$

I recently upgraded IE from 9 to 10. When I try to download MS Visio files (.vsd format), it doesn't prompt me to Save as... but to Open it only. With other formats, its fine and I can save them... but not with the VSD files.

Please help in enabling this feature for .vsd file. Thanks!!

Hi All,

We have most of our RDS Server running IE 8.0  butWhen a user logs on to an RDS  Server which has IE 9.0 installed the favourites are gone. The favourites are deleted. I can restore the favourites folder but it's almost a 1000 users that I'll have to do this for.

Any ideas as to what causes. any fixes

Cheers,

Saving/Remembering IE10 Browser Mode and Document Mode for specific websites?

I am using Internet Explorer 10 and as we all know, some websites cannot be viewed properly by the standard browser mode and document mode. The "Developer Tools" can be opened by pressing F12 on your keyboard and in there, the "Browser Mode" and the "Document Mode" can be found.

So I am wondering if there is a way to save the Browser Mode and Document mode for certain specific websites? It is really such a downfall for us to change those 2 options each and every time we open the website in a new tab or in a new window.

Unable to login to partner website using IE9 and IE10

The problem is that the site requires login with a user account that exists in the external organization, and I'm attempting to login from a computer that's a member in an ActiveDirectory domain.

When accessing the link to the site (https ://livelink.someorganization.com) I get a "Windows Security" dialog box asking for username and password.

So far so good, and I have a username and password for the site.

But the Dialog Box also includes my ActiveDirectory domain, which causes the login to fail.

And I haven't been able to find out how to get around this problem because:

1 I don't know the AD domain name in the external organization

2 I don't expect they want to broadcast that information outside their organization anyway.

If I login to the site using another browser, it works smoothly.

Because the login dialog only asks for username and password, and doesn't automaticly include my AD domain.

How can I get around this problem using IE?

I've tried from 4 different PCs, running Win 8 Pro x64 or Win 7 Pro x64, with IE 9 or IE 10.

Thanks

[IE10] Crypto providers

$

Hy,

I have been using Internet Explorer to access third party CA's interfaces with success until the new IE 10 launch.

The problem is that using IE10, when the third party CA software needs to get the crypto providers list from the Operating System it is not able and I get an empty list.

This does not happens with IE7, 8 or 9, only with IE10.

In Windows 7 with IE 9, I can get the crypto providers, but if I install IE 10 it fails again.

This is a real problem in Windows 8, since there is no IE 9...

I know that third party CA's are not Microsoft concern, but since this is a problem so specific, only happening with IE10, what has been changed concerning this matter in IE10?

I know this is/was also affecting Microsoft CA, however in my case, the compatible mode does not solve the problem.

Can anyone help?

Can't open PDF from Sharepoint 2010 on premises site, IE or Windows Explorer

Hi,

Hoping that someone can help me with this problem as it's really got me stumped.

I have read many posts regarding problems with Sharepoint 2010 not opening pdf files from IE. Unfortunately none of those issues directly relate to my problem. They seem to be saying that Sharepoint is asking you to save instead of open.

In my situation, when a pdf file is clicked with Sharepoint  on premises site, the file will try and open, and then return an error of "The URL you have provided could not be reached. Please verify that the URL is correct and that the network location is reachable". I am convinced this is due to a password issue. We had a separate issue of people being asked for passwords every time they opened a document. When it came to PDF's, if a user pressed Cancel to skip typing in a password, the pdf would open fine. If a password was entered, the error above was displayed.

Now we have resolved the issue of the password prompt, it's possible that Sharepoint is sending the username and password to Adobe reader to open the pdf. And because Adobe is not Microsoft technology, it wont accept the values of username and password and will not open. Also probably why it worked when Cancel was clicked.

In addition I have tried another sharepoint online site, and PDF's open fine in the browser. It's obviously something within the Sharepoint 2010 on premises installation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

IE 9 und Office können keine Dateien herunterladen

$

Hallo zusammen,

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\Cache
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\LowCache

Gledis Lushaj

Hi

Yet my name is not showing up in the webpage and went I l click on the done message in the lower left hand side of the webpage it states script error as shown in the picture script error.png. I have tried several ideas of

1) tools, internet options, advanced, disable script error in IE, and other, and unchecked display a notifcation in every script error

2) I went to security, custom, and disabled xss filter.

