We recently installed a "free" app from what we thought was a reputable download site. Well, the "free" app was bundled with all sorts of crapware. Even though we selected the "Advanced" setup and unchecked all the boxes for installing OTHER software we still ended up with a few unwanted apps being installed . One fo these seems particularly difficult to remove. It's Trovi search home page. All three browsers show this home page (www.trovi.com) even though we have uninstalled the Trovi search bar, Search Protection applet, Optimizer pro app. It didn't change the browser search engine it changed the home page. Even though we rest the home page (and did all the other general stuff to remove tool bars, etc) every time we open a browser we STILL get the Trovi.com home page! (IE 11, Firefox 32 and Chrome). If we hit the HOME button on any of these browsers we get the Google.com home page but ONLY if we hit the HOME button. New tabs display Google.com.
Where are the browsers getting this first home page of Trovi? I haven't found ANYTHING in the registry. Any help is appreciated. We've scanned the registry and drives for any reference to Trovi but cannot find it.
