I my application, when click on link it opens a url using navigateToURl("someurl", somefixedCustomname). In IE8 and 9 its opens either in new window or tab(depends on tab settings), when click the link again for two or three times its reloads the page in same window or tab, which is as expected(according to call made above), but in IE 11 , on first click its opens a new window or tab(depends of tab settings), on second click its opens another new window or tab(which is not expected), and on third click onwards it reloads the second window or tab. how to control this behaviour, I want only one window or tab to be opened for the same, it should reload the content on the same window or tab on every other click. Kindly respond . I am stuck with this issue and couldn't find a solution.

IE11 resets local intranet registry keys on launch
We have deployed IE11 via IEAK and have a proxy set which currently set to return direct for all sites. This means IE is seeing all external sites in the intranet zone due to the setting 'include all sites that bypass the proxy server' being enabled. If I manually untick this then everything works as all external sites are in the internet zone and the setting is permanent.
However, I need to deploy this setting site wide and the group policy "Windows Components/Internet Explorer/Internet Control Panel/Security Page - Intranet Sites: Include all sites that bypass the proxy server" (both computer and user) set to disable only greys out the box unticked but does not actually move external sites into the internet zone.
I've tried using GPP to delete the registry key HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Proxybypass which does work but as soon as I re-launch IE the setting is written back with the value 1 and it is back in the wrong state again.
Using process monitor I can see it is iexplore.exe that sets this key back to 1 on launch and when I manually untick the box all it does it delete the Proxybypass key and nothing else. Has anyone seen this before and managed to work around it? Iframe not loading after installing Update KB3154070
Hi All,
We have an application that mostly deals with iframes (loads the different pages within the application on demand).
Recently, the IE browser got updated with KB3154070(Current IE Version: 11.0.9600.18314) as part of the system updates. After that update, majority of the functionality is breaking completely. It effected all the pages that use iframes. The content is not loading and resulting in a blank page. The request appears to be aborted when inspected in the network panel as shown in the below screen capture.

We have performed the following troubleshooting
- We made sure that all iframe tags are close properly.
- The src of the iframe is not empty.
- If we access the same page outside (without loading into iframe), it works fine. But, the problem is with only within iframe.
As a quick workaround to this problem, we have asked our users to roll back the update. But, this is not the expected solution.

Internet Explorer 11 - did not finish installing.
Hi all Microsoft expert,
I am upgrading Internet Explorer to version 11 for approximately 200 computers.
There are approximately 10 computer unable to be upgraded Internet Explorer 11.
The error message is "Internet Explorer did not finish installing."
It happen on Windows 7 64 bit.
Need advise from expert what can be done to solve this problem.

Can't delete favorites from IE 10 - Windows 8
Yesterday out of the blue some old pages from my favorites list reappeared. I deleted these in the past and now they just showed up. When I right click on them to delete them or go to organize favorites to delete them, they delete for a few seconds, but then reappear. I try again and again, but they just keep coming back. The "favorites bar" in my favorites list does the same thing. I have also gone to users/profile/favorites to try and delete them and they just come back.
I've run multiple scans with my antivirus software and spybot software, but it didn't fix it.
Anyone know how to fix this or know what the problem could be? I am not a tech guy, just an average joe, but can get around windows decently.

IE 11 always waiting for SharePoint Online
At seemingly random times throughout the day, some of our users will be unable to access OneDrive or SharePoint with IE 11. It just continuously shows a white screen and "Waiting on <tenant>.sharepoint.com". I've let it wait for 15 minutes and it never errors. I can go to Exchange Online fine, but OneDrive and SharePoint both just sit there spinning. When I click About Me, it also hangs. This issue only affects IE and the only way I've found to resolve it is by rebooting the computer. When IE is hanging, Firefox and Chrome successfully open to the site without issues. Sometimes it happens once a day. Other days it happens multiple times.
I've done a network trace with the F12 Debugging Tools, and IE never gets past the initial request for the page. I've tried running "iexplore.exe -extoff" without succcess. I've tried troubleshooting with Office 365, but they directed me here.

Can you install Internet Explorer 11 on Server 2008 Standard x64?
Was looking to see if this was possible. I see it for 2008 R2 but not server 2008 standard or x64. Just wondering if this can be done. We have a situation where it needs to be installed on some servers but they are older.
I have not tried to install IE 11 on server 2008 yet. I can try but didn't want to cause an issue if it wasn't going to work.

Microsoft Edge accessing Windows Explorer = Did you mean to switch apps? - Can this be removed
Dear Support,
I have an in-house web application that accesses Windows network locations, using something like this:
<a href: file://<file-location>>Click here</a>
The internal website is added to Trusted Sites, with security settings to allow the application to open folders/files within our network.
On Windows 10, although this still works fine in Internet Explorer (without any messages), Edge prompts the user to confirm the irritating Did you mean to switch apps? message.
Can this be removed/overwritten/anything?!

