on for knowledge so I am asking for help. I have an "Accordion" style menu on the left side. The accordion works for Firefox and Chrome but stopped in IE 11. I have been using the F12 menu and it flags a "(createElement("div")" The error is "object doesn't support this property or method" Everything works fine in compatibility mode. IE 9.0 always shows cached version of PDF file not updated one. Can i know what is the cause of this issue in IE. Actually same issue was occur in IE 8.0 but i've changed security setting to default. As a result, IE8.0 shows updated PDF not from cache version. But same workaround doesn't sort out this issue in IE 9.0.

 

I'd appreciate to providing solution to this.

Hi,

I'm feeling really dumb but I can't figure out how to view the details of an SSL certificate in IE11.

On previous version of IE you would simply click on the padlock that appears in the address bar and then select view certificate. On IE11 the padlock does not appear. The particular problem I'm having is that I'm trying to diagnose why Windows 8.1 with IE11 is rejecting a perfectly valid cert. All I get is a screen telling me that there is a problem with the certificate (it says that the cert is revoked) but no details and I can't figure out how to view the details.
