I was able to find a download link for the 64 bit, but i need a link to download the 32bit, thanks in advance for your assistance....

Open a website multiple times with different logins.

In Internet Explorer we need to be able to open certain websites multiple times with different logins. We were able to do this until this summer then something changed. Mostly we are using IE 10 but the problem also exists in IE 11. We really don't want to install Google Chrome which supports this functionality because Chrome interferes with other software that we are running.

All and Any suggestions or comments greatly appreciated.

IE11 Displaying Blank Page for Specific URL

Hi all,

When I try to open the URL http://www.hopeinthecity.ca IE displays just a blank page.

I am running IE11 on Windows 8.1.

Odd thing is, if I am logged in as the local administrator, the site loads without any issues, but can only display a blank page when I'm logged in as a separate user account, both local or domain.

Please advise on what information is necessary to troubleshoot.

Thanks!

Problems downloading to a network share drive in IE 10

We are running Windows Server 2008 R2 Terminal server with IE 10. When trying to download a .htm when I do a "Save Target as" from IE 10 a user reports this error - xxxxxx.htm couldn't be downloaded. He can save just fine locally. Something similar was occurring with IE 9 and fix was created from Microsoft fixed the issue. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/753b9c29-6312-4828-9d93-21217866a8c9/ie9-save-target-as-to-network-drive-fails . Will MS be pushing another patch for IE 10 for this reported issue?

IE 11 Internet Security Zone Protected Mode Problem

Hi All

We have a couple of random issues using IE 11 and was wondering if someone could shed a little light on it.

I think it boils down to an issue of the running of java but it's hard to pinpoint.

An example of the issue is present the below Technet article, it has expansion arrows on the left of the text that allow you to expand and collapse articles, this work in older version on IE and also other browsers, however in IE 11 they do not work until you uncheck protected mode from the Internet Security Zone:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398125.aspx

If left checked these not work, this issue manifests itself in various different ways depending on the site but the above is the clearest example. Scripting of Java applets is enabled as part of the default Medium-High setting.

Set compatibility list to default to IE9 instead of 7

I need to deploy some sites to run under compatibility mode as IE9 under IE11. The issue I am facing is that when setting is deployed through GPO, it defaults to IE7. Is there anyway that I can tell IE11 to run sites that are in the compatibility list to run as IE9 and not IE7?

KB2991509 Shuns Windows Server 2003

This is interesting.  Microsoft recently released KB2991509 to fix a serious performance problem in all versions of IE from 7 to 11 that was caused by a bad security update.

While the original security update was released for Windows Server 2003, KB2991509 does not list a Server 2003 download.  I presume this is because Windows Server 2003 is in the "Extended" support phase and this is technically a performance issue.  I think that's a poor interpretation of the support policy.  If you release a defective security update that cripples performance, you should release a fix to all operating systems that received the original defective security update regardless of what phase of support the product is in.

"You break it, you bought it" rules should apply here.

Anchor tags are not working on internet explorer when using touch devices

Hi,

I have a simple anchor tag like <a href=http://www.google.com></a>

Using a mouse there is no problem but when I use a touch device (windows 8.1/windows Phone 8.1), all that will happen when people touch it is that the link will be highlighted.I don't want to highlight it, I just want the link to open.

Double clicking the link will zoom in the page. It takes several attempts tapping the link to actually open it... this is VERY frustrating.

How can I remove this highlighting non-sense?

I found an article that seems to indicate this was done on purpose:

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2013/07/31/ie11-touch-browsing-for-today-s-web-and-beyond.aspx

It's a total failure if you ask me and it is very frustrating to use my site on a touch device.

Anyone has any idea on how to make links behave normally?

Best Regards,

Peter

IE failed to generate reports

One of our client is trying to generate reports with lots of
sub reports, its a single page report. If they generate it for 2-3 years
it works for all browsers, but when they generate it for 5 years.
Report works fine in chrome and firefox but IE will not be able to load
reports and show IE window "Internet explorer cannot load page".

There is no errors in eventlog or in IE console. Even Fiddler does
not give any information why IE could not able to load reports. It says
response 200.

Reports are generated successfully, as I can see that in log.

I am not sure why this is happening with IE(8,9,10).

Thanks

Internet Explorer refuses to navigate

Since the mid-august Windows update, I have a really strange problem with IE: most of time, it refuses to navigate from a site to another, and on some sites (eg. bing.com) it refuses to navigate inside the site itself.

Funny fact: if I opened an add-on panel which I wrote and does not interfare with navigation, then IE accepts to navigate, as long as the target is in the same page.

