Hello,

I'm trying to support a remote user who is having problems with web pages taking a long time to load. He's using Windows 7 Pro with IE 11 and it's the same company image that everyone else is using.

He said web sites always used to come right up but now is taking much longer. We tried both IE and Chrome with similar results. I tried going to the same sites from my computer and they pop right up for me. My remote connection to his laptop seemed fine so I'm not convinced it's his connection speed. I removed some tool bars, scanned for and removed some malware, updated video and network drivers, cleared the temp file and cache, and did a reset on IE.

After that it seemed to be fine at first but then it slowed down again. Everything else on the laptop seems to work and the web pages, once they load, seem to be ok.

Am I missing anything? What else could I take a look at?

I am having an issue where Protected Mode causes certain websites to crash with IE11. I have noticed it on three different websites. Our internal Citrix webpage, GoToAssist's portal, and our Exchange OWA website. If Protected Mode is on, these websites cause IE11 to crash. When Protected Mode is off, the websites work fine. I have only seen this behavior on Windows 10. It works fine on Windows 7. I have noticed this on multiple machines that are both domain and non-domain machines.

My OS : windows 10
My IE : v11.162.10586.0   update v11.0.29   

I found that there is a bug in my IE.

F12 > in console,  if I execute following

var x1 = Number.MAX_SAFE_INTEGER; console.log(x1+1);

it prints NaN. It's wrong.

( In Chrome F12, it prints 9007199254740992.  This is the right result. )

console.log(x1+n); // where n is arbitrary integer. IE always prints NaN.

Using Windows Update on Windows 7 SP1, there is an option to enable "Microsoft Update" at the bottom to also update Office and other Microsoft applications:

Get updates for other Microsoft products. Find out more.

,

This opens a webpage, which in IE 10 and earlier, allows me to enable Microsoft Update.

However, IE 11 does not show the page to enable Microsoft Update but shows a useless and unrelated help message:

Use your Start menu to check for updates

How am I supposed to enable the optional Microsoft Update service now?

I have created a website for my boy scout troop.  Please see the website at this link.  http://www.bsatroop856.org/  This is a google site, and I embedded a google calendar into the webpage using googles gadget, giving it all the proper permissions.  I am able to view the calendar fine in other browsers, but with IE, I get the error message "This content cannot be displayed in a frame.  To help protect the security of information you enter into this website, the publisher of this content does not allowed it to be displayed in a frame."  How can I fix this problem so that everyone can view it?  I have already checked my security settings.  I need a work around so that anyone who comes to the site can view the information without having to manipulate their browser settings.  Thanks.

Hi,

Our web application encountered a problem.

After installation of a security update for Internet Explorer 8 (KB3038314), the system displays ‘Navigation to webpage was cancelled’ on a separate pop-up dialog window after clicking several menu items in its main menu. The expected behaviour is that the content or screen represented by the menu item will be displayed in the designated frame.

Upon clicking a new menu item which will trigger replacing the frame's content URL, the expectation is for the system to be able to replace the value of the frame's location.href property. Upon debug inspection, this is "Permission Denied".

The following vulnerabilities are addressed by the patch and have direct implications on IE8:

 Multiple Memory Corruption

 Address Space Layout Randomization (ALSR) Bypass , Remote Code Execution

*Is it possible that the patch may have affected accessing the URL property of the frame??

Any ideas would help. Thanks.

Hello; A rare conditon: I cant get sound out of any internet video. sound card is ok. Sound from every other source is ok,,,except from internet explorer videos of any kind.

Hi everyone.

We use a web portal version of our accounting software and it has Business Objects reports embedded within it. I have a user who can run reports fine but lately when she tries to "save report to computer as", she gets a message that reads "What do you want to do with downloadPDFforExcel_jsp?iViewerID=1&Entry=we0002". Whatever option she selects results in nothing happening. She used to be able to save the report as an Excel file on her desktop or other locations using IE. She can do it using Firefox which is also installed on her computer. I have reset IE back to defaults, deleted browsing history and cleared out temp files, etc. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled IE. These may work temporarily but eventually the issue comes back. Can someone offer some suggestions on what I can try? If have searched the Internet and the suggestions I try to not stop this for very long. The operating system is Windows 7.

