our domain.sharepoint.com or Onedrive page, will continually cause the IE tab to crash and try to reopen over and over until it says "we were unable to return you to sharepoint.com".

*.office.com; *.sharepoint.com; *office365.com; *.lync.com; *.microsoftonline.com; *.windowsazure.com are all added to the trusted sites list.

sharepoint.com is added to the compatibility list.

IE is set to the default browser.

Tried loading the page on a new user account, still same problem. sites work fine in Mozilla and Chrome.

All updates have been installed for windows 8.1, to-date.

General settings are to check for newer versions of stored pages each time i visit the webpage.

i get the same IE errors on multiple O365 accounts, on two different local machine user accounts.

The sharepoint guys are saying its an IE issue, so thats why im here asking, what else i can try. i hope i havent left nothing out that ive tried.

Internet Explorer 11 - Print Preview or Print of long pages causes many blank pages

As a volunteer, I am creating a web site for a small church using Wix.com. On three of my web site's pages with lots of text, when using Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.17239 Print Preview or Print, the page header prints, the remainder of the page is blank. There may be one or more blank pages and then the footer prints followed by some more blank pages and then, finally, the body text prints.

All other web site pages Print Preview and Print as they should. This problem only affects the three pages with a lot of body text.

I do not have this problem if I use Google Chrome.

When I copied one of the pages and shortened the body text, the shortened page works fine in Print Preview or Print.

I went through the steps in KB973479 and that did not resolve this problem.

I have Print Background Colors and Images checked.
I have Enable Shrink-to-Fit checked.
Un-checking them does not fix the problem.
Portrait or Landscape mode makes no difference.

Mitigate SSL3 “poodle” vulnerability on Windows 7 and Windows XP

Hello,

I work for a company that has a large user base  of employees that are remote workers. Their computer are mostly Windows 7 with a  XP systems. I’m looking for a way to disable the use of SSL 3 on the client systems due to the “Poodle” vulnerability.  Group Policy is not an option as the machines are not domain joined but are managed by Altiris.  I’ve seen some sites suggest that adding the following registry entry to the  client system can achieve  this goal:   (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/3009008.aspx)

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\SSL 3.0\Server]"Enabled"=dword:00000000

Is this accurate?  The results of my testing are unclear on this. I was thinking I could create  script that would add this key to the registry on the client systems and deploy it with Altiris.

Thanks for your assistance

IE11: Unable to enable TLS 1.1 and 1.2

I have recently been testing Windows in FIPS-compliance mode for compliance with a common security policy mandated by a state government agency.  This included my assigned laptop, which is running Windows 8.1 Update Enterprise x64.

As part of the test, I enabled the "System cryptography: Use FIPS 140 compliant cryptographic algorithms, including encryption, hashing and signing algorithms" both in local security policy on my machine and later via a test GPO.  Since that test has completed, I have deleted the GPO and disabled the setting in local security policy.  I've also rebooted several times to verify the setting is truly disabled and also tried creating a GPO that forces that setting to disabled.

What I am seeing is, since performing these tests, I can no longer enable TLS 1.1 or 1.2 on IE11.  They were previously enabled.  The settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 are all grayed out.  SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, and TLS 1.0 are checked (and cannot be unchecked) and TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 are unchecked (and cannot be checked).

Suspecting group policy, I put my user account and computer account in an OU that has group policy inheritance blocked and made a GPO that only forces SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 on for my user account and applied it to my test GPO.  The particular setting is Policies | Administrative Templates | Windows Components | Internet Explorer | Internet Control Panel | Advanced Page | Turn off encryption support | Use SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2.  I ran gpupdate /force, rebooted, checked local security policy to confirm that my laptop is not in FIPS mode, then checked the IE11 advanced options and there was no change.

How can I get TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 back?

