WS2012 Remote Desktop Session Host. We need to run a couple LOB programs from a remote share, and I want to suppress the security prompt. The usual solution is add the domain to Local Intranet Zone.

I can add domain servers to Local Intranet Zone by using "file://ServerName" syntax and it works. In a normal DomainName.Local domain, I can add "DomainName.Local" to the Local Intranet Zone and it works.

I haven't found a syntax that works for "SingleLabelDomain". I've tried

SingleLabelDomain

.SingleLabelDomain

*.SingleLabelDomain

file://*.singlelabeldomain

--and I either get an "Invalid format" message, or it accepts it but doesn't work.

Is there a correct way to enter this, or am I SOL with a single-label domain?

Hi Techies,

We had faced were strange issue related proxy.  Which I want to share all.

In orgationasaion proxy settings are implemented registry group policy.

1) Proxy Enable

2) ProxyOverride

3) Proxy Server.

Today, when we made the changes as required by client in multiple location.  

All the users were not able to access tinternet allowed sites trough proxy.  When we check proxy settings ang proxy exception was empty.



Please see the above screenshot, when we checked what proxy is getting applied.

Later we analised that in proxy exception list *.google.com; https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/grouppolicy/2008/

As a example i have bolded "/" which was added after the URL. ie. microsofot.com/which was causing the proxy group policy was getting disappeared.  

After removing slash givng access to only microsoft.com instead "/" solved my problem.

While using enterprise applications, multiple users have reported sluggishness in the behavior. Like delays of over a second on the some websites. This occurs inconsistently but are debilitating when they occur.

Any suggestions about how to resolve this issue?

After upgrading to Windows 10 I cannot find the bookmarks. The folders in C:\windows.old\Users\username\Favorites are empty.

Where are the bookmarks? They used to be under the "star" in the upper right corner of the screen. They are gone now.

Today, I did something that I had said I would never do; I installed Google Chrome. WHY???

It is very Simple; I have had a Gutfull of the issues IE 11 has been having in recent times - I tend to think after Updates, but not certain.

I last used IE 11 to open my Router Login Page (192.168.0.1) 9/03/2016, with no issues. Today, 27/03/2016, I needed to go into my Router again. When given this URL it just shows "Cannot open Page". I will point out here that Firefox does not have this problem; Bang, straight into it and up comes the expected Login Page. Google Chrome is the same as Firefox.

I checked my Wife's Win 10 Laptop, IE 11 and after some Security chasing around, it finally presented the Page. Her Firefox returned the Page in seconds.

So it seems there is some conflict of interest between IE 11 and Win 64bit Pro.

What the hell is Microsoft doing in these times; They have become Experts in stuffing what were once great systems; In fact these hideous seem to have come to life since the advent of Win 10.

Is the same Win 10 Mob who are hellbent on destroying Win 7, so that we will go Win 10. I can assure you that will not happen. If I have to lose my Win 7 Business PC; Then it will be to Apple, a Company that has something that actually works.

Can anyone throw any light on this issue, as I have not found a fix that works on the Forums that I have searched.

We have upgraded Internet explorer to version 11. now we are not able to download pdf files from our internal web application. Error message :****.pdf couldn't be downloaded. There is not issue while we try from IE 8.

We are tracking a user session based on specific cookies once the users moves from http to https pages and back on our website .

However we are facing this user session getting lost issue on IE 11.0.24 and lower versions . The reason is that while we move across the domains the cookies are getting lost and new session cookies are getting created .

This is working fine in other browsers and also in IE 11.0.27 .

While reading more about this issue we found that if we mandate IE to use a single process per tab (by setting TabProcGrowth in IE system registry ) the issue  will get resolved and cookies wont be lost .

We tried it and it worked for 1 system but its not possible to have it done for all end users of our website who are on the above IE versions .

Is there any other solution to it or any fix that can be done from IE side as an interim fix to lower versions .

We have a web app in our business that requires users to log in with a local system account instead of their AD accounts. When users go to the page, they get a prompt for a username/password and it defaults to our company domain. In order to negate this, users are having to type in \username to change it to a local account. 

Is there a way to force IE to always use a local account, so that users do not have to type in the \username each time?

