Adding Content Advisor to Internet Explorer 11, No "Content Page" folder in Group policy editor

$

I want to use Content Advisor in Internet Explorer 11. I have found a few post that say to use Local Group Policy Editor. However "Content Page" folder does not exist. I have checked the following locations:

Computer Configuration>Administrative Templates>Windows Components>Internet Explorer>Internet Control Panel>

User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Internet Explorer -> Internet Control Panel ->

Internet Control Panel has only two folders "security page" and "advanced page". The "Content Page" folder does not exist.

IE 11 Glitches

I've read through the other glitch questions that have been asked. I have noticed at least two specific things about IE 11 that haven't been discussed or covered......

One - When I am in my webmail, both Comcast and RoadRunner, when I click the "Check All" box (to select all emails), nothing happens.

I usually open Firefox at this point, and it allows me to Check All by clicking the box.

Two - When I login to the BofA commercial card site, I get a message indicating their system may not be compatible with the browser. I login in anyway, and most everything works fine, until at one point I'm accessing one of their internal date choice menus, and nothing happens.

I usually open Firefox at this point, and it allows me to access that menu.

Both glitches were fully functioning in IE prior to the upgrade to 11.

Please advise.

Thanks, Michelle

Whether I share a OneDrive link from Home OneDrive or Business OneDrive the users continually receive the following error:

This page can’t be displayed

Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 in Advanced settings and try connecting to OneDrive . com   again. If this error persists, it is possible that this site uses an unsupported protocol or cipher suite such as RC4 (link for the details), which is not considered secure. Please contact your site administrator.

And we have followed all the steps given by MS online advice and nothing resolves the issue?  Can any one help?

I am running my applet application on JBoss which extract JRE version using deployJava.js

It works fine when I run it with localhost but as soon as I map it with some other domain name it fails. but when I add my domain name in trusted sites or minimize the security from Medium-High security to medium security level it starts working fine.

This was not the case till IE 10 but it starts giving problem in IE11 only.

Is there any way to automatically add my domain name to trusted sites. Please help.

Thanks,

Enterprise Mode without FQDN.

Hello all.

I'm having an issue with the Enterprise Mode Site List not working if the URL is not a FQDN.

Does the list support local names (http://<host> versus <a href="http://.<domain>.com">http://<host>.<domain>.com)?

I know to leave the protocol off in the list.

Thank you in advance for any insight into this.

Group Policy to set "Open Links from other programs in: A new window"

Hello all!

I've been struggling with this a bit.  We are pushing IE 11 and would like to set the option under Internet options -> General -> Tabs, called "Open Links from other programs in" to "A new window" using Group Policy.

There is a group policy setting under User Configuration -> Admin Templates -> Windows Components -> Internet Explorer, called "Prevent configuration of how windows open".  This looks like the right setting, but I set that, and I can verify through the RSOP console that it applied, but the setting in IE does not change.

Can you help me with this?  I'm really stumped.

If you know how to make the change using the registry I'm also open to pushing that out VIA logon script.  Please let me know that solution too if you know it.

Thank you!
James

Can no longer open CHM files across the local network after installing CU for Windows 1709 for x64 Systems (KB4103727)

$

We had previously used a group policy preference to set the following registry value, which allows the opening of CHM or Windows Help files from network paths.  We also place the network paths in the Local Intranet zone in IE, although it should automatically detect it as local anyway.

SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp\1.x\ItssRestrictions\MaxAllowedZone (DWORD) = 1

This works perfectly for all of our users, until we install KB4103727.  After this we get a, "Can't reach this page error" from our CHM files.

I double checked the registry and the Local Intranet zone in IE and everything looks like it should.

I have a correctly configured pac file on server (http://localhost:12345/nc.pac). Chrome and Firefox work fine with it. IE 11 and Edge are ignoring PAC. Any idea? Thanks.

Registry settings:

AutoDetect - 1

EnableAutoproxyResultCache - 0

EnableLegacyAutoProxyFeatures - 1

EnableNegotiate - 1

EMC ApplicationXtender 7_0 add-on not loading in IE11

$

We are running Windows 7 Professional, IE 11 and we installed EMC ApllicationXtender 7.0 and IE does not recognize it as an add-on. On one laptop (Laptop is configured the same as the other workstations) it is showing. All machines have .net 4.7.1 installed and is up-to-date.

The error we get when trying to access the page that requires the add-on is below. But the IRCViewer700.ocx file does not load in IE11 Add-ons (On the laptop that is working it does). I have done extensive research and testing and modifying the IE active x settings and even used regsrv.exe to make it register and still it doe not appear. We have even opened/ allowed active x to run/ install freely. The ones it is working for get UAC prompts to have the ocx file install and IE recognizes.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Launch Edge in a new window from the command line

Hi,

How do users open a NEW instance of Microsoft Edge from the command line, batch file or a desktop short cut?

We do NOT want edge to open any new tab's, ever.

<<path to edge>> http://bing.com
<<path to edge>> http://stackoverflow.com

This would result in two edge windows being opened.

We know the path to edge but we always get a second tab opened in a single window, this is not what we want.

No mouse or keyboard actions please, this is a launch command.

Simple task for all other browsers but I cannot find the answer.

Thank you in advance.

Rich.
