I don't understand why there is a lack of support for the FileWriter API in Internet Explore. It is a real big show stopper for adopting Internet Explorer. I am working on developing an in browser animation editor and for this I need to be able to create
and store files locally. With the arrival of HTML5 I expect many others to desire the ability to create similar application, which need to store files locally. Storing files in the cloud is great, but unpractical in many situations. Chrome and Opera web browser
both provide this ability. Firefox as well provides similar abilities through FileHandle API. It is encouraging to see that attempts have been take to adopt the this API, but at the same time disappointing to see some browser vendors refusal to adopt a standard.
