Dear All,

I am facing issue with Microsoft Edge, not able to open any internet website showing below error....

Hmm, we can't reach this page. Try this <id id="dnserror_unavailable_righturl" style="font-size:0.75em;line-height:1.5;">Make sure you’ve got the right web address:</id>http://google.co.in

If I am using other browser like IE 11 or Google Chrome internet is perfectly working fine, So there is not any issue related with Internet connection or network adapter.

I have also reset Microsoft edge browser with below command run under powershell....

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml" -Verbose}

Plz help me out this critical situation.

Hey,

I have a lot of Win7 SP1 PCs here on which I receive an WMI timeout error during Internet Explorer 11 installation.
Error is the following (always with the same hotfix):

WMI query for Hotfixes timed out. Query string: 'Select HotFixID from Win32_QuickFixEngineering WHERE HotFixID="KB2729094"'  Error: 0x00040004 (262148).

If I run the same query in powershell it takes long, but it ends with success.

Get-WMIObject -Query $('Select HotFixID from Win32_QuickFixEngineering WHERE HotFixID="KB2729094"') -Namespace "ROOT\CIMv

What I already tried was to reinstall the hotfix.
I although applied hotfix KB2834140 of slow WMI and tried to repair the WMI with following batch:

sc config winmgmt start= disabled
net stop winmgmt /y
%SYSTEMDRIVE% >nul
cd %windir%\system32\wbem
For /f %%s in ('dir /b *.dll') do regsvr32 /s %%s
wmiprvse /regserver
winmgmt /regserver
net start winmgmt

But all without success. If I reistall the device installation works without problems, but it is not possible for me to reinstall nearly all my devices newly.

We started experiencing an issue with some customers unable to browse out to the internet.  Manually setting their proxy server to the proxy.server.com address works, but not when we use the http:\\proxy.pac. In the auto configuration script area on a working machine entering the http:\\proxy.pac in the address bar prompts for you to download/open the pac.  On the non working machine it ALSO cant reach the destination.  If *I* log on to the machine it works as intended.  We are using preferences to push these settings and over 22,000 machines are working correctly.  But recently a number of people have started to experience this issue, and we are perplexed.  thoughts?

I am using internet explorer 11.  OS is windows 8.1 64 bit.  Device is a laptop

Is IE 11 compatible with the OS i am using?  IE 11 will freeze up and not respond about two or three time per day.  It will do it on regular websites that I go to every day like Wells Fargo, ESPN, CNN, Facebook, etc.  I am not able to hit ctrl - alt - delete because it doesn't respond so end up having to restart my computer.  Any ideas on how to fix this on going issue?

Good morning all,

I have a RDS Environment. Session Hosts, Collection Brokers, Web servers and Gateway servers are all Windows 2012 R2. GPO are used to lockdown and configure the uses sessions and desktops. This is a terminal server deployment, not a virtualized desktop deployment. Users' profile are stored via profile disks. The browser used in this environment is IE 11, not Edge.

When an end users downloads a pdf file, they receive two prompt in succession. The first asks: "Do you want to save 'PDF file name' from 'website url'?". This first prompt has a 'Save' button and an 'Cancel' button. It does not have an 'Open' button. The website url is in the Trusted security zone for IE 11. If the users click the 'Save' button, the second  prompt states: "The 'PDF file name' download has completed." This second prompt has an 'Open' button, 'Open folder' button and 'View downloads' button.

When an Admin downloads a PDF, they receive only one prompt. It asks: "Do you want to open or save 'PDF file name' from 'website url'?". This prompt has three butons: 'Open', 'Save', and Cancel.

What configuration or configurations are set in GPOs to cause this double prompts?

My goal is to have all users have only one prompt with three buttons, like the admin users.

Is there a way to define what program IE11 will use to open a JPEG? I know that you can download the JPEG but I would like to know if it could be defined in IE11 to open JPEGs in Paint or Photo viewer or some other external program.

I have been looking for a fix to the upgrade splash screen received in Internet explorer 10. I cannot update to IE 11 my company needs to stay on IE 10 due to websites used. I have applied the registry fixes mentioned but that is not working. I have 6 RDS server running 2008 r2. Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a forum for Win10 Edge?

I am unable to save web pages in the "Favourites Bar" and when selecting a item from a folder in the "Favourites Bar", Win10 Edge crashes.

How can I fix this problem?

I am very frustrated with Windows 10 IE. My V11 lags compared to other browsers and stalls when I click on links for a while, freezing often. Sometimes it will not open a new tab at all.

How do I stay logged into websites as I installed anti virus and its completely messed everything up and now if I even leave the page for a minute it logs me out even through I've now uninstalled it. There is no stay logged in button and the clear cookies option is unticked so it isn't that.
The problem has persisted and its on every website that I visit and I'm now getting problems with ads that were blocked before now being allowed and I don't know how to fix it all and get it back to how it was before and also when I searched for something in Google more than once it would list it as a suggestion and it has stopped doing that as well now too.

