My IE 10 on Windows 8 all of sudden defaults all sites to .cz (Czech) domain and froze out, while Firefox and Chorme are still working fine.

My IE 10 started yesterday with every site I tried to browse being re-directed to domain .cz (Czech) while sitting at home in NJ (i.e. google.com was directed to google.cz; youtube.com was directed to youtube.cz. etc) and IE became froze. I cannot browse any site using IE 10 since yesterday. However, I have no problem with Firefox or Chrome. Any suggestions what went wrong and how to fix it?

Thanks

IE9 and IE10 cannot download/open any files

We are seeing this issue pretty consistently across the board with IE9 and IE10, and everything we have researched has not worked.  We notice that if we are logged in as administrator on a computer  (both PC's running Windows 7 and zero-client terminals), we do not experience the issue.   When we log back in as the user, we cannot open, save, or save as any downloads.

We have deleted all appropriate registry entries, removed and reinstalled IE9 and IE10 on different computers, removed any group policy that may apply to our internet settings for testing, and removed our av program for testing only.

Across the net we see multiple questions on this issue, but no clear-cut answer.  Has anyone come up with a standard answer for this?  Very frustrating...we didn't experience this on the same systems, same operating system, when we were on IE8.

IE 10 will not install in Windows 7 64 bit SP1

I go past the prompt that says "restarting programs".  Then the installation fails.  The updates are all up to the minute.

Please help me install IE 10

Here is the log.  Same error in three tries.  It gives the IE10 Failed to install message.

Applet not opening in Internet Explorer 10 64 bit

Hi

I have a Windows 7 enterprise 64 bit laptop with Internet Explorer 10. (Complete version 10.0.9200.16438 Update versions: Pre-Release(KB2718695)) which is for 64 Bit.

I have JRE 1.7.0_25-b17 (64 Bit) installed in my machine. When I invoke the http:// www . java.com / en / download / testjava.jsp page. The applet is not invoking.

I have tried the below options:

Internet Explorer:

Click Tools and then Internet Options
Select the Security tab, and select the Custom Level button
Scroll down to Scripting of Java applets
Make sure the Enable radio button is checked

Java Control Panel

In the Java Control Panel, click the Security tab.
Select the option Enable Java content in the browser.

But the applet is not invoking.

If I uninstall the 64 bit JRE & install a 32 Bit JRE, the applet is invoking.

I have tried with 64 bit JRE, with IE 8.0 & 9.0, the applet is invoking. In case of IE 8.0 & 9.0 it displays two Internet Explorer options in my start up one with 64bit & one with out.

But IE 10.0 64 bit does not show such option.

Please let me know how to resolve this issue.

EPM AppContainer deleted when InPrivate session ends?

I’m using Windows 8 Pro 64-bit and IE 10 with Enhanced Protected Mode.  Protected Mode is enabled for all security zones.

It seems that whenever an InPrivate session ends, the AppContainer “windows_ie_ac_122”, which is used for the Trusted Sites zone, is deleted.

Is there any explanation for this behavior, if it’s expected?  Or what could I be doing wrong?  Thanks.

Internet Explorer(other programs that relies on http) issue

Internet Explorer (other programs that relies on http like Firefox, lotus notes email) won't luanch of if launch it takes ages and very slow (not responding) when connected to a vpn and logged in as controlled domain user. It does not happen with a local user logged on or domain admin account. Is there any GPO that may be causing the issue?

Tried un-installing recent windows security update patched just to see if that causes the issue but it did not make any difference.

Thank very much in advance.

Some settings are managed by your system administrator (Win7 Ult x64, IE 10 x64)

I've looked at the proposed answers and some users were not helped.  The suggestion below worked for me, and it differs from the proposed answers I've looked at.  Why am I unable to post this as a reply to other threads?

This worked for me (Win7 Ult x64, IE10 x64)

1.    Click Start, type gpedit.msc and press Enter.
2.    Navigate to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Internet Explorer.
3.    Double-click “Allow deleting browsing history on exit” on the right pane
4.    Choose “Not Configured” and click OK.
5.    No Restart is required.