3) I emtpied all temp, cookies, history

4) I went to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308260 and tried these ideas and nothing helps

5) I even did a reset to IE which disabled all my add ons. This solved it temporarliy and when I rreanble 1 or all of them the script errror came back. I turned all of them off and slowly added them but this idea also did not work either

The webpage works great in Google chrome and IEx64 bit but not IE8 regular

Nothing helps to get rid of the error and allow my name to show up

Any help would be great

If someone can't come up with a simple solution soon, I will just change to Chrome, which seems to print fine!

I installed the software/drivers for Officejet 6700. It stated that I had to upgrade my browser to: Chrome, Safari or IE9. I was using IE8. I moved and won't have access to the 6700 for a couple weeks, but thought it best to get my computer set up for it. I am using the HP Photosmart 4580 wireless printer. I can print fine from Chrome, (which I downloaded due to this problem), and Safari. I removed IE9, and printing was again, no problem. I have spent at least 10 hours on this problem, researching websites etc., including Microsoft websites and forums. (One would think that Microsoft would have a DEFINITE ANSWER to this problem instead of sending users to look over numerous topics and only get SUGGESTIONS.) Getting more irate about Microsoft's lack of concern for finding fixes for the average user!!! Can anyone help me with a definite solution on this forum?

Thanks in advance, kcwbird

Issues with Internet Explorer 8 - Forever to open Internet Explorer using Yahoo. System does not allow me to attach files to email? Times where Windows Internet Explorer pop-up will display "Issue with Windows Explorer reading .dll". Should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 10?

If I were to download Internet Explorer 10 would I lose all emails, contacts, etc. Is it worth the effort?

IE 10 not working in "Metro"...desktop works fine

$

Windows 8 Enterprise 64-bit, with all patches through December, running on Lenove X200T...IE 10 working fine on the desktop, but not at all in Metro/Modern/Windows 8Store/whatever version. It simply does not open a window when I select it...Task Manager does not show any IE running. All works perfectly well in the desktop.

It was running prior to the December patches, which sort of points to the issue, but I would rather not remove a security patch...not that fond of browsing in that version anyway.

Has anyone else noticed this issue, and if so, is there a resolution.

   John

Installing IE9 on 2008 R2 Session Host using e:\ drive

We have a 2008 R2 Session Host that has a C:\ and E:\ drive configured.

We've changed the registry entries that set the "Program files" and "Program files (x86)" folders to the E:\ drive but when we install IE9 and then try to run it, the screen flashes up and then disappears.

Has anyone else had a similar experience and is there a way around this as we'd like to store all our applications on the E:\ drive if possible.

Cheers for now

Internet Explorer hangs at start-up

I have been running IE 9 on Windows 7 since I bought my laptop, with no problems (approx three years).

Four or five days ago I used it in the afternoon, no problems, and then in the evening it would not load when I hit the IE icon.   The machine had not bee switched off and no updates had been applied in the interim.

I have tried resetting IE as suggested in several online forums and also tried downloading a portable version of "Fix it" on my main PC; neither solution worked.   Fix it will download but then I get an error message saying "try again later" which I have done over the past two days to no effect.   I have tried running IE with "no add-ons"; no joy!   I have downloaded the Microsoft Safety Scanner; no malware found!

I am rapidly running out of options so I'd be very grateful for any suggestions that might fix this glitch!

How to uncheck 'Display all websites in Compatibility View' in IE9?

How do I uncheck 'Display all websites in Compatibility view' in IE9 with GPO? I enabled 'Turn on Internet Explorer Standards Mode for Local Intranet' but it the check box still enable at 'Display all websites in compatibility view'. I did run gpupdate, and even restart the PC.

My goal is to set local intranet (or better yet, certain local intranet sites) to run in IE9 native mode, not compatibility mode. Help, thanks.
