Hi,

We have a program here at work called XpressVIP4.5.  It is a program used to set up and configure modules for remote car starters.  The issue I have is not with the program itself (at least, I'm trying to investigate whether or not the program is good).  We are having difficulty running the program on Internet Explorer 9 - the main problem being intermittent connection issues where the addon recognizes the module, then loses it, then reconnects to it.

The program is installed on the OS in its own separate Program Files folder, but it runs exclusively as an add on for IE.  Upon further inspection I noticed that the website recognizes the version of the addon to be v4.1 when the most recent version installed onto the OS is v4.5 (the most up to date version).  I'm wondering why internet explorer is not recognizing the update to 4.5, and is instead persistently running an older version of the addon. 

We have tried reinstalling several times, but to my understanding you cannot uninstall IE addons without deleting the addon information and the appropriate class ID's in the registry.  I'm currently searching for those but I noticed this version recognition issue and was wondering if anyone here could address it.  Thank you very much for your time!

I am running 64 bit Widows7 and I have a back-up of my Favourites folder that I want to restore from an external disc drive to a clean copy of Windows7  IE 10 on my PC. Help please.

I have installed IE10 and I am wondering if there is a way to change the color of the scrollbar.  The light grey is so light it's hard to see.  I have tried a few things and searched around and come up with nothing.  I love the preview otherwise and would like to keep it but this one thing might make me use another as I swap back and forth between IE and Comodo Dragon.

Hi

I have installed IEAK 10 on a laptop with IE 10.

Run the IEAK tool and creates a win 7 x64 IE 10 inst. package.

put this package on my USB key.

Put this USB key to my win 2008 R2 server.

Server has no internet connection.

Copy build folder to servers C drive.

Runs the exe file in the FLAT folder of the IEAK inst. package.

The first thing the installer does is to try get some updates from microsoft.

But without internet connection that is not possible :-)

How do I fix that and what updates is it trying to find?

I am using Win 7 IE 10.I am facing this issue - when I log off from one any web account (gmail/hotmail) in one IE tab, it logs off from all other concurrent web account sessions (facebook/linkedin etc) in other tabs also. Does anyone have any solution to it ?

Ok, I’am domain admin and recently, I have created (under Windows Server 2012):

1. User IE 10 GPP (User Configuration > Preferences > Control Panel Settings > Internet Settings (Internet Explorer 10))

2. General IE GPO.

There is small number of Windows 7 SP1 x64 workstations with IE 10 installed, and there I have one big problem: IE 10 opentarget="_blank" links innew window instead of new tab!

In User GPP for IE 10, I have this settings:

No GPO is defined for tab behavior.

That GPP is successfully applied to the (Windows 7 SP1 x64 (with latest windows updates applied)) workstations with IE 10.

But, then the problem starts:

if user IS member local or domain admin group, IE 10 open links with target="_blank" in new tab.

If user IS NOT member of local or domain admin group, every target="_blank" is open in new window. Even CTRL + mouse click open normal links in new window, instead of new tab. Same as if I right click link and select "open in new tab" - new windows again!

I did reset IE settings (Internet Options > Advanced > Reset) couple of times on many workstations, it didnt help.

Running Windows 7 SP1, IE 9.  I have no trouble downloading files, but when I click "Open" the download never opens, regardless of the file type.  I've reporduced this with executables, Word DOC files and Adobe PDF files among others.  I thought the problem might be Norton Antivirus, so I removed it, but the problem still occurred.  I have tried setting IE settings to the default, still no go.  Any ideas?

Is it possible to download and run IE10 32 bit on Win 7 64 bit?

I was using IE 9 32bit  on Win 7 64 bit.  IE10 64 bit was auto installed.

I have all of my bookmarks on the ATT Yahoo toolbar, which does not run on 64bit IE.

I have unistall IE 10 accidentally from my windows 8 pc and i want to reinstall it but i don't know how. I still have the IE desktop version but i lost the app version. Can someone help me, please?

