Hi
I've got a really strange issue with IE8 that I'm coming up short on.
Basically, a customer I support has a certain internal website to hit. No problems with it, it's been added to the IE proxy bypass exceptions and into the corporate proxy/web filter (WebMarshal). Everything works fine except ONE thing.
There's a process that needs to run and what happens is that data displayed on the site will be pulled into a PDF and a preview of that PDF displayed in an iFrame. However, if the site is in the IE proxy byass list, it refuses to show the PDF content, showing
it as a blank page. It also cannot show the data in print preview as it's not been pulled into the PDF. Printing the page simply prints a blank page.
Now here's the rub, remove the site from the IE proxy bypass list and everything works as normal. Data pulled into PDF and can be seen, previewed and printed. They are still going through the corporate WebMarshal. the really strange thing is that both Firefox
and Chrome both show the content without issue, when using the proxy settings pulled from IE, with the site IN the exception list.
IE8 is being used as it's support by the vendor of the site. Firefox is as well, but the Assistant IT Manager wants to use IE so that certain settings can be tied down via GPO.
I've tried loading IE with all add-ons disbaled, but the issue still remains. I would go through the security settings one by one, but time spent is going to more than outweigh the final outcome.
Does anyone know of any way I can narrow down why the IE proxy exception would be causing the data to no be pulled into the PDF document.
Cheers!
