Why does IE dredge up an old web page on startup instead of the designated default page?

A few weeks ago I visited a web site that had a 'page not found' message. Now, although I have Google Advanced Search set as my default page, upon first launch after computer reboots, it always displays the old 'page not found' website instead of my default Google page. Whereas if i just restart IE only, it always honors the Google Default page.  How do it get IE to forget that old 'page not found' URL???

IE 11 TABS NOT WORKING

Hello,

After hours of research and trying hundreds of "fixes", I am still having the issue of blank tabs.

So, MSN.com, I click on a link and its supposed to open a new tab for that link. When it opens the tab, the tab is blank. I literally have to right click on whatever link I wish to open, click on "Copy Shortcut", open a new tab and paste it in there.

I have tried reinstalling IE11, resetting all settings back to default, I have tried System Restore, I have tried opening IE with no add-ons, etc.  I have gone through hundreds of threads and tried hundreds of "solutions" but nothing has worked.

I am running Windows 7 64-bit SP1 with IE 11.  I have performed general system maintenance, ensured all updates were installed, etc.

I'm not the type of person to ask for help but I am really stumped on this issue. So, I need help.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi

I have some virtual servers with Windows 2008 R2 standard where on one of them I am unable to upgrade from IE9 to IE11

With Windows Update I get following error: 9C59

In Event log I get following:

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070643: Internet Explorer 11 for Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems.

I have tryed to install from a command prompt with the options /update-no but I get the same failure

A hint would be nice :-)

Are path, sub-paths and ports supported in IE Compatibility View List?

Hello All,

We are experiencing compatibility issues with our enterprise apps (developed on Internet Explorer 6,7,8) on Internet Explorer 11.

On reading further, we came across the Enterprise Mode and Compatibility View List, where websites can be defined, to work in backward compatibility mode.

The question is, are path, sub-paths and ports in URL supported in the Compatibility View list?

Example: subdomain.myenterprise.com:7788/apppath/app - will this URL work?

Can you kindly help understand what kinds or URLs are supported and what are not?

This will be a big help for us, as we look at ensuring our legacy apps work on the newer versions of IE.

Thanks and Regards,

Shabbir

MS14-065 (Nov. IE update) breaks domain-based exception list for outdated ActiveX Blocking.

The November cumulative IE update (MS14-065) appears to break the domain-based exceptions for the new outdated ActiveX control blocking that is described here:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn761713.aspx

We have the new IE group policies deployed in our environment to add domain exceptions for our enterprise to the outdated ActiveX blocking. This was all working perfectly prior to MS14-065. After installing that November update, our exceptions are no longer working and users are getting the block message for their Java applications.

Our environment is Windows 7 SP1 x64 using IE 9. Domain Controllers are 2008 R2.

If I manually remove MS14-065 (falling back to MS14-056, October update) the exceptions all work again as expected. Re-installing MS14-065 (November update) causes the exceptions to stop working again.

Thanks,

Brian

Internet Explorer Crashes

Hello,

I have noticed that my IE9 has been crashing every hour on the hour (XX:51). I'm not sure what this could be. I've ran Malware Bytes and an antivirus scan but it hasn't resolved the issue. I also upgraded to IE11 and that also did not resolve the issue. Could someone let me know of a solution to this issue. Thank you.

After the update\restart, all of the favorites folders still exist, but the actual favorites inside are gone.

I used the Shadow Explorer tool and was able see that they were there yesterday, but not after the restart.  I was able to recover most using the tool, the favorites bar didn't have a shadow copy for some reason.  What happened to the favorites?  Why were they removed?  Is there an easier, more complete way to recover them?  Windows 8.1 on a Dell Latitude E7440 16gb Ram, 512GB SSD

How Do I Block Autoplay Videos?

I have just gone to a site where the video had sound even though I had the sound off on my machine. Even though I paused the video it just went back to the beginning and started over. This is unacceptable. I have tried installing Ad-block but that didn't help. I use IE11 but will go to other browsers if another browser has an add-in that will fix this.

Thanks!

IE11 Enterprise Mode and the IIS Logging Website EmIE.asp (Log the Toggle)

I have successfully created Group Policies, and an IIS web service for IE11 Enterprise Mode Logging as per related TechNet articles.

The IE11 Enterprise Mode Logging feature appears to log the time I toggle Enterprise Mode; however, it doesn't record all the fields.... This is what the file looks like.

#Fields:date cs-uri-query cs-username c-ip

2014-12-16 - - 10.31.92.21
2014-12-16 - - 10.31.92.21

What am I missing? I assume, perhaps, I have misconfigured something on the IIS Web Service?

IE11 build 17501 blocks CRM-Functions (Look-up Results, Advanced Find...)

Hi!

With the recent update to 17501 we are no longer able to work properly with MS CRM.

Problem 1: when working with Look-up fields, the results of the search cannot be selected anymore. Current workaround: where possible, use look-up field as a search field to get an immediate hit or up to 10 possible hits. Does not work for sharing records.

Problem 2: Advanced Find: it is not possible to add columns anymore - no work around at the moment.

According to other posts, the problems occur both for CRM 4.0 and CRM 2011.

Internet Explorer 10 IEAK capturing Security Settings

$

I am trying to package a custom installation for Internet Explorer 10 using IEAK.  I am having some trouble with the Inport Security Settings portion of the tool.

It is failing to import the security settings.  It says it has imported them, but upon installation the security settings have not been included in the IE 10 installation.

Looking at the "INS" folder that is built and the custsec.inf file create there, I can see that only two security settings have been captured -- "1401" and "2500" and none of the other 50 or so security settings are collected for any zone.

In addition, I have trusted sites set to not require HTTPS, but that selection is not captured into the custom IEAK generated browser installer.

Does anyone have any tips on how to successfully deploy a customized version of IE 10?  I am even more reliant now on IEAK since IEM mode was removed from Group Policy, so I reall need to figure out why it doesn't function correctly.

Gridview Border color issue in IE10

Hi,

I am facing an issue in IE10(Version: 10.0.9200.17116, Update Versions: 10.0.21 (KB2987107)).

when I try to render a grid view, the borders of the cell are not in proper color.

The grid view is applied black border for cells and text color of grid cell is Red and Yellow on alternate row. But the border color of the grid view cell gets mixed with the text color inside the cell  and applied black border.

You can see my post on (http[:]//forums[dot]asp[dot]net/t/2024404.aspx)

Please let me know a suitable solution for the issue.

Regards,

Salman
