We are having issues when users working offsite via VPN the browser proxy settings is on "use automatic configuration script" connecting to cloud proxy. If user connects to office corporate network the browser should switch to "automatic detect settings" on DHCP IP and proxy address. In our case auto switch does not work. The user has to manually switch from "use automatic configuration script" to "automatic detect settings"

  • 11/28/18--07:27: Windows 10/IE 11 future?
  • Hi all.  I'm aware that Edge is the preferred built-in browser in Win 10.  But 3 years after Win 10 release I still see IE 11 kicking around. I know there are ways to remove it or use GP to disable its use, but I'm not looking to do that.  Just curious, is there a plan to remove it permanently from Win 10 builds eventually?  As of build 1809 it's still there.

Also, more importantly, I have to assume so, but is it still receiving security updates?  I realize to keep IE in there, MS is obviously patching it.  But at times an entirely new version of something is needed, which has been redesigned from the ground up (for better security, or what not).  Since IE 11 is still version 11 after all these years, I have to wonder if it isfundamentally flawed at this point.  Or could we say IE 11 is as secure as Edge, if we rule out zero-day exploits for either and Win 10 is fully patched?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

We have a site with invalid certificate.

    On Windows 10, IE11 just returns :

Can’t connect securely to this page

This might be because the site uses outdated or unsafe TLS security settings. If this keeps happening, try contacting the website’s owner.

    On Windows 7, IE11 returns :

"There is a problem with this website's security certificate"

And if you go further, you know that "certificate is invalid" or "adress missmach"

This is a valuable troubleshooting information and I like to find the same information on Windows 10. Is that possible ?

    Kind regards,

    Michel

    Hi,

I have two svg icons, which need to resize to 64x64. They do eventually.

But for a second, when the page loads, the icons appear in their full size. This happens only for a second but the experience is a bit ruined. I'm passing these svg files to an angular components, which has the code to render the html.

Is there any way to show the svg icons at 64x64 even while the page loads.

    Thanks

Again this happens.    Periodically although I have made no changes, IE11 inexplicitly won't allow me to add a trusted site.   the add button and the custom settings buttons are greyed out.   I am an administrator running IE11 as an admin. so that's not it.   We are on a domain but don't have a GPO that addresses this.

This is very frustrating.  It worked last week, doesn't work today.
