Video picture chopped off when scrolling

Hi. I try to put a video (youtube) on a page in SharePoint 2013 or SharePoint Online. It works fine. However, when I use the scrollbar to scroll down the page, the image from the video breaks. This is only a problem when I use IE 8. Can anyone tell me how I can avoid this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Kim

Note: I use the same code on a page in SharePoint 2007 and it is ok when using IE 8.

ie9 suddenly will not display iframe on sites

Hi,

I have Vista Home Premium SP2 32 bit, and have been running IE9 for some time without issues.

In the last couple of days however, sites using iframe for video clips just display a blank space where the clip should be, with no error message, or any sign that there should be an iframe there.

I have followed all the steps on various posts to resolve. A file scan came up that some corrupt files could not be fixed, but I am not techy enough to decipher the details on notepad.

I uninstalled IE9 and IE8 displayed the iframes and clips perfectly. I then installed IE9 again afresh but still it will not display iframes.

I have not installed anything other than this months Windows updates and so don't understand what could have changed IE9 to cause this.

Please help or am I better off changing to a different browser ?

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
  • 4 GB Ram

We were having issue with IE9 on this server so we uninstalled it with the intention of reinstalling it.  When we reinstall it we get the following error:

Neutral MSU installation failed (exit code = 0x00003715 (14101))

I have tried:

  1. disabling and relabeling IE8
  2. System Update Readiness Tool
  3. Running the stand alone installer with and without the network connected and in safe mode
  4. Ran Microsoft Fix.It
  5. Deleted the local package C:\Windows\TEMP\IE928D4.tmp\
  6. Ran the following command: FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*9.*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstallingpackage@fname&&start /wpkgmgr /up:@fname /norestart"
  7. Stopped "Windows Update Service and deleted the contents of C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and restarted the "Windows Update Service"

IE9 does not work when opened through PureVPN software

Installed PureVPN virtual private network software on my home PC, running Windows 7 Ultimate, and have tried to access the internet by opening Internet Explorer 9 through PureVPN - it just hangs up and will not proceed beyond partially opening up my IE9 login page.   Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox do not have any problems when opened through this PureVPN software.  PureVPN Tech Support says it is a Microsoft IE9 issue, not a PureVPN issue.   Any ideas for solutions?   Is it a matter of IE9 settings?    Thank you.

Internet Explorer 11 Inline search and launch spawns multiple instances

I recently installed Internet Explorer 11 on my newly installed, fully patched Windows 7 x64 system.  Now, every time I try to enter an inline search or try to launch a website, it keeps re-loading in an endless loop and never loads the webpage. The cursor remains busy for any entry. When try to close, it respawns multiple times,  but never in seperate Windows.  Have to use task manager.   This effects both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of IE11. Reset Explorer settings, disabled all add-ons with same results.  Thought it might be a rogue BHO or malware, so scanned with AVG and MSSE, finding nothing.  Repaired registry, same results.  I had a similar problem with IE10 on a previous Win7 x64 installation, never resolved.  Any ideas? I'm stumped.

Internet Explorer 11 slow response on Windows 7 x64 virtual machine

I have a number of virtual machines running Windows 7 64bit on my network.
They are set up on a server running VMWare ESXi 5.1.0. Their users access them from Windows 7 desktops via Remote Desktop.

The overall performance of the Virtual Machines is fine, except when browsing the web using Internet explorer 11. (Firefox and Chrome are better, but not by much).
The user experiences uneven scrolling (looks like low FPS), delayed responses to input, new tabs take 1~2 seconds to open and closing the browser sometimes takes a few seconds after you click the 'X'. Firefox also experiences the uneven scrolling and delay in opening new tabs, Chrome just has the uneven scrolling.

None of these issues occur when viewing the virtual machine through the VMware vSphere console.

This is a fresh install of both the operating system and browsers (installed on 2013-11-22). Everything is up-to-date and all browsers still have their default settings.

Running browser benchmark tests like Peacekeeper (http://peacekeeper.futuremark.com/) shows a notable difference in performance between browsers running natively on a desktop, through the vSphere console and through RDP.

Does anyone know what could be causing this and/or how it could be remedied?

IE 11 Does not load pages and "Stops Responding" After 11/26/2013 Windows Update

0

I have Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. IE 11. (Doesn't matter if I try to open 32 or 64 bit IE)

I keep Automatic Updates on and they install as soon as they are available.

Everything on my PC was running fine 11/25/13.

I came to it 11/26/13 after Windows Updates ran and now whenever I open any webpages, it does not load the web page 100%, no hyperlinks can be clicked on and once you attempt to click on anything. I get the "IE 11 has stopped responding" bubble.

It also seemed to affect Firefox which does not completely load pages either.

Any shove in the correct way to help solve this would be helpful.

Problem with Page set-up with Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 7

I have upgraded from IE10 to IE11.  I have not changed Page Setup in any way, so my current settings are as follows:

Page size:       A4
All Margins:    19.05 millimetres
Shrink to Fit:   Enabled
Header:          Title       Empty      Page # of Total Pages
Footer:            URL       Empty      Date and Time (in long format)

The upgrade to IE11 is causing printing problems.

With IE10, the footer used to display the URL of the web page.  With IE10, the footer shows the location of a temporary file on my computer.

So when I print this page, the URL appears as file:///C:/USERS/[User name]/AppData/Local/Temp/Low/XRP72PG2..., instead of "http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/newthread?category..."

