Using IE11 Windows 7 on a desktop and since the last updates most (not all) sites will allow me to type in my user name butnot the password. When I hit the keys nothing appears in the password panel. Any ideas please?

Can I use IEAK 11 to customise IE8 ,9 ,10 and 11?

in our environment due to various compatibility issues and age of operating systems, we have Internet Explorer from 8 to 11. is it possible to use IEAK 11 to customise previous browsers? if not, this will require 4 different machines to use for customising the browser, that to me seems a lot of hard work.

thanks

Steve

Footnote causes text to overlap when saved as html

I added a footnote to my document, it looks ok in words.

But after i saved it as HTML and view it in IE9, the line of text that has the footnote overlaps with the next line of text.

Has anyone encountered this before?

IE11 and Excel Web Apps - slow and unusable

0
0

Is anyone else having problems with IE11 and the Excel Web App? For example, opening a spreadsheet in SharePoint in IE11 and trying to select cells and move between cells takes a long time compared to IE10/Chrome/Firefox which are near enough instantaneous.

We've tried turning off GPU rendering, which made no difference. We've tried compatibility view, again, no difference.

We really need a fix to this as we're reliant on IE for other things and can't actually switch to another browser just as a workaround.

IE11 in Windows 8.1 changes scale when moving window between screens

Hi,

I'm using Windows 8.1 with IE11 on a Dell Latitude E6510 with an external LG screen. I use both screens in my daily work and when I move a IE11 window from the internal screen in my laptop to the external LG screen, the scaling in IE11 changes and gets smaller. It happens when the windows is halfway over to the external screen. On the way back it changes again and gets bigger. I've use the "One scaling for all my screens" in the Control Panel|Display applet without success. It's only IE11 that has this behaviour, no other programs does this.

Unable to view SSL certificate in IE11

Hi,

I'm feeling really dumb but I can't figure out how to view the details of an SSL certificate in IE11.

On previous version of IE you would simply click on the padlock that appears in the address bar and then select view certificate. On IE11 the padlock does not appear. The particular problem I'm having is that I'm trying to diagnose why Windows 8.1 with IE11 is rejecting a perfectly valid cert. All I get is a screen telling me that there is a problem with the certificate (it says that the cert is revoked) but no details and I can't figure out how to view the details.

Every web page keeps asking me what I want to do with .htm ? Save as? Open Internet Explorer 11

when I open any website on Internet Explorer 11 I get a pop up asking me if I want to save the file or open it? If I click open then a privacy box appears.

This is probably one of the most annoying issues I've seen so far..  Is there a fix for this?

IE7,8 closes inmediately.

I've read a lot of posts from other people before post. I tried all methods without solution.

machine is an 2003 server.

1) The first thing, I  scanned with Malwarebytes, and Adaware without none detection.

2) Trying to open it without addons, closes aswell

3) Reboot, Deinstall IE8 and install IE7, but the same issue.

4) After that apply the Wupdates and update to IE8 again, but the same issue.

5) Firefox and chrome works perfectly

6) I tryed to re-register a new "ieproxy.dll"

7) I fixed proxy settings with the fix.bat:

@ECHO OFF
Reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyEnable /f
proxycfg -d

What can I do more?

Memory with IE11

I am running Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7 and seem to have a memory issue.  I dont think this is new, I had memory issues on IE10 as well (I was hoping 11 would fix it).  I have 9 windows open with varying number of tabs for a total of 12 running web pages.  When i try to open another window, the title bar and address bar are gone and the window looks incomplete.  If i close down an instance I can then open a new window.  When I open Task Manager, i see 2 iexplore.exe (25mb and 56mb mem use) and 6 iexplorer.exe*32 with mem usage ranging from 158mb to 435mb!

My laptop has 8gb ram and 3.2gb free.  So 1) why does IE use so much bloody memory still and 2)why cant i open another window when i have so much free ram?

Thank you

Setting IE 11 'Internet Options' on all PCs in a Network

Hello Forums,

I work for a small company who has an Enterprise Resource Planning system that runs out of the browser. It requires certain security/browser settings to function properly.

