My IE does not delete browsing history.

When I select Delete everything, including passwords, I do not get logged out of any webpages I have been using before the deletion of all browsing history, in including passwords.

The Facebook page of my favorite band has some photos grayed out, some posts missing.

Thank in in advance for any ideas?

Impact on applications due to Silverlight support cessation

As Silverlight support ceases on October 2021. I would like to know what would be the impact to applications using Silverlight.

• Will the applications continue to work post the Silverlight support cessation date or it will completely stop working?
• Any existing Silverlight functionalities wont work or everything will continue to work as is?
• Will custom codes written using Silverlight APIs work as is or needs to be rewritten?

Windows 10 SAC Proxy Issues

0
0

Hi, we have been having a lot of different issues with our Windows 10 SAC machines (Version 1809 or 1803 at least) that i think are related to proxy auto config or pac (web hosted pac file by the way). The issue doesn't happen on LTSB 2016.

The issue is that when our 1809 or 1803 (maybe some older versions too but not sure) laptops are connected to our VPN, all sorts of strange things happen. The start menu starts being unresponsive, IE locks up with a white screen (no activity or toolbar icons), single-sign-on to our home page (cloud based) doesn't work and prompts for credentials as if we were off network, The Wifi icon in the system tray has a yellow bang that indicates no internet access.

I am able to solve all of these issues by simply stopping our forcepoint (aka websense) agent on the laptop. if i do that everything starts working again. I know this is not a forum for forcepoint but nobody has been any help on this so i am a little desperate for any help at all.

The issue doesn't happen all the time. but i can usually reproduce it after unplugging the network cable and switching to wifi, then connecting to our VPN.

Again, this doesn't happen on LTSB 2016 (which is version 1609). so my thinking is that maybe there was a pac file schema change in newer versions of windows 10 and our existing pac file is maybe not compatible.

Any help at all is appreciated.

IE hits error when SSRS renders over 80,000 links in the document map section.

Hi All,

We have a SSRS rerport (created in VS 2015), which displays document map and content. The content has about 100,000 rows of data, while there are over 80,000 records to be rendered in the document map section.

When bring up the report by using the Internet Explorer Version 11, it hits below error when traced by using F12:

  • "Not enough storage is available to complete this operation" at ScriptResource.axd line "updatePanelElement.innerHTML=rendering"

Based on the information in the executionlog2, it shows that both the rendering and GetDocumentMap process have been completed successfully. But, IE still hitting the above error. In contrast, accessing the exact same report by using Edge browser has no problem at all!

It appears that this issue is only occuring to IE. We have set the IE cache to 10mb or higher as per suggestion found from the Internet, it doesn’t help.

Has anyone encountered this issue before and what is your solution to it?

How to configure authentication for different browsers to enable transparent and secure authentication on web servers without prompt

0

Currently experiencing issues with configuring browsers to enable transparent and secure authentication on web servers without prompt. Working in a Windows 10 Pro environment and IE 11.

Turns out Mozilla is working just fine after editing network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris with our SSO URL (sso.domain.com), but still can't make it work with IE and Chrome despite taking these steps:

  • Adding the SSO URL to the Intranet zone
  • Automatic logon in Intranet zone
  • Enabling Enable Integrated Windows Authentication in Advanced settings Additionally I've enable via GPO "Allow updates to status bar via script"

Yet IE keeps prompting for credentials, and seems to be treating our SSO URL as inside the Internet zone.

SupportedUserAgents:

MSAuthHost/1.0/In-Domain MSIE 6.0 MSIE 7.0 MSIE 8.0 MSIE 9.0 MSIE 10.0 MSIE 11.0 MSIPC Windows Rights Management Client Mozilla/5.0 Edge/12 Chrome

Our IIS authentication is configured as such:

Anonymous Authentication is enabled with the IUSR

Enable Windows Authentication. In the the "Providers" NTLM is first.

Under Advanced Settings the Extended Protection is "Accept" and Enable Kernel-mode authentication is CHECKED.

Is there something I am missing?

Thanks,

Using three different computers 1 Win 7, 2 Win 10 and one android phone.

On the Windows 7 machine I cannot reach one web site (SanduskyRotaryPizzaChallenge.com), I get 503 server unavailable. All other web sites work fine on the Win 7 machine. Using Chrome, IE and Edge.

On the Win 10 and Android the web site works fine.

Only the one web site on only the one computer does it not work.

I can using FileZilla I can FTP into the site, on ALL computers.

So what should I be looking at on the Win 7 machine? Remember all other sites work fine.

Windows 10 Pro 64bit 1809 IE11 Crashing

My organization has experienced a significant increase in browser crashing issues.  The problems started within the last 30 days.  Disabling the plug-ins had no impact on the issues.  Has anyone else noticed a significant increase in IE11 crashing within the last 30 days?

Thanks

Choose certificate box appears behind IE window on Windows 10

Hi! We've had his issue since the beginning of our Windows 10 migration spanning over five or six Windows 10 builds. Some of our web pages requires to select a certificate on our smart cards but the "Choose a digital certificate" popup window has since the beginning of Windows 10 appeared behind the IE11 window. This is confusing for the users and I suspect it's a bug.

Anyone have any more info on the issue? Currently we're on 1803 and are running the latest patches.

IE Scripting Engine Vulnerability Updates for CVE-2018-8653

I have a question about the updates Microsoft released on 19th December for this vulnerability.  For the most part, they mostly apply to IE11 on various Windows versions, with the exception of a few IE9 and IE10 updates for select Windows Server versions.  Are there definitely no workstation Windows updates for IE9 and IE10 ? Note I've checked here and it looks like the answer's no, but I just want to be sure.  Also, does anyone know if IE9 and IE10 on workstations are definitely vulnerable to this exploit ?  I suspect the answer's probably yes and Microsoft have only excluded them from the updates as they're no longer supported, but I just want to be sure about this too.

Note that if you're thinking about replying by saying that no-one should be using IE9 or IE10, please don't as I'm already fully aware of this fact.  I have no control over what users have - I'm just responsible for deploying available patches via SCCM.

Your help will be greatly appreciated...

Secondary Start Pages only work when pressing the "Home" button, not on IE Startup

0

I am trying to setup IE11 via group policy and have configured a start page and a Secondary home page.

However when IE11 is loaded, only the first home page tab appears, if I then click on the "Home" button in Internet Explorer, the Secondary page tab then appears.

How can I get both tabs to appear when IE starts?

I thought it might be the "Open only the first home page when Internet Explorer starts" option under Settings/Tabs that was causing the issue, but it's unchecked...

Does anyone know what else could be causing this?

Rich

Windows 10 proxy setting via GPO

0
0

I have the case:

I'd like to overwrite proxy settings set up via GPO in site policy - 1. User Configuration\Preferences\Control Panel Setting\Internet Settings -> Connections -> LAN settings,

using:

2. User Configuration\Preferences\Windows Settings\Registry -> HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings -> AutoConfigURL = proxy server address.pac

It seems to me, this is the same registry which areapplied in point no.1, but finally it does not working and proxy addresswas not changed.

I have suspection, that the same settings provided by GPO cannot be overwritten by GPP settings?

IE11 behaves differently behind a proxy

0

www.surveymonkey.com

we found out that IE behaves differently or rather unexpectedly when behind a proxy server.

without a proxy, IE would display the site's eye candy and all fine. once i place IE behind a proxy, the site looks horrible.

tested on other browsers like Chrome and Firefox, even behind a proxy this browsers display the site exactly the same when viewed without a proxy.

so it's not the proxy's problem then.

why is IE doing that (even after resetting IE) and how to fix this?
