I have lost the MS Add-ons on MS IE used to render XML so now, opening an XML document (with associated XSLT) does not present the transformed HTML but attempts to download the XML document. This works fine for another user on the same PC but
I have tried various editions of IE without resolution.
When I access "Manage Add-ons", select Show "All Add-ons" and view the "Microsoft Corporation" section I only see three Add-ons as follows.
Research, Message Companion Helper and Windows Live ID Sign-in Helper.
Previously (and what I am trying to restore) there were many more Add-ons including some for XML, XSLT etc.
I started with IE 10 and lost the add-ins as a result of removing some malware. I removed IE 10 and re-installed IE 9 - no joy. Re-installed MS IE 10 - no joy. I am now running MS IE 11 but I still have the issue.
I suspect these Add-ons are not referenced in the IE configuration but located somewhere in the registry but a section that is not managed, but only used, by IE.