We've restricted/enabled all IE 10 settings through group policy on Server 2012. We also created a package with IEAK for IE10 just to customize the favorites bar with our URLs. We have not disabled users to add/delete links in their favorites/favorites bar in group policy.

The issue is that after installing the IEAK IE10 customized package, we still don't see any URLs in the favorites bar.When group policy is not applied, the favorites bar is populated our URLs. There is something in Group policy that is blocking the URLs from appearing in the favorites bar, however we don't know which of the 50+ settings that we've set are the culprit. Again, users can manually add/delete links in their favorites without problems.

I created the msi package using the IEAK10 but when the install is done, the check box for install new versions automatically is enabled.  How do I disable it for everyone in my company without having them to manually uncheck the box?

Hey,

I'm developing a small plugin checking mechanism for browsers similar to Mozilla's Plugin Check or Qualys' BrowserCheck.  Using javascript, I want to be able to detect the plugins that a used has installed (i.e. Java, Flash, Quicktime, Adobe Reader, etc.) and report the full version numbers for each respective plugin.

I've had success doing this for Chrome and Firefox and moderate success in Internet Explorer, but I haven't been able to develop a method to identify the Adobe Reader version in Internet Explorer.

Here is how I have been approaching the problem:

Good day.

Not a huge issue, but a bit cumbersome.  We run our IE installations with tightly controlled security zones.  When troubleshooting scripting issues for end users, the first question I ask is "which zone displays at the bottom of the IE window".

I am currently testing IE 9 (the actual released version...not the beta, but there's no forum on the released version yet) in our environment before rolling it out to everyone and I have found that while there is still a status bar at the bottom, it no longer displays which zone the currently displayed site falls under.

Is there a way to restore this functionality (I'm sure I'm missing a checkbox somewhere).  This is very useful when troubleshooting and is truly needed in our environment.

Every time I go to a site using Internet Explorer, a box pops up with a yellow bar across the top that asks me about enabling or not enabling something or if I want to speed up my computer by eliminating add-ons.

How can I eliminate this from coming up?  Thanks.

In Internet Explorer 10 the add current tabs to favorites is not fully functional.  I add current tabs to favorites and give it a folder name.  I then check if they all got added but only half are listed.

As anyone come across this problem and have a resolution?

When IE11 is first installed on Windows 7, it comes with old-fashioned F12 tool which allows to change browser modes.

However, if you go to "Tools" menu and select "F12" developers tool, it gets replaced with new developer tools, and "Browser mode" is no longer available.

The only way to bring it back is to uninstall IE11 and reinstall it.

However, as a web developer, I use this tool literally hundreds of times every day. And no, it is not practically possible to keep IE7, 8, 9 and 10 virtual machines open simultaneously.

Is there easier way to switch between browser modes in IE11?

I have ie 10 right now, and I can't resize the address bar. I've seen videos where you scroll to the end of the bar and there's this arrow thing, but that's not the case for me. It used to be smaller and the tabs fit right next to it, but yesterday, I was uninstalling some toolbars that should be unrelated, and when I opened up ie, the tabs were under the address bar.

When I try to install Internet Explorer 10 without internet connection, the installation aborts and leads me to KB2820688. I checked the article, all updates are already installed. When I install IE 10 with internet connection, there are no additional updates installed, just language packs.

How can I install IE 10 offline?

Internet Explorer 10 hangs for me for me when I open up the favorites menu.  The favorites menu will hang for approx. 30 seconds, and then it returns to normal (and subsequent opens work without any issues).  If I open a new tab, same thing.  The tab's favorites hang for 30 seconds, then functions normally.  This only happens when there is a subfolder in the favorites list.  If there is no folder, then there is no problem.

Has anyone seen this or have any suggestions for how to fix it?  Quite frustrating as this is a new machine and I use a lot of favorites nested in subfolders.
