Spelling Correction Add-On for Internet Explorer 10 on Windows Server 2012 Missing

Hi

Has anyone else found that the Internet Explorer 10 Spelling Correction Add-On is missing on Windows Server 2012? I am running Windows Server 2012 as Session based RDS servers and on each server the Spelling Correction Add-On is missing completely. My version of IE 10 is 10.0.9200.16635 and the server is fully patched with the latest updates. Is it possible to install/add/enable the add-on? I have searched extensively for a resolution but have found no reference to this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Windows Server 2012 manage add-ons does not show the spelling correction add-on:

Why IHTMLWindow7::getComputedStyle call returns E_NOINTERFACE in Edge?

I am trying to get current style of an element in Edge by calling IHTMLWindow7::getComputedStyle but it fails with E_NOINTERFACE. Using the same code for IE 11 on the same computer returns valid style object. IHTMLElement2::get_currentStyle also does not work (this call just crashes Edge). What can I do to get current style of an element in Edge from external C++ code?

Websites not listing under Compatibility View Settings

I am trying to add couple of website under compatibility list for Internet Explorer 11 using following group policy but it does not list:
User Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Compatibility View

I have also tried pushing the website via following registry, still no results:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/BrowserEmulation/ClearableListData

IE 11 upgrade appears to have corrupted TIF affecting Outlook 2010 (images) and Excel 2010 (embedded queries)

I'm running Windows 7 Professional and just upgraded IE from 9 to 11. Afterwards, I observed that Outlook 2010 was not downloading pictures (instead showing red x's) and Excel 2010 embedded internet queries stopped working.

I think I've cornered the problem, but can't seem to fix. I have also observed that IE's temporary internet files (TIF) folder may be missing (Internet Options>Browsing History>Settings>Temporary Internet Files shows nothing under Current Location) and the allotted disk space is set to zero and cannot be changed. If I input another number (no matter the number), I receive the following error message:

"Please select a value between 8 and 8 for how much disk space Temporary Internet Files may use."

I have tried renaming the following RegEdit keys, but to no avail: Cache and LowCache (both under HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Windows>Internet Settings>5.0). They get replaced when IE11 is re-opened.

The actual values within the registry keys are as follows:

Cache>Content>CacheLimit = 8192 (Decimal)

LowCache>Content>CacheLimit = 256000 (Decimal)

This is driving me crazy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unable to see 'Office 365 Admin Center Preview' page content in IE11 after SysPrep

I've built a VM in Hyper-V to deploy to five PCs, but when I go to my Office 365 admin page using IE11: I'm unable to see the page content:

Image

As you can see, the page has loaded, but everything below the black header bar is not showing, neither is the tab bar that should run vertically down the left of the page.

I thought this was a Hyper-V problem, but going back to an earlier point in the build shows it's fine.  In fact it's okay up to the point just before running SysPrep.

My next Checkpoint is after SysPrep and first OOBE boot, taken at the point where the 'Hi there' screen prompts you to confirm regional settings:

Image

At this point, if instead of completing the OOBE set-up, I press Clt+Shift+F3 to enter Audit Mode once more, I'm logged on as the built-in Administrator account and the problem's not there. If, however, I do complete the OOBE set-up and log on as my user account (admin), the problem's there.  So something's happening between the start of SysPrep and first user logon, but I don't know what it is or how to fix it.

I'm not sure that entering Audit Mode again after running SysPrep undoes any or all of the changes specified in my Answer File (it's a pretty simple one) so I don't know if it proves anything, but I've tried running Sysprep on a basic VM without the '/unattend' switch to see if it's the same, but SysPrep failed.

IE11 seems to work fine apart from this fault, but I haven't really used it much yet so it's hard to tell - I discovered this problem purely by chance.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling IE11 using 'Turn Windows features on or off' - Uncheck IE11 - Restart - 'Turn Windows features on or off'  - Check IE11 - Restart, but this doesn't fix the issue.

Not sure where to go from here.

My favorities have all disappeared from IE11. How do I get them back and is there a fix so they don't disappear again. I have 2 computers and I have lost them on both computers!!!!

Visio files all the sudden won't open in IE. Prompts for Open, Save, Save as.

Not sure what happened. The Visio files were opening just fine a few minutes ago, and now when I try to open them, IE prompts me continuously for "Open, Save, Save as." I tried all three options for the fun of it and IE still prompts every time. Tried opening them from a remote PC and they open just fine. Can't do anything with them on my PC except view them in Visio itself.

I've tried resetting IE settings. Uninstalling IE 11 and going down to 10. Nothing in event viewer for IE.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

YouTube increasingly hostile towards IE

A few months (April of '16) ago I had a problem that suddenly popped up where none of our users could render YouTube videos on IE11.  I tried bypassing our proxy, resetting settings, clearing cache / cookies / history, etc.  No joy
You would get something unhelpful like the following:

As a workaround, I pushed out a group policy to render youtube.com videos in Flash, instead of HTML5 by enforcing compatibility mode on that domain.  Crisis averted.
However, now IE gets stuck on the following message, whereas in the past this would flash briefly before proceeding to the video.

So I have now unenforced this group policy and went back to HTML5.  We still get the generic error message.  However, if users just refresh the page and wait 5 seconds the video will eventually play.  I'm getting more and more people on Win 10 / Edge and Edge doesn't have this issue as far as I can tell.  However, certain websites (I'm looking at you government websites) still require IE.  Anyone else experiencing this?

SRX1349205453 Need a 'program' that is part of IE so one 3rd-party program that is tied to IE will open. After installing Win10, MS tech support had me uninstall IE because neither it or Edge would open. Reinstalled IE without fixing anything so tech had me uninstall again and run a fix program. Then reinstall. Fix program couldn't find problem. Uninstalled. Now can't get IE to download.  Prior to Win10 install, IE was unstable with multiple crashes.

Rolling back to Internet explorer10 from Explorer 11 in Windows 10

I need to rollback to Internet Explorer 10 from 11 in Windows 10 in order to utilize functionality in my company's proprietary programs, Is this possible, and if it is possible, how do I go about it ?

Receiving two prompts when downloading a file.

Good morning all,

I have a RDS Environment. Session Hosts, Collection Brokers, Web servers and Gateway servers are all Windows 2012 R2. GPO are used to lockdown and configure the uses sessions and desktops. This is a terminal server deployment, not a virtualized desktop deployment. Users' profile are stored via profile disks. The browser used in this environment is IE 11, not Edge.

When an end users downloads a pdf file, they receive two prompt in succession. The first asks: "Do you want to save 'PDF file name' from 'website url'?". This first prompt has a 'Save' button and an 'Cancel' button. It does not have an 'Open' button. The website url is in the Trusted security zone for IE 11. If the users click the 'Save' button, the second  prompt states: "The 'PDF file name' download has completed." This second prompt has an 'Open' button, 'Open folder' button and 'View downloads' button.

When an Admin downloads a PDF, they receive only one prompt. It asks: "Do you want to open or save 'PDF file name' from 'website url'?". This prompt has three butons: 'Open', 'Save', and Cancel.

What configuration or configurations are set in GPOs to cause this double prompts?

My goal is to have all users have only one prompt with three buttons, like the admin users.

Thank for your help on this.
