I seem to have an issue with setting the allow active content to run files on my computer in internet explorer. Each time I turn it on reboot the computer the setting is turned off.
This computer is on a domain, but there are no domain policies for internet explorer.
Any idea's why this is turning off each time I reboot?

Recently we had to redirect AppData to our users' home folders, and the main reason was because it was taking anywhere between 10-20 minutes to logon/logoff our users. The slow logon/logoff has been fixed by this GPO change; however, our users started complaining that IE 10 is very sluggish and not as fast as it used to be.
Is there something that I can do to increase IE 10's performance after this change?

P.S. I cannot upgrade to IE 11 since one of our internal apps isn't compatible with it.
I am using IE9 (Win7--64-bit). Why am I being asked to Disable EPM in Internet Explorer? EPM was introduced in IE10 and 11!! I did disable Protection Mode in my settings, but each time I attempted to open a pdf document, the "...Disable EPM in Internet Explorer..." message would surface. Any nuggets of wisdom? I do not want to use IE10 nor IE 11.

IE 10 and 11 freeze after KB2962872 update with the following scenario:
Upload a file to a server, the server responses with a file download (like a simple conversion service).
Result: When the server is sending the file, IE freezes and process iexplore.exe is running with high CPU load.
IE 8 and 9 are not affected. And IE 10 and 11 without the KB2962872 update also work fine.
If IE 11 with KB2962872 is running in InPrivate mode, then it also works. In contrast to that, IE 10 with KB2962872 in InPrivate mode does not work.

Just select any file. After clicking on "Upload", an empty text file "test.txt" should be returned. Instead nothing happens and the browser crashes/freezes.

I was in the process of troubleshooting a browser issue for a user. I went to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced and clicked the RESET button. Now all of his favorites are gone. I was under the impression that the Favorites stayed intact, and according to the info below it should not have been removed. Any ideas what happened?

I have a site with generates word documents for authenticated users.
A user user clicks on a link and downloads a word document using IE11. The document displays correctly, but is read only. When the user clicks on "Enable Edit", the browser trys to download the file again, but doesn't pass the session cookie back to the server. This causes the server to redirect the request to the login page and so the content of the word document is removed and is replaced with the login page.
There is no issue with other browsers.
Any suggests as to how to work round this issue would be appreciated?

After automatic Windows Updates today I am having problems to see correctly many elements in any webpage, this is more notorious in buttons, where I can always see some weird cross.

I have seen lots of posts but no answers.
I have Windows 8 Pro RTM installed from MSDN. I am running IE10 and I go to my Linksys router and get the usual certificate error. In all previous versions of IE, you could just click continue and move forward. IE10 does not all this, please let me know where this setting is so I can use IE10, I hope I am not forced to use Chrome. Also there is no option to run as IE9 for some reason.

I came across lot of discussions and threads running over internet where in .wmv / .wma files won't play on IE 8/9.
Tried and followed many steps , but still the .wma files won't play on internet. Could you please let me know if downgrading WMP to 11 help in this case? Require your response on priority as many users using our application which makes use of IE to play the audio files are affected by this.

When copying and pasting text from one email to another in Outlook 2003 when IE 9 is installed, outlook appears to remove any carriage returns. However when we uninstalled IE9 and rollback to IE8 this problem stops.
Are there any fixes we need to apply to stop IE9 from doing this?

I've enabled IE11 Enterprise Mode and setup an XML-file on a fileshare which I've created using "Enterprise Mode Site List manager".
When I logon with my test-user and launc IE, after aprox 65 seconds I get the HKCU\Software\Microsoft\internet explorer\Main\EnterPriseMode\ CurrentVersion string updated to the current version of my XML-file. I can then browse the sites and verify that Enterprise Mode is enabled for the sites that I have specified in my XML-file
The problems I'm facing is that if I logout my user and then log back on again to the server and start IE and brwose the sites Enterprise Mode is no longer enabled for them. Also if my user has manually specified some sites for enterprise mode this does not live between sessions.
Where in the profile does IE EM store the data over which websites that are supposed to be in entprise mode? I've found under AppData\Local\ EmieSiteList and EmieUserList but theese 2 catalogs only contains "container.dat" which is 0 KB?
Anyone know? Has anyone gotten IE EM to work in RDS?
