I use the following html and javascript in an <A> onclick() handler to always open a new window.
<A onclick="OpenMyWin()" target="MyWin" href="(url to htm page)">My Win Link</A>
where the OpenMyWin() function uses window.open():
function OpenMyWin(){
var myWin= open("", "MyWin", "width=990,height=350,scrollbars=no,resizable=yes" );
myWin.focus();
}
I tried using the url instead of "" for the open(), but then it always opens only in a tab.
I've tried the various IE Tabs options.
This works on some systems (Win7, WS2008R2), but on a new install of WS2008R2 and WS2012R2 it always brings up both when I click the anchor link.
The doctype for the page is <!DOCTYPE html>
What I want to happen is that the link opens in the window where about:blank is opening, (and with the content displayed and not blank), and not in the tab. Instead I'm getting a blank new window AND the content in a new Tab.
Is this a problem with IE or the html/javascript ?
