Gmail freezes using IE but fine with other browers

0
0

I was the victim of a malware attack today (conduit search). I think I got it mostly removed but it was not allowing certain webpages to be open, getting the display errors such as "cannot display webpage" error for IE and other error messages for firefox and Google Chrome. I finally got all those fixed and removed the Conduit elements from windows. Just when I thought I had it licked I was in IExplorer and about 5 seconds after it opens it freezes and I get the error message "IE has stopped working". it then asks me to try and recover the page but the same cycle repeats itself.

I never had this problem until today so it must be the result of the malware attack itself which may have adjusted some of my computer settings or I changed something during the long process of finding out the original problem and trying to solve it.

Any suggestions?

When I try to watch a PBS show from it's website such as Masterpiece Theater I
get a black box with the message: To view the full experience of this website,
please download and install latest Adobe Flash Player version.

However only latest Adobe Flash Player versionis showing.
After installing the new flash player and restarting my computer I get the same
message!  My wife's computer has no such problem.  We are both using IE 9 via
Comcast.

Very slow initializing internet. once on internet speed is good but constantly dropping connection. troubleshooting says wifi driver corrupted but when I repair or try to replace I am told every thing is up to date. The slow internet started after my wife tried to get on the internet 60 times in about 1 minute with no patience for slow upload(we had 2 notebooks down loading and the TV (netflics) down loading at the same time and same wifi.

Internet Explorer update resulted in losing access to many web sites.

Please advise how to fix or uninstall this update.

Second cannot access internet explorer or other browsers

My wife shares a laptop with my daughter, each having their own user sign on. About 6 months ago we started having issues with IE 9 presenting a lot of errors. This was shortly after removing the free MacAfee program that came with it.  For a quick fix I added Google Chrome for my wife to use (this did not become available to my daughter for some reason).  Still experiencing issues I have deleted the upgrades to IE and reinstalled (now IE11).  This seems to be working fine for my wife, Skype issues are gone also, but my daughter still cannot use IE, it pulls up and says searching for (her home page)but never moves.  I read another forum that had me try to go directly to an IE page but that didn't work either.  I have deleted her user and started a new one for her and have the same issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have two computers, laptop and desktop.  The desktop is Windows 7 and I am using IE 10.  The web page opens and works perfectly.  When I try to open the same web page on my laptop which is also Windows 7 and using IE 10, I receive this message

"This content cannot be displayed in a frame"

I have uninstalled and reinstalled IE 10 on the laptop but it did not help.

Is there a solution to this problem?

Thank you

Disable Automatic Microsoft Website signon in IE10

Like the person here:  http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie10-windows_8/how-can-i-disable-auto-sign-in-for-internet/6501d8bb-543f-4fce-83c4-5c719ddb517f

I would like to figure out a way to disable the automatic sign in when you go to a Microsoft website like Outlook.com within IE10.

The account I am using on my Windows 8 machine for example would be :  username1@outlook.com

But if I want to go to Outlook.com, and check my email for account:  username2@outlook.com, as soon as I connect to the website, it automatically logs me in withusername1@outlook.com.  So I have to log out, and back on as the account I want to use.  Yes I could switch my Windows 8 account over to the 2nd account, but I would be in the same boat if I wanted to check mail for the first username.

Right now to avoid this problem I simply just have to use a browser other than IE, but I would like to see if there is someway to get IE10 not to automatically sign me in under my current Microsoft Account I have on Windows 8.  Resetting IE settings, etc does not help.  This is something Windows 8 does by default with IE10 on every machine.

Internet Explorer 10 won't keep me logged in

I installed Win 8, and I'm using IE10. But when I visit some of my favorite forums and web pages (forum.tauri.hu, prohardver.hu, etc.) and I choose the "Keep me logged in" option, after browser restart, or in mid browsing, I get logged out, and have to re log in. Using another browser, I don't have a problem, but on my laptop only IE can play 720p or 1024p Youtube videos fluently.

I tried resetting, without success. But yahoo.com, live.com can keep me logged in.

Win 7 IE10 "Internet Explorer Branding failed due to the error listed below. The specified procedure could not be found."

Hi All,

I am testing some Windows 7 builds with IE10 installed and when I do a Resultant Set of Policies on them they all have an error in the user section of the GPOs as shown in the image.