This is a internal Website, has two AP server.
production server : Windows Server 2008 + IIS 7.5
test server : Windows Server 2008 standard + IIS 7
both use .aspx and ,aspx.vb, and all applications are same version, use Excel file to be report template.

When I use Win7 + IE8 (or Firefox, Chrome) on both Website to generate report, all can download or open. when I upgrade to IE11, some step to generate report, but some report can not be download, only on production server, on test server, every report all can download.

1. when finish generate report, on bottom will show a status bar, and have three button [Open] [Save] [Cancel]
2. Click Open or Save, status bar will show can't download and button change to [Retry] [Cancel] [View Download]
3. Click Retry, file can be download, but content was wrong, all will be replace by Web Page.

I try to do this on another PC, same result.
Is application need to modify? or change IIS setting? or need do anything?

I'm getting the error as "Stack overflow at line 46" while executing the command "Add-AzureAccount".

When I hit enter after that command, small window will open asking for Microsoft credentials. When I enter my username, it will process and gives me the error  Stack overflow at line 46.

Installed Azure commandlets on Powershell 4.0 and using IE8. I have reset the IE but still getting the same error.

Any help on this issue is appreciated.

We are updating our IE settings via GPO from IEM to the newer IE templates, during testing we have encountered the following issue.

Windows 7 OS: IMDB does not play trailers, only shows as buffering. You tube plays videos.

Windows 8 and 8.1: IMDB does not play trailers, only shows as buffering. Same for you tube.

Which settings do I need to enable/ fix?

I inadvertantly added my password onto the end of my email  address while trying to sign in to hotmail. Now whenever I  start to sign in,as soon as I type the first letter of my email address, I see a drop down list containing an "email address" which is my email address AND my password combined.

In our application we have Menu Item to be display and Every main item have its sub Items.

After we migrated from IE 10 to IE 11. Menu Item is displaying with scroll bar due to this we are not able menu items properly. If we move cursor point on scroll bar complete menu list will disappear.

We have verified with so many different machine IE 11 browser.

Note: We are connected to domain network.

1. Machine A have IE 11 browser but scroll bar not display and its working fine.

2. Machine B IE 11 browser  shows scroll bar and its troubling us to select menu items.

I seem to have acquired a virus embedded in my IE installation.  Various popups routinely open and freeze IE on my computer.  They all seem to be tech support adware.  I've gone through the IE add-ons, I've checked the Control Panel for unwanted programs, and have done some limited scanning of the registry for keys related to the issue.  I can't find anything.  I've run numerous antivirus scans, using different tools, to try to fix the problem.  I'm reasonably tech-savvy but fixing this is beyond me.  I'm looking for ideas on how to address this.

I've searched all over the place for this same issue with no luck. I've come IE won't save passwords, IE won't prompt to save passwords, and IE won't save passwords on certain sites, but I have been unable to find why on one computer it will prompt to save the password for a site but it won't prompt to save on that same site on a different computer with the same browser.

So let me start by saying this, both computers are the same model, have the same OS, and same version of IE. (Dell OptiPlex 3010, Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64, and IE 11). I have verified the site in question allows passwords to be saved. It works on one computer and not the other. Even if we try the same username. The company that runs the site has also verified this (Can't post the site name for privacy reasons).

I set this new user up on this computer and have done the following:

1. Made sure that prompting to save passwords was enabled in Internet options

2. Reset IE to defaults

3. Added to site to compatibility list

4. Added site to trusted sites

5. Restarted computer

6. Tested password prompt worked on another site

I know this is kind of vague, but if I am missing anything it would be greatly appreciated if someone could point it out.

actually I want to update IE9 to IE11 on all machines via SCCM 2012.

Therefore I built a package with IEAK 11 and integrated all IE11 prerequisite updates (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2847882) to install before IE11 is installed (altogether 9 updates).

Afterwards I deployed the Full installation package (MSI) with SCCM 2012.

On some test machines the installation works just fine (silent). After a restart at the end of the installation updates are configured and the next time IE11 starts.

On one machine the installation stopped because of the following error (from IE11_main.log):

How can I achieve this - is there another solution with IEAK11?

Or do I have to build a script like this (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3061428, without IEAK11 in order to get an offline installation package for IE11 where no downloads are necessary and everything especially the prerequisites are taken from the package?
