shadow effect for shevron shape is not working in IE using filter: drop-shadow
I have a SharePoint page which consist the chevron image div.
Following class has been implemented to create chevron effect and shadow of this shape but it works in Google Chrome not in IE.

Secure connection problem - cannot hit https API
Hi
I'm getting a very frustrating issue with connecting to a secure api - it's at https://api.betdaq.com/v2.0/secure/secureservice.asmx
From my windows 10 machine I can access it fine, and (using Firefox) I can see that it has a security certificate supplied by COMODO CA Limited, and connects over TLS 1.2 with the following cipher suite: TLS_DHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA.
All fine.
I've got an app running on a Server 2016 Datacenter VPS though, which refuses to connect. The VPS providers have assured me that there are no firewall or proxy restrictions, I can telnet fine to the server, but I can't make any headway with understanding what the connection issues are.
Using IE on the 2016 server to hit the api, I get the following response:
This page can’t be displayed
Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 in Advanced settings and try connecting to https://api.betdaq.com again. If this error persists, it is possible that this site uses an unsupported protocol or cipher suite such as RC4 (link for the details), which
is not considered secure. Please contact your site administrator.
(And just to confirm, I don't experience these issues with other secure sites / services).
I've installed Microsoft Message Analyzer and Wireshark to see what's happening, but neither flag up any errors (at least not to my untrained eye). The client hello is sent, but then there are a host of RST ACK messages, and that's it. (Apologies, this is way out of my comfort zone - I'm just following advice from articles I've googled, I'm not at all sure what all the outputs are telling me.)
I've also installed OpenSSL to do some digging, and whilst on my windows 10 machine I get a host of info about the certificate chain, certificate, keys, etc, on the Server 2016 VPS I just get the following:

'Protected Mode' and 'Run As Administrator' in Internet Explorer
I'm trying to understand how these two options work together.
If 'Run As Administrator' is uncheckedon IE shortcut, does Protected Mode in IE Option work or not?
If 'Run As Administrator' is checked on IE shortcut, does Protected Mode in IE Option work or not?
In my assumption, the Enable Protected mode in in IE internet zone only works when IE process is launched with a standard user access token the user uses . If IE process is launched from a administrative user token (run as administrator), will this IE Option still work if it's checked and restrict access to securable objects like system files and registries?

Windows 7 Computer IE11 Browser - html5 audio initial play delayed by about 30 seconds
I have an application for a local community chorus that provides access to a number of mp3 files for practice purposes. The web site uses sql, php, javascript and css. I'm using html5 <audio> commands to play the audio files without plugins.
It works as desired in Google Chrome and Firefox but has a problem in IE11 (Version 11.0.9600.19155). In IE11, there is a delay of approximately 30 seconds during the first attempt to access and play an audio file. The controls appear as desired
but the application just sits there for about 30 seconds before playing the audio file. All subsequent attempts to access any audio file starts immediately. This delay is particularly troublesome for me and problematic for my users. Can anyone
shed light on potential causes?

Microsoft Update Catalog problems
Is anyone else having problems clicking on the browse button after being UAC'd when attempting to download a file from the Catalog?

In addition, even if UAC works, I get a cryptic proxy prompt asking me to enter my credentials to the "proxy-server."
I can't be the only one experience this. This is with Internet Explorer 8.x.

Group Policy "Deny all add-ons unless specifically allowed in the Add-on List" breaks Skype Click-to-Call and other things
Hi everybody,
we are trying to implement a whitelist for IE Add-ons via GPO. So we filled the Add-On list with all the CLSIDs we need.
To improve security we would also like to set the "Deny all add-ons unless specifically allowed in the Add-on List" option to prevent users from installing toolbars or other shady stuff. Unfortunately, this seems to break some things like"Click-to-Call" even tough all corresponding Add-Ons are activated via the whitelist. We also have another web application that generates a PDF file when clicking on a specific button. That also does not work anymore (nothing happens when clicking the button).
Internet Explorer version is 11 with latest patches on Windows 10 1709 (1803 shows the same behavior). Haven't tested other Windows versions yet.

Safety certificate confirmation
Dear everyone who is reading this,
At work we'll be using a new administrationprogram in the future. To use this program I've been importing/installing the certificate which we need to use it. When I go to the website the browser asks me to confirm the usage of the certificate. It does this every single session. Is there a way to confirm this just once so the window won't pop-up again?

Downloaded Internet Explorer, but can't find it on my computer
I downloaded Internet Explorer 11 from the Microsoft page today and the entire download went well. It had me restart my computer after installing but I can't find a link to Internet Explorer anywhere on my computer. It's not listed in the programs in the
control panel and searching for it on my computer does nothing. How do I download IE so that I can find it on my computer?

I've Tried Everything. No Video's On IE-11
I upgraded to IE-11 from IE-8 last week. I don't regularly use IE, but software I use to daytrade with is based on IE. The did a major upgrade and I had to update to IE-11 for their software to work. Everything works fine, except for their CNBC stream. Its an embedded Flash-Player. But its not just this. No videos play at all Youtube, videos on websites... none of them.
Let me start by saying I have tried everything. Flash is current and enabled. Windows is all up to date. The ActiveX filter is off. I have gone through and tried every possible combination of the ActiveX settings and every other setting in IE both under the"advanced" tab and the "programs/manage add ons" settings.
And... when I go to Adobe's test page.... the little animated screen that has a tree growing with clouds floating by works fine. So apparently Flash is working fine, at least on Adobes site. https://forums.adobe.com/external-link.jspa?url=https%3A%2F%2Fhelpx.adobe.com%2Fflash-player.html
But on top of that I have done a "clean flash uninstall" where you run Adobe's on-line cleaner and then go in and manually delete files; followed up with a fresh install. https://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315

SSRS, javasript for popup a window doesn't work in IE, but works in Firefox

How do you enable event logging for Internet Explorer in Windows 10, and how can I verify that it is enabled?
Please see the title - two parts, but this is my only question. I do not need help resetting IE, or troubleshooting IE - I want to enable IE event logging, and I am looking for a step by step guide to doing this. It seems as though I have
it enabled, but the log has zero entries.

If you look, you will see that the log exists in Windows 10, and at least on the machine I am on, the properties say enabled (although that is greyed out and cannot be altered). The way I see it there are a couple of possibilities here:
1) Logging is a relic that doesn't actually work and for whatever reason was never removed from the code tree.
2) Logging is not enabled despite what the properties sheet says.
3) Logging is enabled, but I have no way to verify it because it will not log any events.
Please help me (and a bunch of other poor souls who have asked this question on multiple forums) figure this out.

Proxy pack file not working with Internet Explorer, but works with chrome and firefox
I have finally finished writing a pac file, however, it does not work with Internet Explorer. Chrome and Firefox works fine. I have already cleared the cache, set AutoConfigURL registry key to use the pathway to the pac file, EnableUtoproxyResutCache has been set to 0, and ProxyServer registry key has been set to the correct proxy server.
Also under group policy Management Editor>under user configuration>preferences>control panel setting>internet explorer, I have create internet settings to use the proxy.pac file.
any other option that I need to set it in IE11, for the proxy.pac file to take effect.

Enabling native XMLHTTP support (checked or unchecked)
Hi,
Would like to understand what this IE parameter is used for. Have an application that used to work (with or without) this parameter being enabled, but all of a sudden, it's not working anymore.
Is this linked to provider software like java, etc.… could it be the way the Web application is coded ?
What is the advantage of using or not this feature ?
Trying to find root cause of what could have changed that is causing to fail in IE.
