well its not like the bing take over but its like the  other four catagoreys I used to go through guest and then centurylink for my server but centurylink was terrible so I went over to dishnetwork last two years with them was good then about 6 days ago I got on to start my enemployment all I could get is centurylink it changed my internet addresses and ethernet address my mack addresss   then I could not stay paired  with dish then it would not let me have acces to controlpanel  and other various places   all I got is very limited internet access   gotta take it to  get fixed tomorrow  I sure think centurylink otta be responable for the amount it going to cost me  to fix  but I think it has pinned itself to information on the mother board  I tried booting  back to the way it was when I took pc out box  brand new  used the bootup disk and all  after being formatted and partitioned  it was still there  I thought centurylink was bad when I was using it  2years ago   its just flat out ugly now

Internet Explorer 10 won't keep me logged in

I installed Win 8, and I'm using IE10. But when I visit some of my favorite forums and web pages (forum.tauri.hu, prohardver.hu, etc.) and I choose the "Keep me logged in" option, after browser restart, or in mid browsing, I get logged out, and have to re log in. Using another browser, I don't have a problem, but on my laptop only IE can play 720p or 1024p Youtube videos fluently.

I tried resetting, without success. But yahoo.com, live.com can keep me logged in.

Can't submit request to certificate authority in internet explorer 11

Hello!

I have enterprise Certificate authority working at Windows Server 2008r2. All today available updates from Microsoft are installed on the server.

Through the web interface in the browser IE11 is impossible to request user certificate - when you press "submit" button for certificate request, nothing happens.

At another PC with IE9 all works fine - i can submit request and recive certificate from CA

I installed all available updates for Windows and IE11, but its not resolve problem. I tryed to add CA to Trusted Sites, to set IE11 security settings to minimal level - it not helps

I found article which describes this problem https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2988411 , but I have all necessary updates are installed on IE11, including those referred to in article.

How to solve this problem? Use console to request the certificate does not offer, i must be able to request it via the web interface

Internet Explorer 11 Desktop verison does not always load pages at startup

Hi,

I am having an issue that is driving me mad and I know that others have had the same issue but I can’t really find any threads online that will help med solve the problem.

When I open IE 11 as a regular user (no admin privileges) it does not always display the start page. The loading “circle” on the tab keep spinning as if it is trying to load the page but nothing happens. Now if I open another IE11 browser it could work perfectly in the new browser window.

It does not matter if I try another URL, it does not matter if I open a new tab.
If the start page does not load then no other page will load either.

Scenario 1:
I open 10 IE11 browsers and all of them load the start page perfectly

Scenario 2:
I open 10 IE11 browsers none of them could load the start page

Scenario 3:
I open 10 IE11 browser and anywhere between one to all ten of them will start page perfectly.

The issue is not the start page as I have tried with msn.com google.com, you name it I have tried it.

Protected mode is OFF.

Hardware acceleration is OFF.

This is a brand new installation and it does not matter if I do the installation once or ten times. The same issue still occur. I am running the latest Enterprise release Win 10 OS from November 2015.

I am a senior system admin so I know what I am doing and what to look for.
In this case however, I am totally lost as I do know how what on earth could be causing the issue

If I run iexplorer.exe as an administrator however, then it works every time, but this is not a solution as domain users do not have admin privileges and will never have.

Here is a perfect example of when I have opened multiple IE11 browsers.
As you can see 4 of them are not loading the start page

All questions/tests below have been tried

1) Which version of Internet Explorer do you use? Is it Desktop version or the Modern version?
2) What is the exact/complete error message?

Method 1: Run the Internet Explorer performance Troubleshooter.

Please follow the steps given below to perform the Internet Explorer performance Troubleshooter.

a) Press Windows + W together.
b) Write Troubleshooting in the search box right up corner and hit enter.
c) Click on Troubleshooting tab.
d) Click on view all option on the upper left corner.
e) Select the Internet Explorer Performance options from the list.
f) Click on Next to perform the troubleshooting.

Method 2: Open Internet Explorer 10 in no-add ons mode and check if you’re able to load the websites.

Follow the steps given here.

a) Press the ‘Windows Keys +X key on the desktop.
b) Select Run.
c) In the Run window type ‘iexplore –extoff’ and click ‘OK’.
d) Now try to open the websites to check if you’re able to load the websites.

If the issue does not persist in Internet Explorer (No Add-ons), then it is one of the add-ons causing this issue. Please follow the steps below to locate the problem add-on low:

Disable add-ons from here:

a) Open Internet Explorer.
b) Select the Setting (Gear) option from the top right corner.
c) Select Internet Option. Go to the Programs tab.
d) Select Mange Add ons option in front of Enable or disable browser addons installed on your computer.
e) Re-enable the add-ons one by one and check with which Add-on you get this error message.
f) Disable the Add-on causing the problem.

You can go ahead and try the step which you have mentioned to disable the Nortan security software temporarily and check for the issue.

Warning: Security software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

IE 11 and SP 13 Not working together

Look for some help since MS themselves cannot seem to figure out the solution.

Using IE 11 and SharePoint 2013 we have an edit item page that saves to a library that does not save when using IE 11 but works with Chrome and other browsers. In IE 11 the changes are not saved and due to this the attached workflow stops, in other browsers everything saves and the workflow completes.

Any ideas or fixes on how to get IE 11 to work properly with the edit item page and then save to a library to complete the workflow like the other browsers are doing?

I would use other browsers for the entire process except out users only have access to IE 11.

Is IE 8 considered HIPAA compliant

We are having a debate about whether or not IE 8 is considered HIPAA compliant.  I know in order to remain HIPAA compliant, you much continue to provide security updates in order to stop vulnerabilities with the application.  So if Microsoft stops issuing updates for IE 8, would that not mean that IE 8 is no longer HIPAA compliant?

