Microsoft Exchange - Outlook Web Access & Content Advisor
Hello,
We use Content Advisor on all laptop computers deployed within our agency to limit web surfing to approved sites. Microsoft Exchange - OWA will not work properly when Content Advisor is enabled regardless of if the URL is added as an approved site. With Content Advisor enabled the user is able to add their sign in credentials on the login page. However, on the login attempt OWA opens for a split second then returns to a blank login screen. With Content Advisor disabled OWA works fine. If anyone know of a solution please advise.
Thanks
IE 11 uninstall using SCCM 2012
Hi there,
I am trying to create an install package for IE 11 using SCCM 2012. IE uninstalls when I set deployment settings purpose as Available, but not when I set the deployment settings purpose as Required. When I set it as Available I am able to manually uninstall it using Software Center. My goal is to have the setting, set to required so that the uninstall can happen without user interaction.
My batch file has the following:
FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*11.*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /quiet /norestart

hub.video.msn.com Secured Site?
Hello,
I am looking to embed Microsoft help videos on a secured (https) site. When I extract the embed code from this page: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Create-your-first-Word-2013-document-abfe7d91-98e5-422f-9033-6df5f5998b0a?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US , I get this embed link: http://hub.video.msn.com/embed/23232fd2-c4cf-469f-a5b0-7df840b235e3/
However, when I try to embed this link directing to http://hub..., it gets blocked by Chrome and Firefox due to a HTTPS site loading HTTP (non-secured) content. Is there a location where these videos reside that sit on a https site that isn't YouTube? Any help is greatly appreciated!
How can I get the install for Internet Explorer 10 for Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems?
I have a few Windows Server 2008 R2 that still have IE 9 on them; I cannot install IE 11.
IE 10 is not available through Windows Update either on these servers
Enterprise mode available on Tools menu, but isn't being applied to web page
I have an odd problem with Enterprise Mode on a Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Lenovo X1, fully up to date via Windows Update. Browser reports itself as being Version 11.0.10240.16431, Update Versions 11.0.22 (KB3078071).
I've enabled the mode via group policy and the option now appears on the Alt-T Tools menu as expected. However when I click to select it the menu closes as expected but nothing else happens - page isn't re-rendered, no blue icon appears on the address bar. Clicking Tools menu again, there's no check mark next to Enterprise Mode. I've also created a site list and enabled / referenced this through group policy, but this doesn't activate Enterprise Mode for sites on the list either. Checking the registry, all the expected keys and values are present.
If I use F12 tools I can go to the emulation tab and select "Enterprise" from the Browser Mode drop down - now my page is rendered in Enterprise Mode complete with the blue icon.
I've got Enterprise mode working fine on another couple of laptops including use of a sitelist. What could be preventing my browser engaging Enterprise Mode when requested on this machine?

IE11 Group Policy settings relating to external logons
Greetings,
We have implemented around 180 mainly Computer based security "hardening" setting via group policy to all Windows 7 machines running IE11. For the most part this has not affected the user's functionality. I have two isolated issues and I'm trying to work out which setting might be the culprit:
One - A user goes to the website http://www.mssanz.org.au/modsim2015/index.html and enters their login details in the top right. IE just goes blank screen and nothing happens. When I exclude the group policy from her computer account, she can login fine. Which setting(s) might affect external website logins? (Many other external website logins are just fine).
Two - A user goes to http://auth.athensams.net and then the login screen. The login screen gives a warning "Cookies not enabled - please change your browsers security settings to enable cookies". When his computer is removed from the group policy, he does not get this message. You would think this would be an easy setting to find - trouble is, we have NOT disabled cookies as part of our security regime. So what other setting would make an authentication script think that cookies are disabled?
Thanks

