hello,

i have downloaded and created a custom IE 9 package with the IEAK9. when i install it as a user and launch ie it works fine(meaning it has all the custom settings i created).

im looking to get it where all the users get the settings i created.

i have tried to do:

right click on the msi and do a run as admin..

tried psexec.exe with the -s

tried through gpo but i think i might be doing it wrong.

I am having a very unusual problem with Internet Explorer 11. When I click on the icon or access the program through the start menu it opens then closes and the downloads page appears. I am then given the option to save or save as what appears to be a download from google. I have limited technical knowlege but it appears to me that instead of opening the google homepage I am downloading it ?? If I save the download it then offers me the option of opening the file, when I do this another download appears!

I am writing this post from a friend's pc I cannot access the internet from my laptop at all; as internet explorer is the only browser I have installed. To date I have tried :

1. Reseting to default all settings in Internet options, including the advanced tab.

2. Disabling all non microsoft programmes in MSCONFIG and then restarting

3. I tried to find internet explorer in 'add or remove programs' it was not on the main list and when I tried to access windows compenents nothing appears in the popup box at all.

I urgently need access to my email account on that laptop to allow me to email documents I was working on over Xmas to my work email address, I cannot transfer the documents to a usb drive and then to my work PC, as it is a Govt laptop and this is not allowed in the PCs settings.

Would appreciate any help that anyone can offer.

I have one Website which has deployed on Windows 2008 R2 server.

I have one issue with one Web Page... In my Web page have 3 Text boxes for Passwords like -
Login          :
Password     :
Confirm Password :

So in this case, when this page load all data fills properly excluding confirm password.

"Confirm Password" text box always shows Blank. This text box already filled through code as per database value, but not shown value in this text box.

But same value is showing in first "Password" text box properly.

This problem occurred in IE 10 and 11 only. Same page is showing properly on other browsers and IE8 also.

Can you please give me any solution on this issue ?

After patch KB2888505 both IE 9 and IE 10 started displaying cropped images with horizontal scroll bars when viewing SSRS Reports.  These reports functioned and fit the screen without scroll bars prior to this patch and returns to normal once the patch is uninstalled.  There is no compatibility mode icon in the address bar and I have tried all browser modes in the F12 Developer Tools Menu with no change.  Rolling back KB2888505 was a temp fix for my users until KB2898785 was installed reverting back to the same cropped reports with the scroll bar.  The only versions of IE in my environment are 9 and 10 and upgrading to 11 is not an option at this time.  Others have reported this same issue so maybe we can get more visibility on TechNet.

Been using Win7 and Office 2013.  Since installing IE11 my outlook preview pane no longer renders html email correctly. It used to be possible to right click and select "download images" if you wanted, but that is gone and the images just don't render. Only option is to view the email in web browser.

What a hassle!  Anyone else run into this?

If I open an HTML Help system in IE, click the Search tab, type a term to search for and click Search, I get the results of the search in the left pane. If I then click on one of the results, nothing happens. The topic does not appear in the right pane.

If I perform the same steps, with the same Help system, in FireFox v26 or in Chrome v31, the topic appears in the right pane, as expected.

Is there a fix for this bug?

Hi ,

When i try to open the downloaded excel sheet from by just clicking on the "Open" button of "OPEN/Save/Cancel" popup giving an error message saying that "Unable to read file". When export the same excel sheet on firefox it is working fine but not with IE 10 & IE 11

After  resetting  the internet settings from internet options--> advanced tab--> click on reset button, then it is working fine.

But i want to know the what are the settings that cause to generate "unable to read file" error message.

Please help me, i will appreciate you.

This is a strange one.  Connectivity to Office 365 within our netwotk works fine although very slow for outlook 2010 client to initially connect. Once connected, it works ok.  I have done a netwotk trace using netmon to see if i can identify the reason for the slow startup (2 mins minumum for profile to load and for outlook to connect to exchange). The trace tell me that my local pc tries to make a direct connection to the office365 external IPs first, then tries the TMG proxy. Once it hits the proxy, it kicks into life and works.

So it looks to me like it thinks the external IP address of office 365 is an internal address and spends it time trying all the ip addresses until it trys the proxy.  At this point, theBypass Proxy Server for Local Addresses is ticked.

As soon as i untick this box, all traffic heads directly to the proxy and of course it connects like lighting.  The exchange settings proxy is set in outlook for "on fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP" (tick is on) and the same for slow networks.

I cant for the life of me work out why it tries to connect directly to the external IPs first and not connect via TMG until i untick theBypass Proxy Server for Local Addresses

Would love any ideas that may assist.

I am running Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7 and seem to have a memory issue.  I dont think this is new, I had memory issues on IE10 as well (I was hoping 11 would fix it).  I have 9 windows open with varying number of tabs for a total of 12 running web pages.  When i try to open another window, the title bar and address bar are gone and the window looks incomplete.  If i close down an instance I can then open a new window.  When I open Task Manager, i see 2 iexplore.exe (25mb and 56mb mem use) and 6 iexplorer.exe*32 with mem usage ranging from 158mb to 435mb!  

My laptop has 8gb ram and 3.2gb free.  So 1) why does IE use so much bloody memory still and 2)why cant i open another window when i have so much free ram?

Whenever I open my Internet Explorer 11(Windows 8.1), It sometimes opens, and it says it doesn't respond. 

