Hi everyone,

I currently have a mixed environment of IE9, 10 and 11 and need to turn off and make unavailable to the users a few options. I was able to get everything done in IE9 but I am unable to get the last item for IE10 and IE11. I can't get "Use Microsoft compatibility lists" (IE11) and "Download updated compatibility lists from Microsoft" (IE10) to gray out. I have been trying to do this through GPO.

Below is a screenshot of the policy I made.  I created the policy as a Computer policy.  I tried to create a user one with the setting but that did not appear to help.  I have been trying to do research but have not gotten anywhere.  I've downloaded the latest ADM files.

Hi,

Since a few days back a strange problem started ocurring for some users in our domain. Some have IE9 others like me have IE11. Problem is that IE can't browse Internet pages (it just keep loading with the white screen) when Protected mode is ON. Previously there was no problem with this. Other browsers don't have this issue. OS in the company is Win7.

Hi Guys,

In our org. recently the intranet portal is being launched having webpages built using Html5 & CSS3, everything seemed to be working fine until we had this issue of printing via all Internet Explorer browser version.

Issue Description:

Couple of symptoms of the issues when trying to print.

1. The printer name is invalid (res://ieframe.dll/preview.js)
2. The remote server machine does not exist or is unavailable (res://ieframe.dll/preview.js)
3. Whenever print is fired the printer goes in hung state, we have to power off and power on the same

Observation:

1. The same webpage when we try to print using Mozilla firefox / Google chrome there is no issue
2. The print model is HP LaserJet M4345 MFP series
3. The printer is installed using TCP configuration on member server and the printer is shared for client PCs(Windows7/8.1)
4. As soon as the print is fired on the server where printer is configured observe event ID 10 which states print was successful
   1. Document 161, URL - website owned by UserA was printed on HP LaserJet 4345 mfp - IT PCL 6 via port IP_10.14.1.132. Size in bytes: 499992; pages printed: 1
5. We also tested the print on several other printer model like Lexmark and the issue is same.
6. If the printer is configured locally using USB and tried to print – print is successful
7. If we print to XPS doc, it prints properly using IE for that page
8. Tried to trace what’s happening using netmon when print is fired using IE and below is the screenshot

1. Came across this registry thing while troubleshooting and didn’t know how it could relate to the issue while deep diving into netmon logs   (ms724884)
   1. REG_DWORD_LITTLE_ENDIAN

Action Taken:

1. KB 2511250 / 308260 / 2652062  - didn’t worked
2. Installed hotfixes on windows 7 PC KB2028560 / KB2454826 / KB2028551 – didn’t worked
3. logged case with HP Support – updated the drivers UPD PS – didn’t worked (still working on it)
4. enabled / disabled script debugging on IE advanced settings – didn’t worked
5. turned on / off protected mode – didn’t worked
6. tried running in 32/64bit version – didn’t worked
7. tried running in run as administrator mode – didn’t worked
8. registered IE dlls with regards to print – didn’t worked
9. reinstalled IE – didn’t worked

 

It seems when print is fired the job is sent to server and as soon as the server spooled the print job in to printer, the printer used to get hung.

Printer queue would show the status as printing but won’t print, if we don’t cancel the job the printer after powered ON would again go into hung state.

Would appreciate for your prompt response on the above issue mentioned and do revert for more queries, any points/step if I have missed.

Has anybody else seen this issue and found a resolution

This is what I found when trying to troubleshoot so far :

Get-WindowsUpdateLog

If you run this powershell command it will put the windowsupdate.log file on your desktop and this is what I see :

Which makes no sense except to say this error 0x80240022 is referring to my firewall being enabled

Today Windows Edge, Start key and notifications all disappeared !! Latest security update will not install (KB3087040). Probably don't need this but I would like to know what's happening with the other problems. Last time I had to reinstall windows 10 to get everything back but in the process I had to reinstall many other programs. I don't want t do that ever again. Please check as I cannot be the only one with this issue.

I have two domain controllers, both Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise, 64 bit. The hardware is identical on both blade servers. I am unable to install IE 10 on one of the servers. The first one worked doing windows updates, the second one keeps failing. Failed message from windows updates: Errors found: Code 9C59 Windows Update encountered an unknown error. I have tried multiple KB articles to try and get this downloaded (normally coming back with already installed or not applicable) as well as try standalone installs. None have worked. Any help would be great.