The location of the temporary file on my computer is totally useless.  Is there any way of reverting to the previous printer format?

Footnote causes text to overlap when saved as html

I added a footnote to my document, it looks ok in words.

But after i saved it as HTML and view it in IE9, the line of text that has the footnote overlaps with the next line of text.

Has anyone encountered this before?

Manage Java Running In IE8?

0
0

We have a set a GPO that restricts Java from running in the browser unless the site is in the Trusted Sites zone.

This "mostly" works, but sometimes Java on the workstation fails to be detected by the website even if the domain in the address bar is in the Trusted Sites zone.

Is adding the site *.domain.com enough or a blanket wildcard for every URL on a domain or do we need both *.domain.com and https://*.domain.com?

Since sometimes images and other content in a website come from domains other than the domain that shows in the address bar, maybe Java is trying to run from another domain also?  Is there any way to tell if Java is trying to be accessed by a domain that is different than the domain that is showing in the address bar so we add the correct domains to the Trusted Sites Zone?  Is there a log or some other way to see which domain is trying to access Java on the workstation when Java fails to run on a trusted site due to this IE restriction policy?

Internet Explorer display blank page

0

Hi all,

I have IE10 x64 and Win 7 x64 + SP1, but my IE cannot open any page. I mean, when I type any URL in IE, loads and then display an blank page to me. The title is blank, the page is blank. All the other application that use a embedded explorer control also displays nothing.

  • Click settings icon: The "About Internet Explorer" is gray. Many other menus are gray (such as "Print" and "Save as").
  • Right click on the blank page,  no context menu displayed.
  • Tried to run IE without extension, the issue.
  • disabled GPU rendering won't fix the issue.
  • uninstall then re-install won't fix the issue.
  • run "sfc /scannow", say nothing goes wrong.
  • Google chrome works properly.

UPDATE:

Press alt to call out menu bars, most of the menu items doesn't work, except those in the View menu. (View source doesn't work, either.)

ENVIRONMENT:

IE version: 10.0.9200

Windows 7 (6.1 build 7601 Service Pack 1)

Display Card: nVidia GTS 450

Blank page

UPDATE: Uninstalled IE 10, IE 9 still displaying blank pages. It might be something wrong with the system. Ho can tell me how to fix?

UPDATE2: Do iediagcmd.exe then regsvr32 on some dlls, then re-install IE 10, now menus are recovered, local files can be properly displayed on IE if launched with. But if I start IE then tried to load pages, not working; loading a remote HTML page is still broken.

Internet Exporer 11: Disable search from address bar (entirely)

0

When we try to use internal websites (sites like hostname.some.subdomain.com:NNNN/some/path/ ) internet explorer 11 shows autocomplete entries for previous visits to those websites, but, when selected, it then searches bing for those URLs, and that makes very little sense to do.

it's an address bar. it's where addresses are typed in. I don't want internal website addresses (frankly, any website addresses) to turn into a bing search. I don't search from the address bar. Ever. In previous versions I could disable that, and in this version that option seems to have been replaced with "go directly if a single word is typed in [intranet site like "home" or "intranet" or "sharepoint", etc.] ", but that doesn't disable the search feature enough to avoid still continuing to search when internal websites are entered/selected in the address bar.

Is there some other place to disable the search, so that addresses typed into the address bar work?

How can I restore IE 10 after 11 installs?

0

Hello all,

Internet Explorer 11 automatically installed on my computer and now I'm having trouble logging into several sites (notably my online bank site and eBay).  I want to go back to IE 10 or even 9 but haven't found a way to do that.  So far I've tried:

  1. Turning IE 11 off (since you can't uninstall it)
  2. Tried to install IE 10 but it says it's already installed (the same goes for IE 9)
  3. Tried to find the .exe file for 9 or 10 (since it's still installed) but every iexplore.exe opens IE 11 and no other.
  4. My last resort will be to do a complete computer restore to an earlier date before IE 11 was installed.  But I hate to do that.

The error I get on eBay is "If you are seeing this page, your browser settings prevent you for automatically redirecting to a new URL."   I can log in fine with Google Chrome but get nowhere with IE 11.  I’ve tried to find the settings that prevent a page from redirecting but can find nothing, plus IE 11 is totally different from previous versions so have to figure out where the settings even are.

Can anyone offer any suggestions or tips to help me get back to an earlier version of Internet Explorer?  I’m really frustrated with IE all together now and if there is no solution, I’ll just stay with Google Chrome.

Thanks,

Marcine

inetcpl.cpl will not update to IE10 version on Server 2008 R2

0

Good morning,

We have some 2008 R2 terminal servers that seem to retain the GUI from the legacy inetcpl.cpl. Therefore the setings prescribed in the GPO created with the IE10 (Windows8) admx template will not apply. Specifically the inetcpl.cpl -> Security -> Local Intranet -> Sites button opens the legacy GUI associated with IE8.

Regards,

Mike

IE 10 + 11 Group Policy Settings for Proxy Servers

0
0

I've got Windows 2003 and 2008 R2 Domain controllers. I understand to control IE 10 and 11 now I need to update the admin templates. I've downloaded the IE template download for 2008 and installed the msi on the 2008 server.

If I go into group policy I can see the hundreds of IE settings under Windows Components \ Internet Explorer but I cannot see anywhere that I can set the Proxy settings.

We use a web filter so I need to ensure all our clients go through this, as per with IE 9 etc. Am I missing something here, I cannot find the proxy settings. Can anyone direct to me?

Thanks