-- 'Not Configured' simply allows the current, local user (with sufficient rights) to select or deselect 'Delete browsing history on exit' on the 'General' tab of the 'Internet Options' dialog (without the "Some settings are managed by your system administrator" notification appearing), instead of making the setting one that is controlled by Group Policy.  i.e. in a domain setting, a user must have 'Domain Administrator' privileges to set this value using 'Group Policy' under Active Directory, causing every machine to be so configured upon joining the domain.  Put another way, in such a corporate setting, the 'administrator' referred to in "Some settings are managed by your system administrator" notification is someone with 'Domain Administrator' rights, which a local 'Administrator' does not have, by default.

If the local machine is not part of a domain OR, I suspect but cannot verify, if the local machine is part of a domainAND the 'Domain Admin' has not set this value in the group policy pushed out to individual machines, the local administrator can set this value to 'Yes' in local group policy, causing the "Some settings are managed by your system administrator" notification to appear, with the selections greyed out.  It's easy to plink around in Group Policy without realizing the implications of a particular choice, as I admit in my case.

To avoid this confusion, perhaps "Some settings are managed by your system administrator" should change to "Some settings are managed by yourdomain administrator", if the local machine is joined to a domain and the setting is determined by group policy, or "Some settings are managed by group policy, and can be changed by a user with Administrator privileges on this machine".  Or something to that effect.

internet explorer 10 "acts" like it's an old version

Most website I navigate to with IE 10 cause a prompt that says, "you appear to be using an OLD version of IE, upgrade.." or similar verbiage. Usually the prompt has links to FF, Opera, Chrome and .... you guessed it! IE 10!! When I click on IE 10, it says I already have the latest greatest...yet I am blocked from using SOOOOO MANY websites with IE, that I just might enable FF as my "default" .... I did change the setting for "compatibility" so that a piece of quickbooks (loan manager) would run properly, but otherwise it's a myster. I am using Windows 7 Home by the way.....so far I haven't heard of another single human being on earth having this issue ...googling has revealed nothing so far. Not a big deal but for such an huge and strange issue I'm surprised it's not cropping up all over the net. thanks for any leads.

IE 10 install failure on Win 7 SP1 x64

I am unable to install IE 10, I get this error:

"Internet Explorer did not finish installing"

I checked the troubleshooter, here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2820688, and nothing on that article helped. I am using the x64 installer, I don't have any other pending Windows Updates, I have all of the pre-reqs installed, I'm on the latest video drivers from ATI, and I tried rebooting my computer.

Appendix A here suggests a few additional items that didn't help: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj822323.aspx

Internet Explorer 9 Start Menu Icons

$

I am having trouble where when some users log in to machines for the first time they ONLY get a 64bit IE icon and it says "Internet Explorer" (not Internet Explorer 64bit)  Other user log in and get both Internet Explorer (pointing to x86 directory) and Internet Explorer 64bit.   I can't figure out what is happening.

There are all newly installed machines where no users have previously logged in running Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit. We do not have raoming user profiles enabled.  All users in the scenario below are non-administrative users.

The machines were installed on Sept 7 with Internet Explorer 8 installed.

At 4:00AM on Sept 12, I deployed a IE 9 installer customized with IEAK using SCCM.  The installer exited with a 3010 status and I reboot.

At 6:00AM  on Sept 12 User#1 logged in.  Looking at her profile c:\users\<username>\roaming\microsoft\windows\start menu\programs...  I see two IE icons 32 and 64bit (correct!)

At 1:13 on Sept 13 User#2 logged in.  Looking in the user start menu folder I see only one IE icon "Internet Explorer" and it is pointing to the 64bit Program Files folder path (incorrect!)

At 1:30 on Sept 13 User 3 loggs in with the same outcome as user 2.

at 3:10 on Sept 13 User 4 logs in and the user gets both icons in their profile. (correct)

at 3:30 on Sept 13 user 5 logs in and also has correct pair of IE icons

I can't figure out what in the world is going on.  This is not isolated to a single computer, but is hapening on multiple machines that were upgraded to IE 9.  It seems random what users get the single incorrect IE icon or the correct pair of icons with both bitnesses.  Any ideas?

Internet Explorer 10 stopped working in Windows 7 Home Premium

Hi,

My computer had IE9. For two years it tried to auto update service pack 1. Finally I burned it to disc, installed SP1 then downloaded IE10. It starts to work fine but updates (perhaps) have made my old 'ice pen' 'not accessible'. OK.