To investigate I unlinked all the IE policies from the OU and rebuilt the PCs and wiped the user accounts' roaming profiles (local already wiped with the format of the HDD for the rebuild) but still get the same error even with no IE policies applied. I have looked through RSOP and there are no settings applied either under the maintenance section or under Admin Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer.

Please can someone fill me on how to stop this error from showing?

Thanks

IE 11 Flash Player not Updating

Hello,

I am running several Windows 7 SP1 machines with IE 11 (11.0.9600.16476 Update Version: 11.02). I have noticed that some machines have not updated to the latest version of Flash Player. Is the flash player update mechanism controlled by IE or by Adobe? How would I go about troubleshooting this issue?

Thanks

IE 11 launches OK (Win 8.1 system), but gives "Internet Explorer has stopped working" message when clicking on any/all links.

As best I can recall, this happened after updating an Adobe program - probably Flash, but not sure.  Has anyone else encountered this?  I have not yet tried system restore because I'm not sure that's the answer.  If I roll back to the pre-Adobe update, Adobe will just prompt for the same update again and I could be caught in a revolving door.  Thanks.

SPDY support on web browser control

I am trying to enable SPDY on web browser control (on the machine - Internet Explorer 11/WIN 8.1).

In Internet Explorer advanced settings and in the registry the EnableSPDY3_0 is set to 1.

But in my web browser control the SPDY is not working. Are there other settings that I need to configure?

Cannot lauch Internet Explorer in No Add-ons mode

One of my associates called and said he is having a particular issue in IE9, so I told him I would research it a bit and get back to him. One of the things I was going to suggest he try was IE in No Add-ons mode, but I wanted to see how it launched on my computer and/or a test machine so I could understand what he would be looking at.

The computers are all Windows 7 64bit, IE9, McAfee VSE 8.8, PolicyPak

I click the Start button > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) and nothing happens. Well, not nothing, the little blue wheel spins for a second, then nothing happens. I tried typing Internet Explorer in the search field and selecting Internet Explorer (No Add-ons), but that didn't work. I have tried as a standard user, Run as administrator, logged in as an administrator, nothing works.

No Windows events are logged, nothing triggered in McAfee. Any ideas?

IE 11 Developer Tools not responding on Win7 x64

Just installed IE 11 RTM on my Win7 x64 SP1.

But the Developer Tools (F12) is always not responding.

I tried reinstall and reset in IE advanced options, and no luck.

The Developer Tools is not unusable each time, but always, especially switch to Profiler or Network tab.

I have to uninstall IE11, and reinstall IE10.

Hi,

I have installed Window server 2008 R2. I think the default IE i.e IE8 is upgraded and showing IE10 now.

My application doesn't support IE10, so i need to downgrade IE 10 to IE8.

I have searched in "Installed Updates", but didn't find IE10 under Installed Updates.

Can someone please suggest the steps how to downgrade to IE8.

Unable to load Website which requires a personal certificate IE8 on Windows 7

Hi

I have a user who has been migrated from Windows XP to Windows 7 and is now having an issue with accessing one particular website which unfortunately is critical for their job.

The site requires a personal certificate to work and in Windows XP (IE8) this site is in the Trusted Sites Zone. When you access the site it pops up the certificate verification dialog asking the user to confirm its the correct certificate and when you hit ok, you can access the site.

On the new Windows 7 PC (IE8) the site is also in the trusted site zone and I have ensured that the same security settings for that zone are applied as we use for XP. The user contacted the website vendor who issued a new certificate which I can see successfully in the certificate store. When the user accesses the site, they get the certificate pop up asking to verify the certificate is correct (which it is), then when they hit ok, they get a page could not be displayed error.

I have contacted the website support team and all they have been able to do is verify the certificate is correct and then politely inform me that the problem is at my end which is no help at all :(

I have tried everything I can to ensure the Windows 7 and XP settings are identical yet the site still refuses to load on XP. The vendor is 100% certain the correct certificate is installed and I cannot think of anything else to troubleshoot.

I have even dropped the site into the local intranet zone which is even less restrictive than the trusted site zone and this also didn't help.

Is there some different behavior with IE8 Windows 7 and personal certificates than there is for IE8 on XP SP3?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Jonathan
