IE 11 renames files. For instance, .exe files become _exe, .zip become _zip. This is happening on Win 7 Ultimate-64-bit, Win 7 Pro 64-bit, and Win 8.1 Update.

This interferes with my ability to get updates to my Visual Studio and many other programming tools.

IE 11 won't even support the Akami system used by MS.

As far as I know all the security settings are set to allow downloads. Windows Firewall is configured to tell me when it blocks a program.

I read an earlier blog post from the IE Team that says this problem is due to some sites being creative!?!

The latest Firefox has no issues downloading.

I have my local intranet domain added IE 11 compatibility view. now there is intranet site in FQDN has domain name and has a pre-req of not being opened in compatibility mode.

How to exclude this particular site from compatibility mode.

Internet Explorer stops working when I click the icon on the taskbar. It never gets online.

I have a form that I need to print on one page. Here's my current CSS:

The page is printed via window.print() when a button is clicked.

This works in every browser I've tried, except IE (currently running IE 11.  In IE, the Zoom 
shrinks the form so it fits on one page width wise, but it inserts a pagebreak where it would 
normally put it if I didn't use the Zoom. I also loose the centering of the text at the top.
I've tried using height and page-break-inside: avoid parameters, but no luck.  Any help in 
solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Has there been any update regarding the loss of search engine management that KB2988414 forced on us??? Simply put I cannot manage changing the search engine in WIN7x64 ENT images without them being changed back. I have tried the IEAK, GP, AutoUnattend.xml, assorted scripts, assorted reg settings all with no success.

I'm using IE11 on an HP ZBook 15 G2 which has built-in Intel HD 4600 and NVidia quadro k2100m graphics. The OS is windows 7 enterprise 64 bit. I've tried configuring ie11 to run using the intel and the NVidia graphics, but it didn't make any difference. I've also tried numerous versions of intel and NVidia driver versions and there was no difference. There has been a full OS reinstallation along the way and that didn't make any difference either, so I'm assuming this is a problem with IE11.

The problem is that the display area within the window freezes, eve though the IE11 process seems to be operating. I assume that because if I refresh the tab, I can see the address bar update. I can also see the task manager thumbnail update. Occasionally, if I suspend and resume the computer, the problem goes away, but usually, I just kill all of the IE11 processes and reopen them. This is very annoying and I'm wondering if there is a fix.

It's becoming widely known that Microsoft, in its infinitesimal wisdom, recently "enhanced" the IE Gallery, which used to hold dozens of useful add-ons. Now many favorites such as Map with Google Maps and Translate with Google Translate are gone. And on top of that, the buttons to provide feedback are broken (They return javascript:void(0);).

Really, if I didn't know better, I would think Microsoft was trying to intentionally antagonize its users, but I think even Microsoft isn't that dense. Surely this must be a mistake. If someone from Microsoft who actually gives a sh*t about the users is reading this, please tell whomever that is responsible for this screw up to fix it.

We have IE11 package created and it worked on all  but a couple of systems.

 The IE11_main.log on the systems that are failing , anyone has suggestions on what we i can do to fix the issue for these couple of machines.

i'm having problem problem with upgrading IE9 to IE11 on our 100 Windows 7 x64 Polish version virtual machines. All these machines were deployed from one image i believe. They have limited internet access.

All prerequisite updates from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2847882 are installed, but still installation fails:



In IE11_main.log you can find  ERROR:   Neutral package installation failed (exit code = 0x00000002 (2)).

Googled it, but hadn't found any working solution.

As you can see, there is dism error 0x80070002. Googled it, nothing works.


Futhermore, i cannot even manually uninstall IE9 from updates, maybe this is the culprit?

Uninstalling IE9 via this cmd also doesn't work:

I migrated all the workstations in my network to Internet Explorer 11, I have an application running on JAVA 8 update 60.

Every time a user lunch the application a JAVA pop ups are displayed asking to execute.....

I updated JAVA to the latest versions 8 update 77, nothing change.

I Want to know if they anyway to solve, this issue: GPO, or any others means

There's an entry for Internet explorer within Applications and Services Logs in the Event Viewer, but the log is empty.

I tried to enable the logging through the registry and the "Enable logging" checkbox in in the event viewer properties is checked and greyed out.

How can I enable the IE logging?

I have a RDS Environment. Session Hosts, Collection Brokers, Web servers and Gateway servers are all Windows 2012 R2. GPO are used to lockdown and configure the uses sessions and desktops. This is a terminal server deployment, not a virtualized desktop deployment. Users' profile are stored via profile disks. The browser used in this environment is IE 11, not Edge.

When an end users downloads a pdf file, they receive two prompt in succession. The first asks: "Do you want to save 'PDF file name' from 'website url'?". This first prompt has a 'Save' button and an 'Cancel' button. It does not have an 'Open' button. The website url is in the Trusted security zone for IE 11. If the users click the 'Save' button, the second  prompt states: "The 'PDF file name' download has completed." This second prompt has an 'Open' button, 'Open folder' button and 'View downloads' button.

When an Admin downloads a PDF, they receive only one prompt. It asks: "Do you want to open or save 'PDF file name' from 'website url'?". This prompt has three butons: 'Open', 'Save', and Cancel.

What configuration or configurations are set in GPOs to cause this double prompts?

My goal is to have all users have only one prompt with three buttons, like the admin users.

I am having problems to update a partner Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.18097. When I try to update, I am said that it's the last version, but it is not true since I have 11.0.9600.18282. I need to update because there is a bug with jquery libraries. With my version the problem is solved. Is there any way to force de update? I have already tried with windows update and IE website.