IE has been pushing a lot of updates lately, and each time an update comes, every single instance of IE returns a bunch of the necessary security settings back to factory defaults. That means we have to re-enter the appropriate configuration.

For example, I need to change:

Gear Symbol --> Internet Options --> Security --> Trusted Sites --> Sites (Add a few sites)

Gear Symbol --> Internet Options --> Security --> Trusted Sites --> Custom Level --> (Change twelve settings here)

Gear Symbol --> Internet Options --> Privacy --> Sites --> (Add a few sites)

After some research it seems that ultimately these settings reside in the registry places like:

I've seen a few posts about creating a batch/vb script that sets all the right key's values to the appropriate setting and then somehow running it on every machine...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\(I see Keys with Values, for some not all of the parameters normally in "Trusted Sites --> Custom Level")

What I really need is an automated way to control these settings for all the PCs in the network.

I have also looked into the "Group Policy Editor" run --> gpedit.msc:

Administrative Templates --> Windows Components --> Internet Explorer

How does one go about using a group policy to solve this need?

Really appreciate any input,

Liam

Opening PDF in client incorrectly adds to browser history

When I click on PDFs, they open in an Adobe window.  However, I have to click the back button as many times as I have opened PDF’s.  Is there a way to open the PDFs in the client but not have the containing folder written to the back history?

Https sites slow to load for IE in Server 2008 R2

Hello All,
I have an issue with our new server where https sites are slow to load or do not load at all in IE 9 or Google Chrome. Using Firefox any page loads fine. I have tested many things, reinstalled IE, downgraded to IE8, upgraded to IE10, checked the forums, tested SSL settings and still get the same issue.
For example if I open IE, navigate to google.com I will get a "waiting for google.com" that will sometimes take 5 minutes to load; the same behavior is noticed on Google Chrome but not Firefox. I did notice that if I installed google.com SSL certificate that the page would load normally. I have tested the same method on another Server 2008 R2 box with no issues. I am not sure what the issue could be. Any ideas or direction would be greatly appreciated since this issue is directly affecting business operations for my client.
Thank you!

I am gathering historical photos of USN ships that I served on for an service album I am assembling.

The source photos I find are fine! But I would like to eliminate the bottom of page file-string printing stuff appearing  on my finished photo sheets. How can I prevent/remove that before photo paper printouts?

On startup of IE 10 or 11 cursor continually flashes with accompanying circle icon and takes over all machine resources

Since the last week in November, evertime I start up IE, I get a flashing cursor with rotating blue circle.  If I let it continue for a while - the whole machine becomes un-reponsive.  I tried going back to IE 10 from IE 11 and that did not solve the problem.  Any thoughts?

Blank Page

I just installed IE 10 on my Dell 8300 desktop with Windows 7 Home Premium and get blank page when I hit any of the icons. My Windows Update history states the software was installed correctly. I called Dell North American support and they said to wait two weeks and do a reinstall if i was using Firefox. What is the best solution?

IE 11 Developer Tools not responding on Win7 x64

Just installed IE 11 RTM on my Win7 x64 SP1.

But the Developer Tools (F12) is always not responding.

I tried reinstall and reset in IE advanced options, and no luck.

The Developer Tools is not unusable each time, but always, especially switch to Profiler or Network tab.

I have to uninstall IE11, and reinstall IE10.

Sharepoint online 2013, login.js javascript errors when opening documents

Hi,

We're using sharepoint 2013 online in a corporate environment with internet explorer 8.

In general things are working OK; however every time when a user tries to open a document following login box and javascript error appear (both excel and word show same behaviour).

Note that the users are already signed in on the sharepoint site when this error appears (they just click on edit document). Clicking the javascript error away does unfortunately always result in the document opening. Any help would be appreciated!

Proxy Authentication - Internet Explorer 11

Hi,

I'm having a problem with internet explorer. I cannot seem to connect to the proxy I'm using. This doesn't happen neither in Chrome or Firefox. The authentication window also doesn't appear.

Is it possible that my computer has a policy that doesn't allow it to connect to it?

Outlook also cannot connect.

Thank you
