I have a 64 bit Sony Viao tap computer.  Since upgrading to Windows 10 the mouse has acted erratically.  Solution?

Why does IE not have an extension design for web developer easily?

IE using wpad when it shouldn't

Hi,

We are setting up a new transparent web proxy on one of our subnets, and on the other subnets we are using explicit proxy which the clients get the WPAD url trough option 252 in DHCP. On the new subnet with transparent proxy, no WPAD is configured in DNS or DHCP. We would like to use "Automatically detect settings" on all machines, and this shouldn't cause any issues as it would go to direct communication when not finding WPAD on the new subnet.
Now to the problem: Even trough no WPAD is configured to be offered in DNS or DHCP for the new subnet, IE still pulls the WPAD from the other subnet, if the client ever has been on that network, and tries to use the explicit proxy that blocks the traffic from that network.
Why is IE continuing to grab information from a WPAD that isn't offered? Same goes for Skype for business and Outook that uses exchange Online. Non-MS applications like Chrome does not use the WPAD, and acts correctly.
We have verified that the WPAD isn't offered trough FwcTool so configuration should be correct, but we still seen in C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\winhttp that it pulls the PAC.

Any ideas?

IE 11 HTML image map not rendered after user zooming

Hi,

Do you know how to fix this bug on my internal web site (with html/css/js fix or deploying KB maybe) ?

The map used by an image is not used anymore after the user zoom in or out inside his IE.

If the page is initialy loaded at 110%, the map area is used but not after the user change his zoom level...

Any idea will be great.
Tx.

Also the messages about File Downloads. Never once in my life I clicked a download link by mistake. Yes, I'm clicking that dang URL, because I wan't to download that dang file, now get out my way, annoying warning message. How do I disable this one too? Thank you in advance

I have a user that when they try to log into Duke Progress Energy's website at https://www.progress-energy.com/app/loginregistration/login.aspx it will redirect them to a "one time authentication" page which requires them to use a one-time key to log in on a new computer.  When going to this one-time website (secure8.i-doxs.net) it will get an error message that says...

This page can't be displayed

Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 in the Advanced settings and try connecting to https://secure8.i-doxs.net again.  If this error persists, contact your site administrator.

Well, I'm the site administrator and I can confirm that TLS 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 are all enabled and forced by GPO.  Restarting IE and rebooting did not help.  Chrome and Firefox both work flawlessly.

Edit: This is IE 11 on Windows 8.1 Enterprise.

Internet Explorer 11 Desktop verison does not always load pages at startup

Hi,

I am having an issue that is driving me mad and I know that others have had the same issue but I can’t really find any threads online that will help med solve the problem.

When I open IE 11 as a regular user (no admin privileges) it does not always display the start page. The loading “circle” on the tab keep spinning as if it is trying to load the page but nothing happens. Now if I open another IE11 browser it could work perfectly in the new browser window.

It does not matter if I try another URL, it does not matter if I open a new tab.
If the start page does not load then no other page will load either.

Scenario 1:
I open 10 IE11 browsers and all of them load the start page perfectly

Scenario 2:
I open 10 IE11 browsers none of them could load the start page

Scenario 3:
I open 10 IE11 browser and anywhere between one to all ten of them will start page perfectly.

The issue is not the start page as I have tried with msn.com google.com, you name it I have tried it.

Protected mode is OFF.

Hardware acceleration is OFF.

This is a brand new installation and it does not matter if I do the installation once or ten times. The same issue still occur. I am running the latest Enterprise release Win 10 OS from November 2015.

I am a senior system admin so I know what I am doing and what to look for.
In this case however, I am totally lost as I do know how what on earth could be causing the issue

If I run iexplorer.exe as an administrator however, then it works every time, but this is not a solution as domain users do not have admin privileges and will never have.

Here is a perfect example of when I have opened multiple IE11 browsers.
As you can see 4 of them are not loading the start page

All questions/tests below have been tried

1) Which version of Internet Explorer do you use? Is it Desktop version or the Modern version?
2) What is the exact/complete error message?

Method 1: Run the Internet Explorer performance Troubleshooter.

Please follow the steps given below to perform the Internet Explorer performance Troubleshooter.

a) Press Windows + W together.
b) Write Troubleshooting in the search box right up corner and hit enter.
c) Click on Troubleshooting tab.
d) Click on view all option on the upper left corner.
e) Select the Internet Explorer Performance options from the list.
f) Click on Next to perform the troubleshooting.

Method 2: Open Internet Explorer 10 in no-add ons mode and check if you’re able to load the websites.