Hi,

We are setting up a new transparent web proxy on one of our subnets, and on the other subnets we are using explicit proxy which the clients get the WPAD url trough option 252 in DHCP. On the new subnet with transparent proxy, no WPAD is configured in DNS or DHCP. We would like to use "Automatically detect settings" on all machines, and this shouldn't cause any issues as it would go to direct communication when not finding WPAD on the new subnet.
Now to the problem: Even trough no WPAD is configured to be offered in DNS or DHCP for the new subnet, IE still pulls the WPAD from the other subnet, if the client ever has been on that network, and tries to use the explicit proxy that blocks the traffic from that network.
Why is IE continuing to grab information from a WPAD that isn't offered? Same goes for Skype for business and Outook that uses exchange Online. Non-MS applications like Chrome does not use the WPAD, and acts correctly.
We have verified that the WPAD isn't offered trough FwcTool so configuration should be correct, but we still seen in C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\winhttp that it pulls the PAC.

Any ideas?

OS: Windows Server 2008 R2

Browser: IE11

Repro Steps:

1. Open IE11 and navigate to https://portal.office.com/

Result: Browser keeps on spinning 

2. Works fine on IE 11 with In private browsing

3. Tried with IE without add-ons as well but no luck.

4. Tried resetting browser and advanced setting etc but no luck.

5. Works fine on other browsers (IE10, ff, ch) and machines.

4. But able to navigate to other websites like bing.com google.com etc.

Hi

I have a clean installation of Windows 10.1 enterprise (English).

I try to use Microsoft Edge browser to search a query. All settings are just "default out of the box".

Most queries work ok but if I try a query with a dot then browser thinks I am entering an URL. For example I try searching "xamarin forms 2.0". This ends up with browser attempting to open an URL: "http://xamarin%20forms%202.0/" which obviously fails.

In classic Internet Explorer 11 this problem does not reproduce, only in Edge.

Any idea how to fix that?

I have my taskbar set up to stack multiple tabs/windows of the same type. Currently, when I hover over an icon, it shows me the open windows in a list style. I want to change this so that when I hover over the icon, it shows me thumbnails of the opened windows. I hope that makes sense. I can't remember where to change the settings to accomplish this.

My printer was working fine, than all of a sudden came up as outdated driver.  I cannot find a driver for my Windows 7 for HP photosmart 7550. Would you please help me?

Simple really.

GPEDIT "turn off page zooming functionality" does not seem to work in 8.1 on my Toughpad 4K.

Am I missing something? A check of the registry shows that "ZoomDisabled" or whatever it was = 1 yet pinch zoom still works on 8.1

Notes: 10 is not an option, this is for embedded. Chrome et cetera are also not options for the same reason.

Registry, real working GPEdit good.

Requiring specially coded HTML if it works might be an option but I would prefer not to have to explore that canal.

Hi All.
a technical issue I have now and it become very critical, in our organization there is about 800 PC. we have a clone image to deploy and all of the PCs with the same installation files.

to control IE , we used IE 10 Admin kit to create a customized internet explorer version. and now it become critical issue as IE now running out of day

we can't update Internet explorer from version 10 which installed by IE Admin kit to version 11 and it always give me error..

I tried to install perquisite updates to upgrade from version 10 to version 11 .. it didn't success.

I tried to install IE 11 " offlice installation" it didn't work.

I tried to have IE 11 package created by IE 11 admin kit to update IE 10 ,.. it didn't success ..

i am able to collect data using WMI but unable to  get it on XML file .i am providing a local location of the file but unable to collect any data . 

the data collection is only working for single user how to enable it for all users?/

Hello,

lately a lot of our Windows 7 machines are having sporadic problems with the Enterprise Mode.

When the problem occurs, all websites listed in the Enterprise Mode Site List are not working anymore, the loading of the page just stops on a white page with no error message:

- pages not in the site list work fine (websites accessed trough proxy as well as intranet sites)
- the problem is limited to the current user account, reboot/logoff/run IE as another account resolves the problem
- resetting IE settings and following gpupdate solves the problem
- clearing browser history/temp etc. has no effect

IE version is 11.0.9600.18204 - 11.0.28.

Is anyone experiencing the same issues or has any suggestions how to figure out whats the cause?
