I inadvertantly added my password onto the end of my email  address while trying to sign in to hotmail. Now whenever I  start to sign in,as soon as I type the first letter of my email address, I see a drop down list containing an "email address" which is my email address AND my password combined.

how do I clear the drop down list or remove unwanted entries.

Is it possible to have re-direction setup in Internet explorer? When I key Outlook in the address space for URL, I want to be re-directed to Outlook.office365.com . DNS re-direction requires FQDN, I want to use Short word.

Thanks

How do I configure or write PAC file by which users does not have to change proxy options

$

Hey Folks,

may be this might sound basic question pertaining to PAC but at my office I have most of the users are using Laptops and I am currently feeding proxy address manually. This creates a problem when user carries their laptop to home and they will have keep changing the proxy setting.

Again sinc we are growing in future this might not be an feasible as well as correct option hence  I m looking for an PAC file option. But wondering what setting do I need follow so that users does not have change their Proxy or PAC file setting. At office the traffic will be rerouted to office proxy address and at home they will be routed to their local internet.

Is it possible?

Internet Explorer 11 is automaticall sending proxy cached credentials instead of using the basic auth popup

$

Having a lot of issues with the new explorer 11 but the most baffling is this:

Say a user has (against policy) checked the box on the basic auth box allowing IE to remember the password. In previous versions even though this is checked each time the proxy sends the 407 response the box would popup with the information entered. IE 11 is not doing this, it just responds to the 407 with the credentials that were saved and goes on. Now this is a REAL problem if a user with admin access has entered their info for one reason or another and missed the fact that the box was checked. And I can find no way to clear the cached credentials, deleting everything does not help nor no setting I can find including setting HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings DisablePasswordCaching = 1 (which never worked in Windows 7 but still popped up the auth box). The ONLY way I have found to clear the credentials is to have the user change their password so the password fails. As we are saddled with several large vendors requiring the use of IE I need to know how to fix this and keep it from ever happening again. It is the most unacceptable behavior I have ever seen from a company that specializes in unacceptable behavior in their software products

Window8.1 - Internet Explorer 11

When I was on Windows 7 and IE11 and using OWA I was able to download S/mime so I can insert images into the email.  Now with Windows 8.1m I can not download S/mime and does not allow me to insert images into mail.  Now, even when I answer mail that contains embedded images, the images no longer shows up and just gives a reference to the image.

I have tried using solutions from the Microsoft Community and nothing works

Thanks

IE 9 Trap: Can't uninstall, can't upgrade to IE 10 or 11,

$

My main issue is that I cannot install IE 11. IE 9 is somehow blocking the installation of any other version of IE. Through Googling, I've found that this is a common issue but the onlyreal solutions seem to be uninstalling IE 9 or having someone from Microsoft supply files specific to the user/poster's computer that resolves the issue. I tried both offline and regular installers, I tried installing the prerequisites, I even tried going to 10 first which resulted with the same issues as 11 ....any sort of basic trouble shooting has been tried.

I've also tried uninstalling IE 9 in every way possible including....

Going into "View installed updates" in "Programs and Features" to attempt uninstalling the IE9 update which failed with message "An error has occurred. Not all of the updates were successfully uninstalled."

Using the command prompt with administrator privileges ("Run as administrator" in the context menu) to run the FORFILES command - failed with multiple dialogs all showing "0x80070005: Access is denied."

FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*9.*.mum

To throw another wrench into the situation, this is a company-wide issue so even if Microsoft could provide user specific files to resolve the issue on my computer. I still have handfuls of other computers with the same issue.

Hopefully there's another solution out there but any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Internet Explorer 10 cookies and roaming profiles (WebCache directory)

Hi,

I'm having a cookie problem on 2 out of 2 tested environments using Windows Server 2008 R2 (with roaming profiles) and Internet Explorer 10 (IEAK'ed) :S

For instance when I login to www.google.com with my username and password, as long as I'm using my Windows session I'm logged in towww.google.com every time I open the browser (with all iexplore.exe processes closed before). When I logoff my Windows session my (roaming) profile is beeing saved on the fileserver and the locally cached Windows profile is beeing deleted.

When I logon to Windows again (on the same computer) the roaming profile is beeing copied from the fileserver to my client (including the .txt cookies), butwww.google.com isn't logging me in automatically. The same thing happens with other cookies related stuff on websites :S

Also tried WITH and WITHOUT folder redirection for AppData/Cookies/etc, even a newly installed environment with Microsoft defaults is giving me problems.

Anybody out there having the same problem ?

Lock down IE 8 for Internet access

We are working on migrating over to Windows 8.1 but while we are completing this process we need to lock down IE 8 so that it cannot connect to external (Internet sites) but still be able to connect to our internal web servers. I tried setting up a fictitious proxy address and then added our domain name to the exceptions list which worked but some of our in-house apps that use theSystem.Windows.Forms.Webbrowser control will not work. Looking for ideas to lockdown access to external resources for IE 8 only and not impact internal processes.

