IE not loading all images in a page with large no: of images(~ 300+ images)

0
0

I have a webpage which is trying to render more than 300 images, but IE is not rendering all the images. I have detailed the exact scenario below.

I have a aspx page with a asp:Panel. I'm adding new aspx pages to this panel,

Image image = new Image();
StringBuilder url = new StringBuilder();
url.Append(string.Format("ImageDisplay.aspx?Sample={0}", 1));
image.ImageUrl = url.ToString();

HtmlGenericControl div = new HtmlGenericControl("div");
div.Controls.Add(image);
this.pnlImages.Controls.Add(div);

the second aspx page writes the image to the response,

Response.Clear();
Response.BufferOutput = true;

string fileName = "..\\Sample.jpeg";
Bitmap image = new Bitmap(fileName);
image.Save(Response.OutputStream, ImageFormat.Jpeg);

image.Dispose();
Response.Flush();

likewise I'm adding more than 300 images.

IE is not rendering all the images properly, most of the images are getting broken and shows as 'X' sign. While the same page loads perfectly fine in Firefox and Chrome. I'm not able to find the cause of the issue since it only happens in IE. Could someone please help me with this.

Hotmail Account Not Displaying Correctly in IE10

Hi there,

I am having issues with my hotmail account which as of today is not displaying correctly in IE10.  Everything was working correctly up until this morning.

I can't get any emails to load and it looks terrible.  I can't access folders either. I have cleared my cookies, cache, browser history as well as changed to safe mode.  I have tried to acces it in Firefox but the login page does not load, i just get a blank screen.

Thank you for your help

Win 7 Pro updates to Internet Explorer 11 every web page has blank frames and radio buttons. Updates show only IE11.

This entry frame on your page has radio buttons, giving me some editing functions - Bold, Italic, Underline, Insert unordered List, Insert Ordered List, Insert Hyperlink, Remove Hyperlink, Insert HTML, etc... but I cannot see them.  Ever since updating Internet Explorer to ver 11, there is no going back to IE8.  Your Tech forum monitors keep rehashing the same links that do not answer this snafu.  Your Monitors suggest that the web sites are not running because they are not compatible with the newer versions of Internet Explorer - well, even Microsoft's websites?  When you create a new web interface, why would your coding team make it incompatible with your own company's sites?

The Monitors suggest our cards can't handle GPU and we should turn to software rendering.  My card is a GeForce GTX 50 TI and has, according to the manufacturer web site: "Microsoft®  DirectX® 11 Support
DirectX 11 GPU with  Shader Model 5.0 support designed for ultra high performance in the new API’s  key graphics feature, GPU-accelerated tessellation."

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling IE and Microsoft must realize no customer wants to have the technical side string them along with pointless and futile misdirection to a garble of automatic chat responses that offer incomplete and unrelated fixes and then expect to gain points in the voting buttons that "this fixed my problem".

Microsoft: you are ignoring compatibility problems with your coding and pretending it is arises from hardware incompatibility or user stupidity.  Your code should be running seamlessly, should accommodate existing technologies, and be flexible enough to accept limitations of older hardware, older websites, and your monitors should march into Microsoft's development offices and demand answers ---- and fixes.  Has Microsoft gone into hiding when the latest technology show-piece isn't working for the rest of the world?  We do not exist in a research bubble.  We are here in the real world, with aging equipment and tight budgets, and we expect better from Microsoft.

Win7 Internet Exporer 11 black vertical bar

Hello everybody,

I have a Win7 64 bit laptop and IE 11.0.9600.16476, when IE is not maximazed the vertical scroll bar doesn't  anchor to the right but is about a centimeter moved to the left, with a black bar on its right.

Moreover since I installed IE11 Windows is less stable, also showing the blue screen, In most cases this happens while using Visual Studio Web Developer 2010 or 2013 using IE.

This is really frustrating, and I'm thinking about switching to IE10 again.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I did a fresh install of Windows 8.1 and Internet Explorer 11 keeps crashing constantly, even when run without add-ons by running iexplore.exe -extoff. Internet Explorer is basically useless on this machine right now. I have attempted a reset and that did nothing as well.

Here is the event log I keep seeing.