Has there been any update regarding the loss of search engine management that KB2988414 forced on us??? Simply put I cannot manage changing the search engine in WIN7x64 ENT images without them being changed back. I have tried the IEAK, GP, AutoUnattend.xml, assorted scripts, assorted reg settings all with no success.

Hello,

 we are about to enroll the IE11 to our company (currently using IE9). During the testing process we got a strange problem while showing videos on the IE11: The videos or not playing. It doesn’t matter which video or which website or if it’s a Flash or HTML5 video.

But if the notebook went to standby once, the videos are showed without any problems. We even can keep the IE open. Just a refresh of the website after the standbay is enough.

We checked that the video file is downloaded completely to the client. As we don’t have any problems with the IE9 we don’t assume a problem with the proxy or the antivirus software. 

We are using Windows 7 Enterprise on Lenovo notebooks, with IE11.0.23

 At the moment we do not have any idea what is making that kind of problems before the standby. What is the standby procedure changing in a running Windows?

Internet Explorer crashes whenever I try to setRequiredLevel for a field in dynamics CRM 2013 hosted org. Below is the code which is causing issue.

I have tried using setTimeOut but it did not worked. There is no debug information about this. I have updated IE 11 to 11.0.3 but it also went in vain. This code is running fine in IE 10 or there browsers. I am running windows 8. Kindly help me I am stuck on this.

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out how to enable and configure the content advisor for IE 11 through GPO. The setting in Group Policy preferences is greyed out and there is no way to configure from a regular policy. The only setting relates to showing the content advisor option (it's disabled by default).

I don't wish to use IEAK.

Hi All,

My customers were using IE11 running on Window 8 to login my Web Application. After loading, a lot of icons (most properly were GIF images) were missed. I used Developer Tool to checked and i found out that those missing images were not downloaded completely even the HTTP Code was returned 200. Kindly refer to the below picture. Actually, the image's size was 1.6 KB, however, the browser only downloaded 0.7 KB then returned 200. This issue happened differently every time i tried. Sometime, this image was ok but the others were missed. I have no idea how to investigate, any help would be very appreciated, Thanks.

Hello - I have a user that is trying to select Enterprise mode but it never enables Enterprise mode and the check never shows up next to Enterprise mode. If I logon with a different user it works fine so it looks to be the users profile.  Before I recreate the user profile I was hoping somebody else as come across a better solution.

Hello Everyone,

I have been investigating an issue that doesnt seem to have the valid data that i have investigated through countless Microsoft articles pertaining to the registry path below. We do have group policies applied for the browser but even under the policy path in the registry we do not find any clear findings that leads me to believe that adding sites to compatibility is actually logged anywhere in the registry.

Can anyone help me understand this mystery.

Hi,

I have a old CRM system that must be run in Enterprise mode (it will be upgraded soon). The sitelist works fine through group policy, however the CRM is running on port :5555 how do I specify in the sitelist so the Enterprise mode start also on this port?

I have added the site to xml file but site list manager removes port number from url. The sites.xml file looks like this:

  <emie>
  <domain exclude="false">crm<path exclude="false">/company</path></domain>
  </emie>
</rules>

Now if I visit the site http://crm (which only contain IIS splash page), enterprise mode is enabled. However if I visit the real site on port 5555: http://crm:5555/ Enterprise mode is NOT on.

How can I make sitelist to force IE11 in enterprise mode on a different/specified port (or all ports) for a domain?

Hi everybody,

We are encountering a problem after our migration to IE11 on Windows 7 x64.

We want to use x32 version but with a domain user we can launch only x64 version (task manager exe without *32). Enhanced mode is unchecked.

When we do the same operation with a local user, no problem there is two process of ie (one x64 and one x32) and tabs are in x32 mode. (Enhanced mode unchecked too)

No particular GPO for this on the domain.

Any ideas of what's happening here ?

For our current use case, it is required that we have both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of java installed on Windows 7 64-bit client computers. The 32-bit version is required for Legacy applications and is set as the default for IE 11 64-bit. We have a java program pushed through a URL that needs to run using 64-bit Java instead of the Default 32-bit version.

Since IE is running in Enhanced Protected Mode, we have even tried enabling [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main] "Isolation"="PMEM" "Isolation64Bit"=dword:00000001

We still see the 32-bit java version of the program running in the logs no matter how we tweak IE.
