Hello all,

Internet Explorer 11 automatically installed on my computer and now I'm having trouble logging into several sites (notably my online bank site and eBay). I want to go back to IE 10 or even 9 but haven't found a way to do that. So far I've tried:

Turning IE 11 off (since you can't uninstall it)
Tried to install IE 10 but it says it's already installed (the same goes for IE 9)
Tried to find the .exe file for 9 or 10 (since it's still installed) but every iexplore.exe opens IE 11 and no other.
My last resort will be to do a complete computer restore to an earlier date before IE 11 was installed. But I hate to do that.

The error I get on eBay is "If you are seeing this page, your browser settings prevent you for automatically redirecting to a new URL." I can log in fine with Google Chrome but get nowhere with IE 11. I’ve tried to find the settings that prevent a page from redirecting but can find nothing, plus IE 11 is totally different from previous versions so have to figure out where the settings even are.

Can anyone offer any suggestions or tips to help me get back to an earlier version of Internet Explorer? I’m really frustrated with IE all together now and if there is no solution, I’ll just stay with Google Chrome.

I am looking at replacing the Internet Explorer Maintenance policies with Internet Setting group preferences as per microsoft recommendations.

I have open GPO console on a win 8 machine, under user config,\policy\windows settings I am suppose to see internet explorer but I don't, it's just not showing. From win 7 machine I can see the option but you can not create preference for ie 10 on a win 7 machine, thanks you Microsoft yet again!

Any help please as I how get the option available to create internet settings group policy preferences?

Google Maps In IE8

I am developing a html application using Google Maps.

1) Parse coordinates of particular region, say India,from Json

2) Using these coordinates and Google Maps javascript api V3, I draw a polygon as region boundary over map.

Parsing and drawing polygon are working fine over other browsers. But IE8 skips certain coordinates when number of coordinates are large.

We get a pop up saying " A script is running and taking too much time making your browser unresponsive. Would you like to continue?"

Also, map loads slower on IE8 if compared to Chrome, Firefox or Safari.

Query :

1)Can we anyhow avoid this pop up on IE8?

2) Any way to increase rendering speed over IE8?

Hello. I have an install of win 8.1. IE 11 is frequently going into a weird status, and will then not download pictures, or allow file downloads, and doesn't display most web pages correctly. Not sure if it is attempting to go into a high security mode, but some pages will give a "javascript needs enabled" error.

I have found that if I go into IE settings - advanced and do a basic reset, IE will then work normally for a while, until something happens

I have "protected Mode" enabled through group policy, would this be causing this behavior? and how would I best get this corrected.

When I upgraded to IE 10 or IE 11 my window live mail quit working. I upgraded to windows live mail 2012 and it still I can't open my email. I get no error messages just a small black spot in my screen with the blue circle then a message telling me window live mail can't open then I check for a solution and am told one can not be found.

I have installed IE 11 and its cosuming too much memory. It literally hangs and also make other apps slow. I have tried reinstalling , disabling addons, resetting, using software rendering, but doesnt seems to be improving the performance. I tried using IE10 from debugging mode, its fast and fine. So the issue is definitely with IE11. Please assist.

We spent a significant amount of time customizing our current version of IE9 for a major desktop deployment of Windows 7 about a year and a half ago. Is there a way to reuse those settings as a baseline for new versions of IE? It would be a very tedious task to go through all of that again when we have the data.

In Task Manager there are many instances of

"iexplore.exe" running from startup (actually four), while no Internet Explorer window is opened (IE 10).

Even if I close them in Task Manager, they open after some time.any
I scanned sensitive areas of computer for viruses, and run few Microsoft "Fix It" security solutions, but the same again.

Any solution?

When I am trying to post my resume or cover letter on a company's web site using IE11, I cannot see my files stored on my PC in one of my folders. Some but not all folders appear. I don't have this problem when I use Safari.

I'm going to deploy Internet Explorer 10 on my Windows 7 x86 systems running IE9 today.

I've created a custom IE build for internal use. But the build has auto updates enabled when installed. I don't wont the Browser to update itselvf to higher versions - i wan't to control this from my SCCM installation.

I can't figure out how to disable auto updates when i create the build in IEAK - I should use the corporate version of the IEAK.

It's this mark 'Install new versionen automatically' i wan't to be disabled in the build. Users are not able to disable or enable this setting since they are not local administrators.

Can't do anything suggested by everyone for this error because of the error. Cannot change user account type, run any programs to fix it because it won't let me. Can't get into services, account user change, nothing. Downloads will not work from MSN or anywhere else. Can't download MSN fixes, won't download.

It won't even let me in to do a factory restore.

I am facing a strange problem in my environment, all of sudden the IE keeps asking users to logon every page when they access in certain location.

And went on troubleshooting and referring some article, i found that, by enabling Automatic logon with current user name and password, is solving the issue and many says it is not recommended.

My query, why all of sudden it is asking for password each time when i access the page? i dont have any GPOs configured w.r.t IE logon authentications!!

i am not able conclude the cause !! and clueless!! Very strange behavior please help.....

i have tried testing the IE by removing proxy and by removing all gpo to the users and computers, but still no luck :(

I am running Windows 7 and recently appear to have been upgraded to Internet Explorer 11.

A Couple of days ago i was successfully using F5 Firepass (using IE 10). Today i cant use it...

After sorting out Kaspersky - which has started to consoder the logon as needing a secure keyboard entry (never did this before...),

I am getting warnings; (a) that Javascript is not enabled - it looks enabled to me...

(b) I need to install the F5 Browser plugin.

I have downloaded the plugin (NPuroamHost.dll), and the instructions are to 'unpack it into the plugins folder of your browser tree.'

Where on earth is this?

I found another post elsewhere with a similar problem - and the solution was to uninstall Internet Explorer 11. Amazing!

We have a lot of users who on the last update and have seemed to manage to install IE 10 onto their windows 7 machines as now causing all sorts of issues. I know that IEM has been replaced in favour of Group Policy Preferences and I have build a windows 8 machine just to create a group policy preference as you are unable to create the preferences from windows 7, thank you Microsoft!

I have created a test OU and got a win 7 and a win 8 machine both with IE 10 for testing. I have created the preference settings, home page etc and disabled using the F keys the advanced features that we do not require as from reading in other post even if it is not ticked, if it is green then it will apply it, kinda defeats the using the tick but it is what it is!

When we do a gpupdate it picks up the default homepage as well as other settings but the proxy settings is blank. I then went back into the preferences I created for IE 10 and checked the connections, LAN settings and the proxy server name is missing but both ticks are showing for the proxy settings and when you click on advanced it shows the proxy server and port details fine. I have been working on this now for 4 days and getting no where to a point were we just roll back any users on IE 10 back to IE 9.

I have also unlinked any other gpo relating to Internet settings on the test OU just in case there are conflicts. Any ideas as where to go from here?

I'm having website display issues with IE 11 on Windows 8.1 64-bit, ironically with Microsoft.com, Bing Search and TechNet forums amongst others. The IE 11 version is: 11.09600.16384.

Microsoft.com looks as follows:

If I reset IE settings then everything is OK until the next GPO sync on the client, at which point the sites are all broken again.

Using the IEZoneAnalyzer tool I have sync'd Group Policy, then reset (IE settings > Advanced > Reset) and compared the differences - GPO defined/pushed settings under 'GPO', defaults (following reset) under 'Reset':

I've tried changing the settings that are different to no avail... any ideas?