Can't delete favorites from IE 10 - Windows 8

Yesterday out of the blue some old pages from my favorites list reappeared.  I deleted these in the past and now they just showed up.  When I right click on them to delete them or go to organize favorites to delete them, they delete for a few seconds, but then reappear.  I try again and again, but they just keep coming back.  The "favorites bar" in my favorites list does the same thing.  I have also gone to users/profile/favorites to try and delete them and they just come back.

I've run multiple scans with my antivirus software and spybot software, but it didn't fix it.

Anyone know how to fix this or know what the problem could be?  I am not a tech guy, just an average joe, but can get around windows decently.

Thanks for your help.

Who Will Be the First to Tweak IE9 To Restore the Page Title into the Title Bar?

0
0

It's a well-known fact that if you disable the tabbed view (i.e., you prefer to use multiple separate windows for your browser pages) the Page Title from whatever web page you visit doesn't show up anywhere.

How does a blatant omission like this pass a design review?

It's like someone at Microsoft doesn't think titles belong in Title Bars any more.  Who is this person, and do they actually USE a computer?

In a similar vein, Windows Explorer windows no longer put the path in the Title Bar -unless you use one of the fine aftermarket products such as ShellFolderFix or ClassicShell to restore the Title Bar to service.

Has anyone figured out yet what to tweak to put the page title in the Window Title Bar for IE9?

IE won't open Hotmail site sporadically

I have a user at a client site running Windows 7 Pro who is having a problem in IE. About 1/3 of the time when she goes to the Hotmail website, IE 9 won't load the site but displays a blank window except for a message about not being able to load the page.

She says this happens every day, however it mostly does it after she has visited other websites first and then tries to open the Hotmail site. If she opens her browser and immediately goes to Hotmail, then it opens fine (or maybe rarely errors out, I don't recall if she said that or not).

She has never had this happen with any other website and she can go to any other computer in her office and browse other sites and then go to Hotmail and it opens every time. So there is something on her computer that is doing this. I tried running ipconfig /flushdns, emptying her browser cache, and setting IE to empty the cache when exiting. I checked her network settings and they're all good. I even checked her hosts file and there's nothing in it to cause this.

As I said, if she goes to Hotmail first when opening IE it always opens and more times than not she can visit other sites first and still open Hotmail. But at least 1/3 of the time Hotmail won't open if she visits other sites first.

Anyone have any ideas of what else to do? I don't see how any settings in IE could do this since surely a misconfiguration or a wrong security setting would cause Hotmail to not load -all- of the time, not just some times.

Cannot lauch Internet Explorer in No Add-ons mode

One of my associates called and said he is having a particular issue in IE9, so I told him I would research it a bit and get back to him. One of the things I was going to suggest he try was IE in No Add-ons mode, but I wanted to see how it launched on my computer and/or a test machine so I could understand what he would be looking at.

The computers are all Windows 7 64bit, IE9, McAfee VSE 8.8, PolicyPak

I click the Start button > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) and nothing happens. Well, not nothing, the little blue wheel spins for a second, then nothing happens. I tried typing Internet Explorer in the search field and selecting Internet Explorer (No Add-ons), but that didn't work. I have tried as a standard user, Run as administrator, logged in as an administrator, nothing works.

No Windows events are logged, nothing triggered in McAfee. Any ideas?

IE9-IE11 Encoding Authentication Failure (IE8 works)

0
0

I don't really understand what is going on, but we have a website in use at our company that many users need to use. They need to ability to right-click the page in Internet Explorer, go down to encoding, and then change the encoding to a different language (I think Japanese to be exact).

It works fine in IE 8. However, when installing IE9, or 10 and 11, when you change the encoding, the page says: Authentication Failed.

First, I'm not sure why authentication would fail, because why would changing the language need to authenticate? And what would it authenticate to? It's very bizarre.

Can anyone shed some light? It would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Unable to load Website which requires a personal certificate IE8 on Windows 7

Hi

I have a user who has been migrated from Windows XP to Windows 7 and is now having an issue with accessing one particular website which unfortunately is critical for their job.

The site requires a personal certificate to work and in Windows XP (IE8) this site is in the Trusted Sites Zone. When you access the site it pops up the certificate verification dialog asking the user to confirm its the correct certificate and when you hit ok, you can access the site.

