I'm having a problem in Internet Explorer 11. No matter which website I attempt to visit, I get this message: "Do you want to open or save [such-and-such]?" Whether I click "Open," "Save," "Cancel," or the"x" to remove the message, the option goes white and nothing happens. In no case can I get past the message to the program itself.
I've been using IE 11 for a couple of years; why am I only now constantly seeing the message?
Using Chrome, I wasted a few hours looking for a solution. Mostly I was told that the message is integral to Internet Explorer and cannot be bypassed.
I decided to install a fresh copy of IE 11 but got the message (I paraphrase): "IE 11 cannot be installed because your computer already has a newer version of this program."
I uninstalled IE 11; now IE 10 comes up. But the same message constantly appears ("Do you want to open or save [X]? Open Save Cancel"), and clicking any option only makes the option go white, with nothing else happening.
I simply want to stop seeing the message. I need to get MY work done, rather than try to make IE work.
Thank you in advance for your responses.