I've already Reset the Internet Explorer Settings, I've also turned on the GPU rendering, and Security Enhanced Protected Mode.

Also, i know it's not an add on, because it's not working on an no add on tab also. 

Any Help?

So today I found a problem on my laptop so I did a system restore (factory setting) on HP G62.

Everything went fine, I was able to reset everything including reloading wireless information with password.  The laptop then did an automatic update (which I knew was coming) it said it must be restarted.  However, since the restart the IE is no longer working.  I get error:  unable to display webpage  for websites that are simple like Google when I take a second try I get:  the address is not valid.

Here is another interesting factor, the wireless icon in the lower right hand corner sometimes shows a yellow flag indicating local access only no internet connection.

I verified that the password to the wireless is typed in correctly.

The internet works fine on other devices.

The HP laptop is not indicating any other updates.

Without IE working at all, I cannot even try another browser so I can download one to try!

Can someone please help??

I've recently upgraded to Window's  8.1 , I'm on my 3rd reinstall but still can't get IE 11 metro functioning properly, the dudes at Microsoft support keep making a mess so I then have to keep reinstalling. Nobody knows how to fix this problem!

Every time I start the machine and run IE metro it just goes to the blue screen with the big "E" symbol and crashes

event viewer reports :

The server DefaultBrowser.DefaultBrowserActivatableClass did not register with DCOM within the required timeout

I've been using a bizarre work around. First start machine then login wait for start up items to load, then hit the restart button wait for machine to restart login wait for start up items to load low and be hold IE metro runs.

IE metro will only run if a "RESTART" is used to start the machine.

1) Don't tell me all the usual crap like clearing file history ssl caches, it don't work!!!! 

2) Don't tell me to reset the browser it don't work!!!!! it's how I found that just using the "RESTART" button works.

3) Don't tell me to uninstall IE via programmes and feature and unselecting the IE check box restarting and reinstalling IE that don't work either!!!

 I getting very sick of the useless Pilipino dudes at Microsoft support, they are just googling for solutions, jeez I've already done that!!

Is Microsoft ever going to patch this piece of crap!!!! doesn't matter how I reinstall the problem never goes away.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on an Asus laptop. According to the techies at MSN there are some compatibilty issues between IE 11 and MSN. Specifically, many of the links on the MSN.com homepage are not accessible, e.g., wonderwall.com and the calendar.live.com. I have been able to get the calendar when logged into Google chrome , and the links on the MSN.com homepage are accessible with IE and Google. The MSN techies said the only way to fix the problem was to uninstall IE 11 and then download IE 10. I know there is no way to really "uninstall" IE 11 so is there a work around for this issue.  I've tried fixing with "compatibility view", but that hasn't worked.  I can't even add "wonderwall.com"

I would appreciate any advice/recommendations as to how to fix this problem

I have tried numerous times to download IE 11 to my desktop PC running Windows 7 Pro. 32 Bit even though it is marked as an important update. It gets to about 3/4 on the install process and then stops with a fail to install, Try again. No matter how many times I try it just stops always at the same point. I do have all Windows 7 updates that have been issued so far. The only issue I have with Windows is to do with the "Teredo tunnelling adaptor" which has "! in a yellow triangle" by it. I've tried to update the driver but I'm always told I have the latest driver installed but it still will not work. I have no other issues so is this "Teredo adaptor" causing my problem, I have no idea what it is or what it does.. 

Something broken?

In the last week, all of a sudden every time I try to log into my BlogSpot I keep getting the message...Possible problem with your .gwt.xml module file. The compile time user.agent(IE9) does not match the  runtime user.agent value (IE10). Expect more errors. I use IE10, not IE9 and have been using it since it came out. Now, all of a sudden I am getting this message. Can you tell me how to fix it?

When I print any webpage in IE10 in Windows 7, the footer contains a file path like file:///C:/Users/username/AppData/Local/Temp/Low/80S1TSTK.htm instead of the URL of the webpage I am printing. In the Page Setup settings of Print Preview I have chosen to print the URL in the footer. This started happening after I reinstalled Windows when my computer got infected.

I have tried the following but I still have the problem.

In my registry I went to the path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\PageSetup and made sure the footer value is &u&b&d.

When above action did not fix it, I reset Internet Explorer (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737). The problem remains. It is still there after IE automatically updated to IE11.

Any help will be appreciated.

I find this problem posted all over the internet -- however, I have found few answers and no solutions that work.

Java will not run in IE9 

In the last three days I have installed Java 7.5 at least five times (after total uninstalls).

I have Windows 7 Home premium with all updates installed.  Anti-virus programs are installed.

Even the java website   http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp cannot detect the Java program in IE9.  It displays the following message:  “No working Java was detected on your system.  Install Java by clicking the button below.”

I know you don’t want to hear about other browsers, however, this is part of the diagnoses – Java works fine in Chrome.  (Obviously, there are some programs that can only be accessed in IE.)

I have tried turning off the firewall, anti-virus AVG, active x filtering, and every other program.  I have cleared the browsing history, cookies, etc.  50 times = nothing works.

I experienced that Java did work once and only once in IE9 after each of two new reinstallations of Java 7.5.

Process Explorer shows that Java is running, I’ve included a screen- shot (hope it shows up)

All knowledgeable answers are appreciated.