I'm trying to move forward with IE 10 as I believe it will provide the functionality I need, but first have to back up my argument about HIPAA compliance.

I have searched but have come up empty on this, at least definitively.

The Life Cycle page for IE says "Releases known as Components follow the Support Lifecycle of their parent Major Product."

So, I am wondering, since Windows 7 shipped with IE8 as the installed version,  the parent would presumably be Windows 7, which would make IE8's support lifecycle the same, correct?

Thanks

I have a user that when they try to log into Duke Progress Energy's website at https://www.progress-energy.com/app/loginregistration/login.aspx it will redirect them to a "one time authentication" page which requires them to use a one-time key to log in on a new computer.  When going to this one-time website (secure8.i-doxs.net) it will get an error message that says...

This page can't be displayed

Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 in the Advanced settings and try connecting to https://secure8.i-doxs.net again.  If this error persists, contact your site administrator.

Well, I'm the site administrator and I can confirm that TLS 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 are all enabled and forced by GPO.  Restarting IE and rebooting did not help.  Chrome and Firefox both work flawlessly.

Edit: This is IE 11 on Windows 8.1 Enterprise.

IE11 Enterprise Mode site list not working

I've configured the Enterprise Mode site list as directed in the following article

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn640696.aspx

and set up the gpo to point to my site.  I've confirmed in my site's logs that the xml file is accessible.

However, it isn't working; none of the sites are launching in enterprise mode.  I notice that the CurrentVersion key in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\EnterpriseMode has remained at 1 and is not updating.  I'm assuming that is the problem, but I can't figure out why it won't update.

Any advice?

Hello,

lately a lot of our Windows 7 machines are having sporadic problems with the Enterprise Mode.

When the problem occurs, all websites listed in the Enterprise Mode Site List are not working anymore, the loading of the page just stops on a white page with no error message:

- pages not in the site list work fine (websites accessed trough proxy as well as intranet sites)
- the problem is limited to the current user account, reboot/logoff/run IE as another account resolves the problem
- resetting IE settings and following gpupdate solves the problem
- clearing browser history/temp etc. has no effect

IE version is 11.0.9600.18204 - 11.0.28.

Is anyone experiencing the same issues or has any suggestions how to figure out whats the cause?

Best regards,

Stefan

Security certificate revoked popup

I have a customer site with about a dozen PCs and on the same day they all started getting a popup when opening IE. The popup is labeled "Security Alert" and says "The security certificate for this site has been revoked. This site should not be trusted."

I've scanned with Malwarebytes and with AVG business AV and nothing is found except for a few PUP registry entries. Sometimes after scanning the popups will stop for a while but they always come back.

No popups are seen when using Firefox or Chrome and it doesn't matter who is logged into what PC, the result is always the same. IE has been reset more than once. CCleaner has been run more than once to clear out temp files and cache.

The only common thing I can think of is that I believe the day before this started I deleted the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager software from their domain controller. They had been migrated off of SEP for about a year and have used 2 different managed AV products since then. I have found no trace of SEP on a PC which is what I expect. It was just the manager software on the server (which has been disabled since SEP use was discontinued) which was left.

Why uninstalling that would cause these security popups in IE on the PCs makes no sense and I have to believe it's just a coincidence.

The only resolution I've found by searching is to disabled checking for certificate revocation in IE. But I'm not going to do that as I don't think that's a good practice and that setting has always been enabled on these PCs so I'm sure that is not the cause of these popups suddenly appearing.

Does anyone have any idea what might cause this on a domain-wide scale?

Site List Manager

We have many sites in site list manager but it appears the x ua meta tag is taking ownership of the doc mode/enterprise mode setting. Without changing the html code is there a workaround?

Also are port numbers and ip addresses allowed in site list manager or are only url's supposed to be there?

IE11 loses login when run as different user

I have the latest IE11 on win7 with all updates. After being sufficiently scared by ransomware reports, I decided to run IE isolated as a different user from my main desktop (standard UAC settings). The idea is whatever nasty comes in through the back door will only harm a fake normal user's "documents" and leave mine in peace!

I can see in the task manager that there are a number of IE running processes all correctly set to that different user

However, IE loses login information. For example, when I login to my yahoo account or a phpBB forum with the option "remember me and login automatically", it doesn't. If I keep the same tab active it is ok, but if I browse away to say google, and come back to the phpBB page, I have to login again. Which is a pain

what can be wrong and is there any solution? thanks

IE11 display "disconnects" from window even though process seems to be operating

I'm using IE11 on an HP ZBook 15 G2 which has built-in Intel HD 4600 and NVidia quadro k2100m graphics. The OS is windows 7 enterprise 64 bit. I've tried configuring ie11 to run using the intel and the NVidia graphics, but it didn't make any difference. I've also tried numerous versions of intel and NVidia driver versions and there was no difference. There has been a full OS reinstallation along the way and that didn't make any difference either, so I'm assuming this is a problem with IE11.

The problem is that the display area within the window freezes, eve though the IE11 process seems to be operating. I assume that because if I refresh the tab, I can see the address bar update. I can also see the task manager thumbnail update. Occasionally, if I suspend and resume the computer, the problem goes away, but usually, I just kill all of the IE11 processes and reopen them. This is very annoying and I'm wondering if there is a fix.

HI,

I am using win 7 with IE11. I cannot open links/hyperlinks on certain web pages. I can open these in Chrome and on another PC. When I right click the link they can open in a new window but not in the same window. I have tried a reset of IE and also the Microsoft fixit but no joy.

Any suggestions guys.