Java installed but not working

I have a couple of user workstation running IE11 on Windows 7 (64-bit). At some point Java stopped working in IE for them. It still works just fine in Chrome. The Java verify page and other Java-dependent sites all act as if Java is not installed when I

I have uninstalled/reinstalled many times, verified the plug-in is enabled in IE, verified that the Java console security tab shows Java is enabled in the browser and set the security slider to "medium" (lowest setting).  Nothing makes any difference.  I am fresh out of ideas.

Internet Explorer Browser History sucks--Please improve it--Any suggestions in meantime?

Once again, I closed my IE11 at 2am to return at noon to find IE11 crashed again. I am so tired of all these upgrades to find that in the beginning of all of them they crash, like crazy. As a result, I had to close the browser immediately; and, therefore, I lost the ability to go up to that Tool button and scroll down to the "Reopen Last Browsing Session." Thanks, Microsoft, this happens on a regular basis for years where I lose all of my research tabs. I am so pissed that after all these years, not one browser system: Chrome, Firefox, Netscape or IE has made any real strides in improving the ability for someone to return to their browser history and open up their last browser session exactly as it was when it was closed, even if it was not the last time the browser was opened due to a crash or something else unforeseen.

That ability to go up to the upper right corner and click on the star icon is a joke, also. Let's say you closed your browser at 2am and returned at noon, like me, you would think you could go right up to the "Today" history area and see exactly what was closed at 2am. No, that is not true, because many times I have had to go back to the day before section and read through sometimes hundreds of links, especially if I was really involved in some research, to find the ones I had opened when I closed the browser at 2am because, technically, they were opened the day before and IE history registers them under yesterday's day of the week even though the browser was closed under "Today."

Please, please, please Microsoft wake up and get your tech design crew to come up with a better option than what is available to us research junkies, who are tired of sifting through hundreds of links in the browser history to figure out what was open when the browser was closed. Please, please, please. You will be the first because no tech geeks seem to find this an important area to fix, which surprises me to no end. I cannot be the only one that finds this happening to them. Let me know forum geeks what you think about this subject or you know of a program I can install to bypass this horrible IE browser history. Thank you for any suggestions.

Facebook videos play, but foreground is blank white.

In internet explorer 11, running the latest version of flash, Facebook videos will load and play, but the video is replaced with a blank white box. I can hear sound, and when the bottom bar is visible the bottom portion of the video is visible in the background. The flash player settings do come up on the object when right clicking and selecting 'Settings.' While the settings dialogue is up, the video is again visible in the background, faded.

I confirmed that videos play correctly in Google Chrome, but the computer's main user dislikes using other browsers. As far as I could conclude, videos on other sites play correctly.

I searched for solutions to this issue, but I have yet to find it described anywhere near the same, nor has any general solution or quick-fix worked yet.

Things I have tried:
Resetting IE settings
Resetting IE advanced settings
Resetting IE advanced settings and personal data
Disabling Hardware Acceleration
Uninstalling & Reinstalling video drivers
Uninstalling & Reinstalling IE11
Uninstalling & Reinstalling Java
Uninstalling & Reinstalling Flash
Installing Shockwave player seperately
Uninstalling IE11, Java, and Flash, rebooting and cleaning up unused system files and registry errors, then reinstalling everything

None of these seem to have any effect.

IE 10 appending unselectable=on

I am working on a website.

In the UI, a dropdown menu is not working. Using the Dev tools, came to know that IE 10 is somehow appending "unselectable=on" for the <div> which contains the dropdown menu.

The code does not have anywhere unselectable attribute set to "on".

Hence I tried to override using CSS and javascript but no help.

Any suggestions would be helpful

Thanks

Compatibility Mode

Hello,

I am in a business environment in which GPO pushes out changes. I was going to make a change (add a site xyz.com) to compatibility mode in IE11 but there are other terminal servers that use IE9. When I push out these changes will it affect any functions on the TS's that use IE9 because I did not have to add xyz.com in IE9 compatibility. Thank You.

Also does making changes like this affect other versions of IE on the terminal servers?

Thanks for the help.

IE 11 Enterprise Mode and Report Viewer 2008 PRINTING...compatible??

$

We are stuck on IE 9 because we also have Report Viewer 2008 installed to our XenApp servers...

Upon upgrading to IE 10 our intranet reports stopped working and it was traced back to the Report ViewerPRINTING DLLs not being compatible with IE 10...rsprinet.dll etc.

It's a well-known problem and upgrading the intranet server etc. is probably not possible for several centuries from now, sigh...

Would installing IE 11 and using Enterprise Mode for the intranet server site solve this problem??

Thank you, Tom

Enterprise Mode - Reporting URL

$

I am currently Testing Enterprise mode using the following: Windows 7 X64 SP 1 / IE 11 / EMET 4.1

When I enable the URL for reports, I get an error when enabling Enterprise mode for a site.  IE crashes and EMET throws a DEP mitigation error for IEXPLORER.exe.

I have been trying to track this down as without the URL for reporting enabled I have no issues.  It is possible that my configuration for reporting is flawed, I have been trying to locate further information on this logging feature. I cannot find out what is supposed to be on the server side or what I would think is the receiver side of the reports.  The documentation doesn't seem very helpful.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn640690.aspx

Has anyone gotten the reporting to work?  Any documentation?
