My Internet Explorer is Missing

0
0

After over 20 years on a Mac, I got my first PC, a Gateway, a year ago. Because I liked Firefox so much, I just deleted Internet Explorer. I now have a use for it, but I can't find a way to download it because Microsoft tells me that I already have it. But they're wrong.

I've done every possible search and it really doesn't seem to exist on this computer. I see I do have an option to "get a free update" if I want to download 8.1 (using 8 now) but I don't want to update now.

Any ideas, any suggestions?

Thanks.

Printing from IE10 stopped after has worked for a long time. Update to IE11 didn't help. No output to the spooler. Preview is ok.
If spooler is stopped, no preview is seen. Same problem for all printers, even PDF-printers. Only printdriver that works are XPS documet writer.

i accidentally switched some of my protocol programs and really messed up because now when I try to open Internet Explorer, It goes to vlc media player and flashes off and on! What do I do?

PDF documents not displayed in IE9

Hi

My PDF files are not displayed in IE9 but it displays in IE8. What could be the issue. I browsed and also performed the recommended solutions like,

1. The Edit->preferences->internet->Display PDF in browser Option

2. $wa = Get-SPWebApplication = http://URLofWebApp

   $wa.AllowedInlineDownloadedMimeTypes.Add("application/pdf")

   $wa.Update()

But the issue is still the same.

Thanks.

Hi
I am having an issue  with installing Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 for x64-based systems (article ID 2718695) using SCCM 2012 Software Updates.

The update has been approved, its downloaded and deployed out, but clients fail to install returing the following error:

That error code relates to WU_E_EULA_UNAVAILABLE License terms could not be downloaded.
Well I have checked if the EULA is approved and it is on SCCM

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Internet Explorer display blank page

Hi all,

I have IE10 x64 and Win 7 x64 + SP1, but my IE cannot open any page. I mean, when I type any URL in IE, loads and then display an blank page to me. The title is blank, the page is blank. All the other application that use a embedded explorer control also displays nothing.

  • Click settings icon: The "About Internet Explorer" is gray. Many other menus are gray (such as "Print" and "Save as").
  • Right click on the blank page,  no context menu displayed.
  • Tried to run IE without extension, the issue.
  • disabled GPU rendering won't fix the issue.
  • uninstall then re-install won't fix the issue.
  • run "sfc /scannow", say nothing goes wrong.
  • Google chrome works properly.

UPDATE:

Press alt to call out menu bars, most of the menu items doesn't work, except those in the View menu. (View source doesn't work, either.)

ENVIRONMENT:

IE version: 10.0.9200

Windows 7 (6.1 build 7601 Service Pack 1)

Display Card: nVidia GTS 450

Blank page

UPDATE: Uninstalled IE 10, IE 9 still displaying blank pages. It might be something wrong with the system. Ho can tell me how to fix?

UPDATE2: Do iediagcmd.exe then regsvr32 on some dlls, then re-install IE 10, now menus are recovered, local files can be properly displayed on IE if launched with. But if I start IE then tried to load pages, not working; loading a remote HTML page is still broken.

UPDATE3: IE 11 still not working.

UPDATE4:

A new upgrade install of Windows 7 (with SP1) solves this issue. There might be registry error.

When using IE 10 i cant browse netowrk shares to upload a file

Hi Guys

I have a 2008 R2 server set up as a terminal server, We moved a number of shares from another server across to the terminal

server since the other server is getting retired.

Now users can't browse network shares from within IE when asked to upload data to websites. Like internet banking.

They can access the network shares normally through explorer, and can browse locally to the data within IE. They just can't browse via the network Share in IE, they get the message "access is denied"

In IE settings under security and local intranet, protected mode is off and the share is added to the safe sites list and the "automatically detect intranet network" box is ticked.

This has only become an issue since moving the data to the local server.

Any help with this would be much appreciated

IE10 and greater

Hey,

Have any changes been made to how IE10 and 11 handles Content-Disposition? I have a problem with an ASP.NET application that is giving IE10's download manager the URL in the hyperlink rather than the filename specified in the Content-Disposition header in the app. This has the knock-on effect that the Open and Save As buttons in the Download Manager fail (i.e. do nothing). Can't even cancel out of it!!!

Without re-inventing the wheel, the thread on asp.net Forums is here: http://forums.asp.net/post/5614115.aspx

IE9 and less, and all other non-MS browsers are fine.