ContentType = false does not set automaticlly contentType to Multipart/form-Data
Hi,
In order to upload file to server with JQuery, we need to set the contentType to "False" so that the browser will automatically encode it and add the boundary.
but I noticed that in the header request, the contentType is missing , instead of : multipart/form-data;Boundary=--------XXXXXX

Enabling Enterprise Mode - IE11
Dear,
I have enabled enterprise mode IE11 through group policy & registry setting. I need assistance to enable permanently without user action required each time. Following issue is being faced:-
- Unable to select enterprise mode from tools menu, option is there
- I select mode through f12 > developer tools > emulation, it works fine
- But once close developer option window, Enterprise mode also closes
- Will it be possible or i need to write some code in my application to force enterprise mode (some geek)
- I am running windows server 2008R2 environment and customized application compatible with IE8 document mode require to be open in IE
Help required to enable Enterprise mode permanently. Lot of googling already carried out.

Windows Update not working - Internet Explorer newly installed June 2016
Reinstalled operating system using Vista Ultimate. After Service Pack 2 is installed, I am no longer able to get Windows Updates. Internet Explorer 9 was installed June 2016. Is there a fix to this problem? Thanks.

"Class not registered" opening pdf file in Chrome
I am running Windows 10 on a Surface Pro 3. My default browser is Google Chrome. I used to be able to open a pdf file by right-clicking its file name in File Explorer, and selecting
Open with > Google Chrome
but now I get the error
"Class not registered"
Pdf files open fine in Chrome if I do it through a web link (http://...), or even if I use a file link (file:///C:/Users/...).

Enterprise Mode on Windows 10 not aplying
Hi,
I was trying to configure the Enterprise Mode here in my organizaton.
What I did:
- Downloaded and installed the Enterprise Mode Site List Manager 5.1 (v2 Schema)on my Windows 10 Pro client (last build 10586.420)
- Added some local sites to it and exported to a XML file
- Copied the XML file to the Netlogon folder
- Created a new test GPO and enabled the "Allow users to activate and use Enterprise Mode" and "Use this list of sites on Enterprise Mode" policies and set the path to the XML file (it isn't the correct translation of them, Brazilian Portuguese here)
- Applied that GPO on the UO where my machine is
- Executed the gpupdate /force command
- Tried to open one of those sites on Microsoft Edge and it opened the local site normally... It wasn't supposed to show the "This must be opened on Internet Explorer" warning? (once again, not the correct translation of the message)
- Went to the registry and both keys were applied correctly ('enabled' and where the XML file is)
- Tried adding www.aol.com just to try
- In the about:compat on Microsoft Edge no sites are showing in theEnterprise Mode Site List
I thought it was my machine, so I created a new VM with Windows 10 and tried again... same thing.
Is there a way to troubleshoot this?
Updated: Checked that on IE11 the Enterprise Mode Site List shows the sites added on the XML file correctly. Edge still doesn't.

Hi,
I am facing very strange issue, we have Windows 2012 (Non R2) and on server i am not able to open any http site in IE, however https sites are opening, however https://login.microsoftonline.com is not opening even after it is https site. we tried in chrome but same issue.
1. IE Version is 10.
2. https://google.co.in is opening
3. As per chrome error it is timeout.
4. Checked with and without Firewall in OS
5. As per Security team everything is fine
6. Able to telnet all these sites on 443.
Please suggest to troubleshoot further.

Removing "Diagnose Connection Problem" Button on IE
Hi
If there any settings or registry to remove this button every time when IE is not connected in the internet? I working on a terminal lockdown and I having a problem in my LAN settings every time they press this button on IE. It seems every time they click it, it resets my LAN configuration from static IP to Auto DHCP and I do not want that happen on my lockdown.

Need to remove "Diagnose Connection Problems" button from IE9
The "Diagnose Connection Problems" button in IE9 is causing issues for us, and I need to disable or remove it. We have kiosks running Windows 7 Pro, and they are locked down with software that restricts user access to just Internet Explorer 9. The kiosk connects to a wireless network, using a pre-configured static IP address. The problem is, if there is a network outage that leaves the wifi up, but no Internet access, the first web page that fails to load presents the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" page, along with the "Diagnose Connection Problems". If the user clicks this button, then Windows Network Diagnostics wizard begins to run. Under these conditions, this wizard determines that the problem is that DHCP is not in use, and helpfully offers to remove the static IP settings and enable DHCP. As there is no DHCP for this network, and the kiosk is locked down to only allow access to IE, it is effectively dead until someone from IT can physically access the system.
I have tested and verified that, under these same circumstances (wifi is up, WAN is down, static IP configured) the Diagnose Connection Problems button will clear the static IP settings. I need some means of removing or disabling this button. Prior to IE9, it was listed as an addon that could be disabled, but that seems to no longer be the case. Any help is appreciated.

Hello all,
Can someone please advise what the 'IS' on the end of a IE11 version number means? The version i see is 'Version: 11.0.9600.17959IS', on another PC I see the version as 'Version: 11.0.9600.17959', what is the difference?