IE no longer exists on my computer

IE no longer exists in my programs file.  I tried to download IE but message says cannot install because I already have a more current version.  I have IE file folders in which there are a few files, .ins, text, .xml.  No others.  The .ins files allows me to "extract".  When attempting to do so, Windows does not recognize the .ins file type, which seems odd as I understand .ins is a windows extension.  It will not allow me to open and when following the links to locate a program that will open it, I get 3rd party web sites wanting me to run THEIR registry fixing program.  HELP!  I am running Win 7.  Thank you.

Uninstalling Internet Explorer 11 via Command Line

  • Looking to uninstall IE11 via commandline on a couple hundred PCs that accidentally received the update, anyone have any ideas? The only information on technet is uninstall strings for IE10, which piggybacked on uninstall strings for IE9 - not sure if they still apply, or if there's a better method.

How to Disable Out-of-date ActiveX Control

$

Dear all,

Good day! I have a question to ask.

As we all know, a new feature, block out-of-date activeX, was added.

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2014/08/06/internet-explorer-begins-blocking-out-of-date-activex-controls.aspx

Now I face such an issue:

1. Due to the security policies, I cannot add the site to trusted zone;

2. Due to the system requirment, I cannot upgrade Java to the latest version.

So my question is: How do I disable this feature of Internet zone?

Thank you very much in advance.

Wrong characters when I type

When I try to rename the entries on my Favourites Bar the characters that get entered bear no resemblance to what I actually type. Why should this be? In any other circumstances (e.g. in Word) the right letters get typed.
I now find that even if I hit the same key the character typed is the next one in the keyboard. So I can get any letter I want just by hitting the same key until it turns up and then deleting the others!

A summary of this problem is that "The Client Certificate Private Key release prompt is incorrectly shown on the first login user's desktop rather than on the desktop of the active user who has selected the client certificate to submit to a website."

We are using RDS 2012 r2 and internet explorer 11.

There is a thread from May 2014, but I see no resolution. Can you offer a suggestion?

The trying to get as much information they can from the drug represented is the thereis a certain amount of time that they do directly to learning more but there's so many drugs in so many things out there to know and a lot of times doctors are almostNeuro 3x experimenting in a good way butted deal do you medication and see what happens and if you're not benefiting from now okay to switch up to something else because it's both the they may not have known it there's a possible ramification to this drone and then you could react completely differently from the people in the state region that's why I'm really encourage people to go investigate what are they taking why are.

IE 11 - Intranet sites added to list do not stay

I have, what seems to me, a strange problem. The company I work for uses sharepoint for our intranet sites (no, this is not a sharepoint question) and we have recently upgraded to a new version. When we upgraded, the site now needs to be added to the local intranet site list in order for it to automatically receive windows log in credentials and log users in to SharePoint. This is a simple fix, I have done it on dozens of machines, but on a select few the fix doesn't seem to work. Whenever I add a website to the intranet sites list, it acts as if it was added... then as soon as I close the dialog box that is used to enter and display this info, it's gone, and by gone I mean I open back up the box and it has disappeared from the list. There is no trace of me ever having changed a setting. There are currently no GPOs active that would cause these to be taken out of the list, I have tried adding the sites directly into the registry and they disappear there too, I'm not sure if this is the right place for my question but I figure it's a start. So again:

Problem: Sites do not stay in proper security zone, all traces of them existing are erased on closing of dialog box.

Troubleshooting Done so Far: Tried directly placing in registry, no fix. No GPO's are active to remove said sites from zones.

Trusted Sites GPO only works for administrators

I've got a major problem and was hoping somebody could help me.  I've got a hundred users or so that connect to an RDS Farm. The RDS farm is made up of several Windows Server 2008 R2 servers.  One with IE 10 and the other with IE 8.

The problem that I'm having is if add sites to zone assignment in group policy and add sites to the trusted zone it will only work for users that are administrators.  I found a reference to this problem and the issue being IE Enhanced Security, but Enhanced Security is turned off.

If I'm a normal user with Remote Desktop User rights and I go into IE and check Trusted Sites, there is nothing there.  If I login as administrator and check I can see all the trusted sites.

Anyone know how I can fix this?