In IE-10 browser css is not getting loaded properly.

Thanks in advance,

Does anyone know of a group policy or such that will force IE as the default browser? After a fresh install via SCCM of our task sequence Opera is left as default as it's the last browser to install

Want to disable/"grey out" dial-up connection "settings" button in the "connections" tab of Internet Options

Hi, I'm looking to "grey out" a dial-up connection for some users in workplace, so that they are forced to use our VPN client in order to access the web. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I know you can disable all settings on that tab using local group policy, (e.g. Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer) but I only want to disable a specific dial-up connection (for usb 3G modems).

I've read of various IE settings being locked down in the registry here, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions, but havent seen the settings I want.

The actual connection is visible here, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Connections, I just cant figure out how to grey it out. Any ideas? Thanks!

Help for Internet Explorer 11

Where do I find Help for Internet Explorer 11 ?

I have Windows 7 64-bit and IE11 but I can't find help for that latest browser. In Help and Support, I only find help for Internet Explorer 9

My problem is that since installing IE 11, I am unable to pin pages viewed on the screen to my Favorites; that is the pages that are pinned are different from the pages being viewed.

I've explored all the other fixes listed, but to no avail. Even to the extent of reloading windows.

Firewall = Norton Internet Security 2012

Internet Explorer 11 won't launch on Windows 7

I am running Windows 7 - 64bit Premium edition.

I was having problems with a site loading as the default in the IE browser that was considered suspicious.

The Norton Antivirus agent helped to get rid of that issue, but in the meantime, something happened that messed up the launching of Internet Explorer (wasn't my default browser, so it wasn't an immediate issue).

I uninstalled Internet Explorer 11 and reinstalled, but that did not resolve the issue.

I have tried to run iexplorer.exe from the Command prompt and from the start menu, and I only see a flash on my screen like it is trying to run, but then nothing happens.

Currently, Internet Explorer is installed in Program Files/Internet Explorer.  Should it be installed in the Windows directory?

I looked at all the other similar questions on this topic in this forum, so I know I am not alone.  There were some fairly sophisticated responses, but I admit I didn't understand what was being suggested.  If there is a more novice to intermediate user action I can try, I would appreciate that information.

Internet Explorer 11 slow response on Windows 7 x64 virtual machine

I have a number of virtual machines running Windows 7 64bit on my network.
They are set up on a server running VMWare ESXi 5.1.0. Their users access them from Windows 7 desktops via Remote Desktop.

The overall performance of the Virtual Machines is fine, except when browsing the web using Internet explorer 11. (Firefox and Chrome are better, but not by much).
The user experiences uneven scrolling (looks like low FPS), delayed responses to input, new tabs take 1~2 seconds to open and closing the browser sometimes takes a few seconds after you click the 'X'. Firefox also experiences the uneven scrolling and delay in opening new tabs, Chrome just has the uneven scrolling.

None of these issues occur when viewing the virtual machine through the VMware vSphere console.

This is a fresh install of both the operating system and browsers (installed on 2013-11-22). Everything is up-to-date and all browsers still have their default settings.

Running browser benchmark tests like Peacekeeper (http://peacekeeper.futuremark.com/) shows a notable difference in performance between browsers running natively on a desktop, through the vSphere console and through RDP.

Does anyone know what could be causing this and/or how it could be remedied?

I want to use a local proxy.pac file.

I want to use a file located on each PC in the folder C:\Proxy.pac.

I am not able to make it works with the auto configure url set to #file://c:/proxy.pac# (without both # sign) in Internet Explorer. I do not rely on a web server and use something like http://server.domain.com/proxy.pac.

Thanks for your help.

This is very annoying, I don't get this with firefox.(same add ons)

Happening everytime I want to send a completed form.

After the page restarts it happens all over again.

If you are going to tell me disable add ons, that is a cop out.

Anything I have running should be seamless. Fix your product please.

Hi,

How to I get IE9 to automatically open the .PPTX in Powerpoint 2010 instead of showing the save/open dialogue box?

I have created a key in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\AttachmentExecute\{0002DF01-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} with PowerPoint.SlideShowMacroEnabled.12 set to 0 but this doesn't work.I have added the intranet as a trusted location etc.

Any ideas?

many thanks