SharePoint Opendocuments class addon missing from IE10
One of our users cannot open office documents from our SharePoint 2010 site with Office 2010
The SharePoint Opendocuments class addon does not appear in IE10.
The owssupp.dll is in the correct program path of C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14
There are no other versions of Office installed. This is a new PC build.
Things I have tried to get it to appear after searching the web:
Repaired Office; Upgraded to IE11. Downgraded to IE9 and back to IE10; installed SharePoint designer, installed Office SP2; tried to edit the document in Word from the SharePoint site; Copied the document path and open with Word; tried registering owssup.dll (error occurred); reset IE; delete owssupp.dll and repaired office; uninstalled Office 2010 and install Office 2007.
Nothing works. Is there a way to manually add the SharePoint Opendocuments class?
Enable Integrated Windows Authentication not working
Hi,
We are using intranet environment and Enable Integrated Windows Authentication is enabled for IE browser.
The functionality is working fine for long time. If we give the URL in the browser, we don't need to logon (ie. the logon page does not appear).
But from the last few months, it stopped working for several users. Issue is intermittent.
Could you please suggest what could be the reason and how to solve it.
Thank you in advance.

Debugging IE
Hi,
I have Windows Error Reporting configured to take a full minidump when a program crashes. IE crashes sometimes when I close it, so I check the dump in WinDbg to see if anything interesting is there.
Is there a way to get the url of a webpage that was opened when IE crashed without private symbols? When IE crashes I'd like to see if it's persistent and always happens on the same web page or is it random.
IE11, mailto opens extra tab
Hi, I have an issue with mailto, in IE11, it opens up an extra tab. I was able to close the tab in one version of IE11 but not for all. Any suggestions? I would like to close the tab that mailto open.
JavaScript Function
function MailTo(email) {
window.open('mailto:' + email, '_self');
window.top.close();
}
window.top.close() works on IE v 11.0.9600.1805 but not on v 11.0.9600.18036 (IE on Windows 8.1)
I've also tried window.location.href...still open the unwanted tab.
Thank you.
What will happen to Windows Update after Jan 16, 2016
Sorry if this has been answered before, but I couldn't find it. Since Windows Update leverages Active X and SCCM in turn leverages Windows Updates, am I correct in assuming that after 1/16/26 when pre-IE 11 versions are EOLed, that any system that does not have IE 11 installed will not get ANY updates at all? Not just IE updates, but any updates because of Microsoft Updates reliance on Active X/Internet Explorer. Is that correct?

Windows 8.1 live tile that pulls through from intranet?
Hi,
I have built some live tiles using.. buildmypinnedsite.com/en to build live tiles with news and events from e.g. InvestNI news investni.com/news/index.html
Can this be done with an intranet feed, eg. <meta name=msapplication-notification content="frequency=30;polling-uri=http://ininet/rss/news%20summary.xml&id=1;polling-uri2=http://ininet/rss/news%20summary.xml&id=2;polling-uri3=http://ininet/rss/news%20summary.xml&id=3;polling-uri4=http://ininet/rss/news%20summary.xml&id=4;polling-uri5=http://ininet/rss/news%20summary.xml&id=5; cycle=1"/>
It doesn't pull through and only defaults to the logo specified in the "meta name=msapplication-square70x70logo"
Thanks for your time,
Ollie.

Custom components in IEAK 11 - post-install updates / patches
Hi, I'm trying to deploy IE 11 to our company via System Center 2012 SP1 CU4. I'm attempting to create an .MSI file using the IEAK 11. That's no problem. I can get IE to install using this method. The problem I'm having is when I try to include (add) patches and updates to the installation/.MSI. I'm using the IEAK and am asking them to "install after system restarts" (after IE 11 has been successfully installed). The patch I'm trying to install is KB3087038. I've downloaded the Windows6.1-KB3087038-x64.msu file and have extracted the .cab file from it (You can only select .exe or .cab files for this process.) One of the websites, a Microsoft site, says to insert a command in the "Command:" box to extract the file. The command I insert there is: "expand IE11-Windows6.1-KB3087038-x64.cab -f:* c:\temp" A print-screen is attached below:
When I do this, however, I receive the following error message after IE 11 is installed and the system is rebooted. No files are extracted to the c:\temp folder:
Error: could not locate INF file 'expand IE11-Windows6.1-KB3087038-x64.cab -f:* c:\temp'. So I click OK and the system continues booting into Windows 7. The patch is never applied.
Do any of you have advice for me? Am I using the correct syntax in the Command box? Thank you.
