IEAK 10 and Homepage

0
0

Hello,
here is one question regarding IEAK 10 and setting Homepage.

Description: W7, IE8 branding runs and set homepage to http://www.hello.com few years ago. Now would like to install IE10 with branding and set "Retain previous Home Page (Upgrade)". And set homepage again to http://www.hello.com.

But what I am recieving is two tabs with the same homepage. So the problems is the homepage is set to www.hello.com but it doesnot check if this homepages was set before. So now there are two exactly the same homepages opened on two tabs.

Question: Is there some workaround to prevent having the same homepage opened twice?

thank you.

IE 10 won't work after being downgraded

Hi,

I'm using windows 7 32 bit system, recently I'm trying to downgrade my IE 10 to IE 9 or 8.

Cause i can't find the upgrade feature in the Control Panel, I followed the instruction I found online, running the following command twice:

FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-10.*.mum /c“cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /norestart”

But after that, my  IE quick launch doesn't work, even when i go to "program files--internet explorer " and double click the icon, nothing happened.

I tried to download a new IE 10 install.exe from Microsoft support homepage, but nothing happened when i run it.

Could any buddy help me ? to repair the IE 10 or install a new one. Thanks a lot.

Issue while Exporting Grid data to Excel (ASP) in IE

Hi,
   I am trying to export Grid data to excel in Asp. When we try to download any files or samples from browser for number of times, it will download it as sample(1),sample(2)... It will automatically numbers the files when it is already downloaded. I want to achieve the same scenario during my excel export.    Following is the code snippet used :
    Response.Clear();
             Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "attachment; filename=" + fileName);
             Response.ContentType = "application/ms-excel";
             System.IO.StringWriter stringWrite = new System.IO.StringWriter();
             System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter htmlWrite = new HtmlTextWriter(stringWrite);
             string table = txtValue.Text;
             Response.Write(table);

  When I run the Application in Chrome or fireFox it downloads like what I mentioned above. But if I run the App in IE 10. This is not downloading like Google or FireFox. Will I open the first Download , and then I try to open the Second Download it pops"The document with the same name already open , ...."
I am not able to figure it out why this arrives in IE ,Please help me to solve this.

Thanks,
Parameswari

IE8/9 says every file "contained a file and was deleted"

I have multiple computers on my domain that will not download files or attachments in IE8 and 9.  It says "<filename> contained a virus and was deleted".  Everything will download fine in Chrome and Firefox and these files do not contain viruses - it happens on every file I try to download, or every attachment in all emails.

Is there a setting in IE that is causing this - it is happening on about 30 computers out of 100 in our domain - all with the same group policy settings for IE.

We are clueless and frustrated to figure this out and ready to just roll out Chrome to everybody to fix the problem.  Any help would be appreciated.

I use Windows 7 64 bits and Internet Explorer 9 . Is there any workaround for this problem ?

This is critical issue for us now and need solution or workaround asap.

IE 9 does not open downloads

Running Windows 7 SP1, IE 9.  I have no trouble downloading files, but when I click "Open" the download never opens, regardless of the file type.  I've reporduced this with executables, Word DOC files and Adobe PDF files among others.  I thought the problem might be Norton Antivirus, so I removed it, but the problem still occurred.  I have tried setting IE settings to the default, still no go.  Any ideas?

IE8 drag and drop in Outlook Web App OWA is not working

I'm having trouble identifying the cause behind an inability to drag and drop emails between folders in OWA (Exchange 2010).

The problem PC is running fully up to date 32 bit Windows XP SP3 with IE8. When I try to drag and drop an email all I see is a black stop symbol. On another PC with the same spec, logged in with the same user account, I can drag and drop emails fine between folders in OWA.

I've tried clearing browser cache/history etc, resetting the browser to factory defaults, re-installing the browser, reducing security in the browser to absolute minimum, re-installing Java, Silverlight, S/MIME (although I'm sure it doesn't use these).

Can anyone suggest anything else, or provide helpful links? I've been looking at this for many hours without any progress. If I even just knew what component/tool/feature IE is using when it does/doesn't drag and drop I'd have somewhere to start...

TIA.

IE10 Bug w/ Windows 8 and capturing Mouse Coordinates

I'm testing on Windows 8 with IE 10 (version 10.0.9200.16599)

So, I have an web application that contains an Asp:Image on a web page.  When that page loads, in Javascript, we capture the MOUSEMOVE and DBCLICK events.   On the MouseMove, the EventArgument (e).X and e.Y appear to have invalid coordinates.  The upper Left should be 0,0, but it starts out at -230 and -140 respectively.

I've seen a similar forum where the original version had a bug and some microsoft updates addressed the issue, but it hasn't seemed to address the issue in my scenario.

If the webpage is loaded by itself, then the behavior seems to work just fine.

But, that page is loaded in an IFRAME and made part of a larger page.  The events on the "IFRAME Page" seem to function just fine, however, when capturing the X and Y coordinates of the MOUSE MOVE event, they appear to be incorrect.

Cannot load Active-X components.

I have a brand new computer -- fresh install of Windows 7 x64 with SP1 and all available OS updates.  When I get to a website that needs to load an Active-x component, I get an error saying that it failed to find the website to load the component.  I have checked all the security settings on my IE9 installation and all pertinant settings to allow (enable or prompt) active-x components are set correctly.  I have compared the settings to a similar computer that is working correctly for loading active-x components.

I'm stuck.  I've triple checked everything without success in finding any differences between the two computers.  I'm begining to think it has something to do with another piece of software, but don't have any idea where to start looking.  The new computer has virtually no software and only has the basic extra add-ons like java, Adobe reader, and Adobe flash, but these are the same on the computer that works correctly.

Any thoughts on what could be preventing axtive-x components from loading on the new computer?

Can't download anything

0

Hello, I am running a fresh install of Windows Server 2012 which comes with I.E. 10.

I cannot download anything.  I am trying to download Dell drivers but I can't.

I even tried adding *.dell.com to the trusted sites... no dice.

I see a Security Bar quickly pop up and then just as quickly disappear on the bottom of my screen.  I am unable to interact with the security bar, which I suspect would give me an option to allow the download to proceed.

It doesn't matter if I try to download the Dell Download Manager or the file directly.  I get the same results.

I looked around the security settings and also the options but nothing helps.

Can you help?

Starting DOM for image URLs are expressed with an HTML embed element instead of an HTML img element.

0

Hi,

I noticed a behavior quirk today with Internet Explorer 10--

  • When IE navigates to an image URL, the DOM created in memory contains a single HTML img element.
  • When IE navigates to an image URL using the address bar, alt-enter keyboard shortcut, the DOM created in memory contains a single HTML embed element.

What accounts for this discrepancy?

Sincerely,

Anon

Internet Explorer 10 isn't redirecting Favorites (Group Policy)

0
0

I have a farm of computers, both XP and 7, that are being controlled through the following Group Policy:

User Config > Policies > Windows Settings > Folder Redirection > Favorites

The Path I am using is the UNC Path: \\Servername\dir\%USERNAME%\Favorites

The favorites are redirected correctly on XP computers and Windows 7 computers running IE9 and below. However, the main problem is with computers running IE10. IE10 isn't pulling the favorites from the home drive, it instead uses the Local Disc's favorites.

If anyone has any advice or ideas, let me know.

Thanks,
