What is "The 'virtual storage mount notification' add-on from 'eldos corporation'

I just installed IE9 (public release), and I'm seeing a pop-up at the bottom of the browser window that states:

"The 'Virtual Storage Mount Notification' add-on from 'EldoS Corporation' is ready for use."

Does anyone know what this is exactly?

IE11 on Windows 10 won't open Favorites when Favorites are redirected and Enhanced Protected Mode is enabled

When you click on a Favorite in Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 10 (1607), IE only opens a blank page.

We could narrow that problem down - it apparently only occurs if Favorites are redirected to a file share and Enhanced Protected Mode ist enabled.

It works fine in IE11 on Windows 7 though using the same configuration (redirected Favorites + Enhanced Protected Mode).

As of about three days ago, any window I open with Internet Explorer browser, the text is so small, I can hardly see it, let alone read it.  This is only occurring with Explorer windows.  I sometimes use Google Chrome and it has not been effected this way.  How do I get the printed text back to normal size?

Hi,

I want to perform Enterprise Site Discovery on a environment where Win7 Sp1, windows 8.1, windows 10 machines are available, now I want to save all site discoveries in a single XML file or single SCCM report

I am able to collect data from a single windows 10 machine, using this blog's help

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/itpro/internet-explorer/ie11-deploy-guide/collect-data-using-enterprise-site-discovery

but I am unable to collect data from win 7 , windows 8.1 machine on a single xml or SCCM report

A)Moreover the Site discovery toolkit contains two group policy files in ADMX, adl format, I could not identify their usage, pliz help me how to use these files

B)We have almost 150+ machines in our infra, If we need to collect all telemetry data in  from all 150 machines

How to achieve that??

Thanks in advance

iframe src attribute not working with javascript xhr request

Hello,

I have the following javascript that works very well in Chrome and Firefox but it fails with IE/Edge

 if (xmlHttp.readyState == 4 && xmlHttp.status == 200) {
        var isIE = (navigator.userAgent.indexOf("MSIE") != -1);
        if (isIE === true) {
            manageProfileIframe.setAttribute("src", "data\:text/html," + xmlHttp.response);
        } else {
            manageProfileIframe.srcdoc = xmlHttp.response;
        }

Using the Network tab in F12 Dev Tools, I observe that I get good response body but the iframe that appears is empty. Like somehow the iframe would get the source before the xmlHttp.response is ready..

Any help would be much appreciated

Regards,

Alex

IE11 tab opens by itself!

Okay I have tried to search for an answer to this problem without any luck. There are several similar issues but nothing that matches what I am seeing. The computer was reported to be running slow so I logged into the local administrator to have a look. It didn't seem to be all that slow to me, until I tried to use IE11. The browser hadn't been used in this profile before so I got the first launch experience. I answered the prompts and waited for IE to do it's thing, which it appeared to do without any problem. A second tab opened with the typical first launch options but then things got weird. The screen started flashing between panes and it looked like from tab to tab. I couldn't do anything so I closed IE in the hopes that it was a fluke and would go away. When I opened IE again everything seemed good for about 5 to 10 seconds, but then a second tab popped up all by itself. This is important, I did not do anything to cause the tab to open, it did it all by itself! There was some flashing between screens and I don't really know if I would have been able to brows or not. I tried closing the extra tab and at first I could not, but then it did close. A few seconds latter it opened right back up again. I updated MacAfee and ran a full scan but found nothing. Then I tried to install Ad Aware but it failed. I may have to simply re-image this machine but it is possible that I may have several other machines with this same problem and I'd like to know if there is a fix.

Problem loading iframe with Edge

Hi everyone,

I have this code that works excellent with any browser but not with Edge 14 on windows 10 mobile (Lumia 950)

Code:

if (xmlHttp.readyState == 4 && xmlHttp.status == 200) {
            manageProfileIframe.setAttribute("src", "data\:text/html," + xmlHttp.response);

In Edge on mobile, the Iframe shows:

hmm, we can't reach this page.
Try this
Make sure you’ve got the right web address: data:text/html,<!doctype html><html lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org
Refresh the page
Search for what you want

You're not connected
And the web just isn’t the same without you.
Let’s get you back online
Make sure you’re not in airplane mode.
See if your wireless switch is turned on.
Go to network settings

==============

xmlHttp.response is very simple, has the header and a simple paragraph in the body

Thanks,

Alex

Trusted sites disappear after adding

IE 7 and IE 8

You can add URL's to Trusted sites - but after accepting, when opening the list again the new site is gone !

The problem appear to be there only AFTER one of our GPO's setting these trusted sites via a .reg file, has run.

The GPO is calling a .cmd file executing the .reg file

We don't use setting trusted sites via the policy "site to zone assignment list", because this totally blocked (dimmed out) the buttons for adding trusted sites i IE.

This Microsoft KB describes the same problem: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307907 But we don't use IEAK.

Any ideas ?

I am having an issue adding an IP address to trusted sites for all users. I have tried using Google to change the registry for the local machine. I have also tried using gpedit under "Site to Zone Assignment List" and it also doesn't work.

I don't want to use group policy. I would like to do this with regedit.

I am using Windows Server 2008 R2.

Problem with IE 11 mshtml document.

I have two systems that are identical.  When I run the following code in powershell.  The Document is mshtml.HTMLDocumentClass.  But when I run the same code on the other system.  The Document is System.__ComObject.

Why is the Document different on the other system.  When I try to do a getelementbyID.  It works when the document is of type mshtml.HTMLDocumentClass.  But it fails when document is of type System.__ComObject.

I have the same version of IE version 11.  The same version of powershell version 3.0.

False certificate error on https://online.adp.com/portal/login.html

When using IE 11 everybody in my organization who tries to do their time-cards ( https://online.adp.com/portal/login.html ) gets a certificate error that the certificate authority isn't valid. This happens to everyone who uses IE. Some people get around it with Chrome. Others get the same error using Chrome. It doesn't happen ever in Firefox. Searching hasn't yielded any useful results. I did try checking all the boxes (with and without "Preserve Favorites Website Data checked) in the Delete Browsing History dialogue. I've ensured that *.adp.com is in my trusted sites. I have tried proxies. This does not occur with any other HTTPS site that I'm aware of. Any help is appreciated.

Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 in Advanced settings and try connecting tohttps://www.spacex.com again. If this error persists, it is possible that this site uses an unsupported protocol or cipher suite such as RC4(link for the details), which is not considered secure. Please contact your site administrator.

which is misleading....

resolution: try using the http protocol instead eg. http://spacex.com . Use the File>Properties menu to determine which IE security zone you have mapped the domain to... if it has been mapped to the Intranet Zone (and require secure connections (https)), remove the domain from the Trusted Sites list.

HTTP Certificate client authentication

$

Hi all,

I have a problem with the resolution of a case that I will explain below.

In our environment (intranet) we have a website portal that requires http certificate client authentication.
Subsequently the selection of the right cert from the store, the web service read the FQDN from the certificate's subject and
based on that permit the access to the portal.

Now, we can deploy the certificate on the machine with autoenrollment, based on our PKI (Window Server 2012 AD CS).
The problem is that IE (or any other internet browser) read only from the user keystore (LocalMachine\My) while
the right certificate is on the computer keystore (CurrentUser\My).
How can I figure out this situation?
If I export the certificate from the machine keystore and next import to the user keystore everything works fine but
I don't want mark the key as exportable in cert template and, however, this would make everything more complicated.

I appreciate any suggestions to accomplish that
Thanks in advance
