Compatibility View list (iecompatdata.xml) and europa.eu

I noticed that europa.eu domain is being added in IE's iecompatdata.xml file. I guess this is because people were clicking the Compatibility View button when visiting old sites running under this domain. But this actually means that all sites that run under this domain name run under compatibility view settings. And I can assure you there are hundreds of such sites. Many of them SharePoint 2010 and 2013. I'm particularly interested in SharePoint installations, which are usually not accessible on Internet for direct access, but usually only within local networks or through VPNs.

I'm currently working on a SharePoint 2013 project. Does it make sense to run a SharePoint 2013 site under compatibility view?

I guess I can ask from the administrators of our infrastructure to exclude europa.eu from that list (somehow, not sure exactly but this is not the point). But I wonder what's the deal with this issue in general?