Now suddenly, I try to open IE 10 and it just buffers then says cannot load page - either UK MSN or bing.com. I'm connected to the internet. Google Chrome works fine. I've re-installed IE10 to no avail. The icon is on my taskbar but IE does not appear in my program list. Its as if it is there but is not activated or a working program anymore.

I was a vicitim of opening a message that forwarded itself to all my contacts with links a few months ago. It was a pain and it forwarded itself to my work email and now at work I keep getting 'quarantined spam' messages but my webroot protection finds no threats.

I want IE back. It has all my favourites and I'm used to using it. But it looks like i'll have to use Google chrome instead.

Can anyone help please?

"C:\fakepath" issue with HTML5 file upload control in Internet Explorer

$

Hi Team,

We are developing Office apps, which consists of HTML5 and JavaScript pages. To protect business logic, we are planning to obfuscate source codes (especially JavaScript files) with free/paid tools.

As per functionality of the office app, we browse file(s) and get the file path. With original source code, we are able to get file path correctly. But with obfuscated code (obfuscated using free/paid tools), we are getting file path as “C:\fakepath\<FileName>” irrespective of file location.

We tried with sample HTML5 page and one JavaScript file with browse functionality without office app context. Its same behavior.

We found that as per specifications of HTML5, file upload control should not reveal the real local path (details…). If this is the case, why it is showing correct path with original source code? Our requirement is to get real local path of file when JavaScript is obfuscated. How to get the correct path (without doing modification in IE settings)?

Thanks in Advance

IE10 CacheLimit (Disk space to be used) IEAK 10

Hi,

I`m trying to deploy IE 10 for a few machines and the only requisite is to set the "Disk space to be used" setting to use max of 65MB.

Tried IEAK10 but it seems to put the value in KB. After install when i open Internet Settings i see the value 65537 and  it tells me that value is too high then changes to 1024MB (1GB).

Eg. If i set 1MB (the minimum) in IEAK after the installation i'll see 1024MB in Internet Settings > Configurations. So i`m not able to set less than 1GB max cache size...

Found on INETCORP.INF the sections below. Tried to change all those values manually in regedit but still not working.

[AddRegSection.HKLM]
HKLM,"Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\Cache\Content","CacheLimit",0x10001,0,4,0,0
HKLM,"Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Cache","UserProfiles",0x10001,1,0,0,0
HKLM,"Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\Cache\Content","PerUserItem",0x10001,1,0,0,0
[AddRegSection.HKCU]
HKCU,"Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings","SyncMode5",0x10001,4,0,0,0
HKCU,"Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\Cache\Content","CacheLimit",0x10001,0,4,0,0

Any idea on how to deploy those IE 10 settings?

Unable to download after downgrading from IE10

$

At the enterprise I work at Internet Explorer 10 was installed automatically by accident, there were a lot of websites that were incompatible so we had to downgrade to IE9.  Since then on 100% of the computers users are unable to download ANYTHING. If you try to download something from any webpage (including Microsoft) you will either get a "unable to download" or nothing happens.  The one commonality is that these computers are Windows 7 64-bit SP1.  Other than that they were loaded by different people using different images.

So as of right now not even Windows Updates works, you can't even view downloads in IE.  Here are just some of the steps I've done to fix this.

Reset IE
Restore Advanced Settings
Allow basically everything in security settings
Change temporary internet files location
Delete Temp file
Delete all history, download history, temporary internet files
Add "SkipSSLNoCacheCheck" and "SkipHTTPNoCacheCheck" in registry
Re-register every DLL I can find

I believe the problem has something to do with caching because the SkipSSLNoCacheCheck registry entries will fix it if you downgrade from IE10 all the way back down to IE8.  But it does not work with IE9.  Given that this has affected every computer we've downgraded on I've got to believe that other people have experienced this.  Anyone?

EDIT: I notice that in the History Settings page the Current Location is blank and I can't change the Check for newer versions of stored pages as well as the Disk space to use is always 0 and I'm unable to change that.  Also pressing Alt + J doesn't do anything.

I've got to believe this is a bug in Internet Explorer.  I've tried all the normal things to fix, delete temporary internet files, history, cookies folders.  Change locations in registry.  Etc.. etc..