Follow the steps given here.

a) Press the ‘Windows Keys +X key on the desktop.
b) Select Run.
c) In the Run window type ‘iexplore –extoff’ and click ‘OK’.
d) Now try to open the websites to check if you’re able to load the websites.

If the issue does not persist in Internet Explorer (No Add-ons), then it is one of the add-ons causing this issue. Please follow the steps below to locate the problem add-on low:

Disable add-ons from here:

a) Open Internet Explorer.
b) Select the Setting (Gear) option from the top right corner.
c) Select Internet Option. Go to the Programs tab.
d) Select Mange Add ons option in front of Enable or disable browser addons installed on your computer.
e) Re-enable the add-ons one by one and check with which Add-on you get this error message.
f) Disable the Add-on causing the problem.

You can go ahead and try the step which you have mentioned to disable the Nortan security software temporarily and check for the issue.

Warning: Security software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

We would like to be able to switch between Java version for web applications in Internet Explorer 10. Is there a way to do that?

Currently, we are specifically interested in 1.6.0_23 and 1.7.0_45

Other threads on this subject have been sparse and not helpful. 8-)

Thanks.

Hi,

After upgrade IE 8 to IE10 web applicaton which is loading by 127.0.0.1 address on workstations with Windows 7 not working and loading very long with no errors.
When I press F5 application run ok.
This scenario repeats every time during run this web application.
"Telnet localhost 80" works fine every time and I get then html code in result.
Application works fine with ip address from network card but another application required to run this with 127.0.0.1 so I have to use loopback.
When I add entry to hosts like this "X.X.X.X 127.0.0.1" then works fine.
After install fiddler to try debug problem I saw that it's not occur.

I check IE protected mode, security, proxy  etc and and not found solution. Someone can help me?

Running IE9 from the command line within the multi-monitor environment

Hi !

I need to run the IE9 using the multi-monitor environment.

In my concrete case, I run IE9 in 4 sessions from the command lines, with different web address each and want to see every session in the different monitor identified in the system as monitor 1..4.

I would prefer to run each session of IE9 in the kiosk mode and direct them to the different monitor.

Is it some parameter, I need to use within the command line, which directs the running IE9 window to the desired monitor ?

If it is not a command line, than probably the PowerShell script issue, isn't it ? Please, advise.

Thank you in advance,

Bogdan

IE Broken after Sysprep COPYPROFILE used

After fully building my Windows 8 and 10 images using Audit Mode, I use the COPYPROFILE setting in Sysprep to make a copy of the profile for all users. The issue occurs when the user's try using IE 11. The MSN homepage is missing nearly all of it's content, except the main scrolling section for top articles. All other sections are gone and none of the ads load. I have tried resetting IE andrebuilding the image, neither of these worked. I Prepped the image without using the COPYPROFILE switch and IE is usable but all my configurations are gone. Please advise.

My OS : windows 10
My IE : v11.162.10586.0   update v11.0.29

I found that there is a bug in my IE.

F12 > in console,  if I execute following

var x1 = Number.MAX_SAFE_INTEGER; console.log(x1+1);

it prints NaN. It's wrong.

( In Chrome F12, it prints 9007199254740992.  This is the right result. )

console.log(x1+n); // where n is arbitrary integer. IE always prints NaN.

IE 11 - Issue on downloading doc files

After upgrading IE 9 to IE 11, we have been encountering this prompt

This webpage displays in 'Microsoft Word'. Do you want to disable Enhanced Protected Mode to run the control? You should only do this if you trust the site.

upon downloading doc files. The issue does not occur for docx, xls and xlsx.

The prompt would kill the file download process of doc file for an application we are using but we could not turn off EPM due to our company's security policies. Does anyone know what is the root cause of this issue and/or have a permanent fix?

Sites in Enterprise Mode List are not loaded

Hello,

lately a lot of our Windows 7 machines are having sporadic problems with the Enterprise Mode.

When the problem occurs, all websites listed in the Enterprise Mode Site List are not working anymore, the loading of the page just stops on a white page with no error message:

- pages not in the site list work fine (websites accessed trough proxy as well as intranet sites)
- the problem is limited to the current user account, reboot/logoff/run IE as another account resolves the problem
- resetting IE settings and following gpupdate solves the problem
- clearing browser history/temp etc. has no effect

IE version is 11.0.9600.18204 - 11.0.28.

Is anyone experiencing the same issues or has any suggestions how to figure out whats the cause?

Best regards,

Stefan

Site List Manager

We have many sites in site list manager but it appears the x ua meta tag is taking ownership of the doc mode/enterprise mode setting. Without changing the html code is there a workaround?

Also are port numbers and ip addresses allowed in site list manager or are only url's supposed to be there?
