Setting IE 11 'Internet Options' on all PCs in a Network

Hello Forums,

I work for a small company who has an Enterprise Resource Planning system that runs out of the browser. It requires certain security/browser settings to function properly.

IE has been pushing a lot of updates lately, and each time an update comes, every single instance of IE returns a bunch of the necessary security settings back to factory defaults. That means we have to re-enter the appropriate configuration.

For example, I need to change:

Gear Symbol --> Internet Options --> Security --> Trusted Sites --> Sites (Add a few sites)

Gear Symbol --> Internet Options --> Security --> Trusted Sites --> Custom Level --> (Change twelve settings here)

Gear Symbol --> Internet Options --> Privacy --> Sites --> (Add a few sites)

After some research it seems that ultimately these settings reside in the registry places like:

I've seen a few posts about creating a batch/vb script that sets all the right key's values to the appropriate setting and then somehow running it on every machine...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\(I see Keys with Values, for some not all of the parameters normally in "Trusted Sites --> Custom Level")

What I really need is an automated way to control these settings for all the PCs in the network.

I have also looked into the "Group Policy Editor" run --> gpedit.msc:

Administrative Templates --> Windows Components --> Internet Explorer

How does one go about using a group policy to solve this need?

Really appreciate any input,

Liam