If I try to open a page in another tab or another window, it never works.

In all cases, it marks the hyperlink as navigated.

Finally, if I copy the shortcut and enter it in the address bar, it works perfectly.

I have already tried to uninstall/reinstall IE, use another account on the same machine, it does not change anything.

Configuration=Windows 8.1, 100% up to date

Thanks !

Outlook Web App 2010 and Internet Explorer 8 and 9 Crashing

Our Hosted Exchange provider switched us to Outlook Web App 2010 over the weekend and it causing us a lot of problems.

On our Windows 2008 x64 Server Standard SP2, OWA causes Internet Explorer to crash anytime a user tries to change to a different folder.

The only error message we get is:
Internet Explorer has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Steps taken:

Disabled all add-ins.

Reverted from IE 9 to IE 8 as that works on our Windows 2003 servers.

Reset Internet Explorer.

Added the site to the Trusted Sites list.

Tried it in Compatibility Mode.

Uninstalled Silverlight (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/c9d87352-e6a9-4123-b82e-c65e71e94fe0/owa-2010-crashes-ie9)

Performed all steps listed at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813444/en-us

After going through all of that, I disabled add-ins one by one. When I disabled the Windows Media Player add-in, OWA worked properly. Although there is a constant error message in IE8 that a necessary add-in is disabled. Since WMP is the only add-in disabled, I presume that is the one.

Here is the info about the add-in:

Name:                Windows Media Player
Publisher:              Microsoft Corporation
Type:                   ActiveX Control
Version:                11.0.6002.18311
File date:
Date last accessed:     September 02, 2014, 3:33 PM
Class ID:               {6BF52A52-394A-11D3-B153-00C04F79FAA6}
Use count:              3
Block count:            10
File:                   wmp.dll
Folder:                 C:\Windows\System32

So how do I make OWA work with IE8 and IE9 and WMP which is supposedly necessary?

OWA does work in Chrome though. Isn't that ironic?

Use Group Policy to Delete Browsing History Subcategories

I want to configure the Internet Explorer clients in my organization so that Delete browsing history on exit is configured.  I also would like to enable thePreserve Favorites website data and Temporary Internet files and website files settings so that the former are preserved and the latter deleted.  Here is an image showing my goal:

I see that I can configure the Delete browsing history on exit setting via a GPO, but I'm not sure how to configure the other two settings.  I've run Process Monitor on my computer in hopes of identifying registry keys that I can modify via a script, but I wasn't able to identify any.

I appreciate any help you can provide.

Unstable Internet Explorer

Does anyone else agree with me that, if there wasn't so much money to be made creating worthless apps, maybe Microsoft could devote more resources towards getting IE to work better?

When surfing news sites, I have to use both IE and Google Chrome so that when one locks up or just refuses to do a task (usually IE), I can switch to the other browser to complete the task.

It's a shame that one browser can't "do it all". And with all the automatic updates I get from Microsoft, you would think something to improve IE would be part of one of these many update "packages".

But what's a little inconvenience to users when you can make a ton of money ignoring them for something more lucrative?

Evidently, in the eyes of Microsoft "Internet Explorer works good enough, thank you!".

accelerators not appearing on right click

Hi

I have IE11 and windows 8.1.

After the last round of updates I no longer have any options

for using the accelerators when highlighting text and right clicking.

All I get is the copy/paste menu. I have unistalled IE 11 and reinstalled it to no avail.

All the accelerators are in the manage Add on window. I don't know what

has happened. The accelerators  are the only feature in IE that make it worth having.

Any help would be appreciated

thanks

Privacy Statement or Browser Has Been Upgraded page loads after June KB2957689 Cumulative Patch

$

Hi all,

I am often placed in charge of WSUS for our desktop estate which is primarily Windows 7 SP1 x86 with IE9 as the default browser. During testing today, I found after applying KB2957689 "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 9" when a user loads IE, an extra tab loads automatically which goes to the "MS IE9 Privacy Statement" page located at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/products/ie-9/windows-internet-explorer-9-privacy-statement. This only happens once per user after the patch is installed, so I'd imagine the patch adds, or enables a registry key for the first launch.

I can find no mention of this behaviour on the KB article, and no searches in the usual places has lead to any other reports of this happening. Ideally we want to avoid any unnecessary demand to the helpdesk by the displaying of the page.

Can anyone else confirm any similar mentions of this happening, or will I need to log a ticket with Microsoft for this?

Kind Regards, Steve Sands.