Please help me if you can. I'm getting desperate and I really want to fix this before my next uni assignment needs to be done.

The image rendering engine of IE 8,9, 10, 11 is always awful since years of in compare to ALL other browsers.

Example: If you have responsive Design you upload images at the highest resolution (1024x768) and the Browser scale this image as needed.

ALL browsers deliver scaled and sharp images except the IE 8,9, 10, 11 (IE 7 use-ms-interpolation-mode:bicubic) which no longer work.

Compare it with the frontpage of   www.microsoft.com - scale it to Smartphone Size and see the images: IE 8,9, 10, 11 always has NO anti-aliasing.

PLEASE FIX THIS - or people using IE must accept this...?!

Hi!

The Certificate information dialog apparently displays times wrong if they are across the DST change date.

Example: The server certificate for the website https://www.whitehouse.gov/ has the "Valid from" value displayed as (EU locale, CET timezone):

While Firefox correctly shows:

The same information in US locale and EST timezone:

IE is off by 1 hour.

PS: As it expires in a year, I tried to save and attach the certificate, but the "Copy to File..." button is disabled. Why is that? I remember it working before. I saved it with Firefox and stored here: http://www.pastebin.ca/3504261

Having upgraded my 6 home devices ( 2PCs, laptop ultrabook surface pro 3 and netbook) to windows 10 I have started on the 23 workstations in our Medical Practice, 3 so far, mostly ok and they definitely go faster. Our main software works ok, a couple of softwares to check. Main problem is the internet options. Internet explorer has a large and bewildering array of options, including trusted sites, phishing filters, and advanced options including "access data sources across domains". I have tested our remote login which is based on remote desktop and it works for both outlook and controlling a workstation. Our 2 xray logins don't work on edge, because it doesn't allow "access data sources across domains" to download the images to view in a locally installed advance DICDOM image viewer and manipulator. As all xray providers are now online in Australia ( fouir of them in our area), I presume this is a problem in the US too, are you going to fix this or must we continue to use internet explorer? These settings don't work in any other browser either. However Regional Imaging, which uses Intelliviewer, has provided an alternative, one can view the images online in any browser ( including edge) which is basic but adequate for simple viewing. Phillips isite software using the citrix plugin only works on internet explorer.

I am running Windows Embedded Standard 7.

It has all applicable updates that are obtainable through Windows Update. It also has all updates that are pre-requisites for IE11 that are listed here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/kb/2847882

Despite all the applicable updates being installed from here, IE11_main.log shows me the following error caused the installation to quit:

Hi,

Internet Explorer is set not to trust SHA-1 SSL Server certificates by June 2016 after the SHA-1 was almost broken in Nov 2015.

Do you know if SHA-1 SSL Client certificate will be ruled out as well ? If yes, what is the expected deadline / ruling-out criteria  (notBefore / notAfter / ...) ?

Hi guys

I already posted my question on Microsoft answers (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie11-windows_7/choose-your-homepage-and-search-settings/2966bcb3-3ddb-4a26-8c51-07b5aa40e4ef), it was suggested there that I post it here as well:

Since the latest update to Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 (KB3148198), my users experience the following message (on Win7, Win 8.1 and Win 10):

Of course, this is disturbing for many of my users, and, what's worse, since we use dynamic local profiles in our company (i.e. the user profile is created from the DEFAULT profile on each and every login), this message shows up after each and every login which normally happens once a day.

My colleagues (and my boss!) have asked me to get rid of this message.

I have monitored what happens in the registry when you choose "Your current settings", it writes quite some strange registry entries (HEX-values) which all have something to do with "SyncHomePage Protected - It is a violation of Windows Policy to modify. See aka.ms/browserpolicy". Windows insiders will know which registry settings I mean.

Specifically, I'm talking about what's written in

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\EUPP Protected - It is a violation of Windows Policy to modify. See aka.ms/browserpolicy

and the respective subkeys. Those contain binary values, and I suppose those are user specific, and that's the problem - if they are user-specific, I cannot deploy them to all network computers for all users.

If I export those regkeys and deploy them to users, there will be an error message on the first start of IE, stating that settings had to be reset as they were corrupt.

The default homepage and search providers at our company are set via regkeys (or have been, until now).

Is there any way to still set default search provider and start page in IE 11 WITHOUT users seeing ANY popups? Even for dynamic local users?

I'm not sure if uninstalling KB3148198 is an option, it looks like this update does more than just add this "feature" I don't want, and maybe it's even required in order to get further updates.

So what can I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to create a custom package of IE 11 to present to users on my organization's intranet. However, after starting the IEAK wizard, I can't get past the language selection. The drop down box is empty. I am sure that I am just missing something on the machine I'm using to build the custom package, but I've been unable to find anything similar on any other forums. I'd appreciate any insight into what I'm doing wrong.