On the new Windows 7 PC (IE8) the site is also in the trusted site zone and I have ensured that the same security settings for that zone are applied as we use for XP. The user contacted the website vendor who issued a new certificate which I can see successfully in the certificate store. When the user accesses the site, they get the certificate pop up asking to verify the certificate is correct (which it is), then when they hit ok, they get a page could not be displayed error.

I have contacted the website support team and all they have been able to do is verify the certificate is correct and then politely inform me that the problem is at my end which is no help at all :(

I have tried everything I can to ensure the Windows 7 and XP settings are identical yet the site still refuses to load on XP. The vendor is 100% certain the correct certificate is installed and I cannot think of anything else to troubleshoot.

I have even dropped the site into the local intranet zone which is even less restrictive than the trusted site zone and this also didn't help.

Is there some different behavior with IE8 Windows 7 and personal certificates than there is for IE8 on XP SP3?

Thanks in advance for any help.

IE 8 shows web pages as Local Intranet

0
0

My computer runs Win Xp3 SP3 and IE8.. My issue is that 90% of my web pages when browsing are shown as local Intranet ones and  NOT Internet pages as I would expect. I don't have an Intranet, or so I believe.  One computer,wired to modem to Phone line thats it.

I do have laptops that wirelessly connect to modem but not permanantly nor have I set them up as a network with the main computer. They show all sweb site pages as "internet."

This local intranet ident is alarming me as I am worrying that someone is now able to look over my shoulder and see what I am doing ie shopping on line, paying bills, credit cards etc.

Should I be worried??

Cheers

How to disable "Do you want to open or save..." popup in IE10?

0
0

Our company web application UI invokes creation of an excel file by pressing a button on modal dialog. It creates an excel file and tries to open it by Microsoft Excel. The problem is, IE10 brings "Do you want to open..." yellow popup at the bottom of the screen, and this popup is unavailable, because of modal dialog the excel file creation was launched from. Only when this modal dialog is closed yellow popup became available.

Being not sure if this problem has a resolution without of application redesign, I was thinking about to disable the yellow popup at all. Is it possible? Any ideas?

IE11 - Option to move Address bar/tabs to the top

0
0

Having the address bar at the bottom of the screen provides to be a little clunky when using a tablet.

For instance, when I'm using my surface pro 2 sat down, I mostly rest the tablet just below my stomach, and use my hands to support the top of the device. Now, I'm not the slimmest of guys so naturally my stomach obscures the lowest inch of the screen. Which means when I want to use the address bar, I have to physically lift the device into the air to swipe up and click into the address bar.

I know this doesn't sound like a big deal, but it is really annoying when you are doing it every minute.

Please provide the option to have the address bar and tabs slide down from the Top of the browser.

This way, I don't have to move my hand position to slide up the address bar and I don't have to raise the device so I can physically see the address bar to tap into it.

The above annoyance becomes even more pronounced when using the surface pro 2 in portrait mode as the amount of hand travel to get to the address bar increases.

Also, think for one minute about the natural thumb position and direction when gripping a tablet. Typically the thumbs are pointing upwards towards the top of the screen. This makes swiping down a naturally easier gesture as the thumbs are already in a prone position. in IE11, now think about having to move the grip downwards in order to put the thumb in the right place to swipe upwards to reveal the address bar  - Its a horrible experience. Another reason why having the address bar at the top would benefit tablet users!

Thanks for reading.

IE 9 - DNS prioritisation

0
0

Hi,

Does any know if there have been any alterations in Internet Explorer 9 and the way it resolves DNS queries, specifically DNS prioritisation?

We use DNS prioritisation in our environment to ensure users connect to their local server depending on what subnet they are in. When running Windows 7 with IE8 all http requests resolve correctly and are consistent with ping and nslookup. However when running Windows 7 with IE9 http requests result in inconsistence results and do not match ping and nslookup.

Our DNS servers are running Windows Server 2003 and have Round Robin disabled. Our Windows 7 clients all have the following registry key to ensure DNS prioritisation is used.

I can provide you with further details on our environment but thought it would be worth asking the question in case there is a similar key for IE9 although I have yet to find one after extensive searching online.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters

DWORD = OverrideDefaultAddressSelection

Value data: = 0

Kind regards
