I cant use internet explorer!

Hi!

I just recently updated to windows 8.1 (or whatever the latest one is) and now the internet on my desktop wont work! it comes up with this message:

THIS PAGE CAN'T BE DISPLAYED
make sure the web address (insert site name) is correct
Look for the page with your search engine
Refresh the page in a few minutes

The one on my start screen works but I don't prefer using it :(

Is there a way to fix this? my internet works.
