I installed the latest windows 10 update and now IE will not open. I immediately get an error message. I tried turning in off and back on without success and rebooted numerous times with no result. Edge appears to work okay. Is there a fix for this?

Hi,

When i try to open MS PowerPoint file from Internet using IE11, i always get error message not enough memory or systen resources. After clicking ok and waiting few seconds file opens correctly. Saving file from the net works but when trying to just open, error message comes.

There is no errors when using Firefox or Chrome but only when using IE11.

Windows version or Office version is not the reason. I have tried using Win7 and Win10 and also Office 2013 and 2016. Same thing also happens from different web sites

Any idea why this happens?

Randomly receive 'page cannot be displayed' when browsing on IE 11

Hi,

All users in the office every so often when browsing, experience 'page cannot be displayed' message on Internet Explorer 11. Internet is working in the office as they are able to send and receive emails, I have also seen this occur on a few other clients.

Typical example is when browsing to www.outlook.com, the client cannot get to the webpage at all and it is the same for all users.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

another confusing enterprise mode thing

my enterprise mode list xml is in \\domain\netlogon. it has worked relatively consistently for a while.

I have an internal site called http://imagingqa, with a page calledhttp://imagingqa/documentimport.

the main site needs to be in enterprise mode, the documentimport page needs to be in edge mode. previously, both needed to be in enterprise mode.

my first attempt to achieve the new requirement was

<domain exclude="false">imagingqa<path exclude="true">/documentimport</path></domain>

but that didn't do it.

so I added

<docMode><domain>imagingqa<path docMode="edge">/documentimport</path></domain></docMode>

and everything worked as desired. that was a few months ago.

today, they asked me to do the same thing for http://imagingUA/documentimport.

so I went into the xml, copied and pasted both "imagingqa" lines, changed "qa" to "ua", and incremented the file version number.

1. if I open the new xml in the enterprise mode sites list manager gui, both the imagingga/documentimport and imagingua/documentimport show that they are set up exactly how I want them - the main site in "ie8 enterprise mode," and documentimport in "ie11 document mode."

2. in the registry on the clients, the EnterprisMode/Currentversion number is the correct new version number. buthttp://imagingua/documentimport is still opening in enterprise mode (the QA version is still correctly opening in 'edge' mode, and Enterprise mode is greyed out under Tools so that I can't manually turn it on.)

everything is set up the exact same for both QA and UA sites, and the clients are seeing the new file version, but they are not respecting the UA setup. what am I missing?

We are having a very weird issue. If you visit a site like www.511.org in the middle of their home page you should see a live map of traffic in your area.   On some of our Internet Explorer 11 machines you see this map and on others you don't.   So I figured it was a GPO setting.  Well the same thing happens on Chrome web browsers.   most Chrome browsers go towww.511.org and they Don't see the live map.  We have absolutely no GPO's in place that deal with Chrome.

I've confirmed that our GPO's apply to IE 8,9,10&11.

All of our GPO's that deal with IE are USER settings.

I've used my own ID to log into many different machines, on some I see the map and on some I don't.

Using my ID I've logged into different machines that use Chrome and sometimes I see the map and sometimes I don't.

It is not just 511.org either.   it is many many sites.   I've even added these sites to the Trusted Site list and it still does not fix the issue.

what is causing this behavior on both IE and Chrome?   Thank you.

I have ads playing in the background of my PC. In the task manager there is a process named noad steep tv. If I try to end it, it just reappears after a few minutes. My antivirus doesn’t find anything. Should I use another one? I have Avast free now.

Emulation problem

I work for an agency that uses a public safety program that only works with IE8/9, which support for these browsers is being dropped. The county we are based in is "supporting" this program from a major vendor that apparently sees no need to get it updated to support IE11. I started messing around with running the program in IE11 through various methods. I first tried Enterprise Mode, but that will not work with files that are on the local drive. I ended up adding a meta tag to all of the HTML files that renders the pages in IE emulation mode. When clicking an event button it pulls current data from county servers and populates a table, you can then click on an event for more information. The second time you click an event button the table is shrunk down to about half the width of the browser window and clicking an event results in an error. Close the program then reopen and it works initially again, then error the second time. This never happens when running in IE 8 or 9, only when using IE11 in emulation mode. I suspect there is an issue with how JavaScript is being handled but don't know for sure. If you specify running IE9 emulation for example, does that mean HTML and JavaScript are handled exactly the same as that version of the browser? Anybody have any other ideas on emulation? We are kind of stuck in a bad place with this as multiple municipalities all rely on this. Thanks

IE11 not updating enterprise sites list after adding new sites

I setup a GPO that uses a global sites list for enterprise mode for our domain.  The first time we all launched IE it went and got the list and everything looks good.  Since then I've added 3 extra sites to the enterprise sites list, but none of the clients seem like they are re-checking the list to see if its been updated because the new sites I added aren't showing up in enterprise mode, only the original ones I first added.  If I open the sites list it shows the xml version is still 1 but the rules version is 4.  I read online the browser doesn't check for a new sites list until 65 seconds after its been open, but its been like 7 hours and it still hasn't updated.  Anything I could check?  Thanks

***EDIT***

I checked the registry entry for the enterprise mode and it shows the correct version number as 4.  I cleared my temporary internet files and it finally went out and got a new one.  But I don't want my users to have to clear their cache any time the site list is updated.  Anyone know a solution to this?

Is there a memory limit in IE11?

We would like to know if there is some property that defines a maximum memory limit in IE11. If so, can we modify this property or somehow tell IE to use more memory?

Thanks

IE11_main.log display I the following message when deploying IE11 on W7 Pro (x64) with SCCM :

Could it be really a OS version issue ?

I've been hunting high and low for info on how to manage Cookie control for IE11 via group policy / group policy preferences but am struggling to find much that helps.

I would like to add a "per site privacy action" as per the sites button on the privacy tab but cannot find a way to do so in Group Policy.

Any suggestions most welcome

Question about ASLR bypass fix

Hello,

Does anyone know if the latest Cumulative Security Update for IE (KB3124275) fixes the ASLR issue that was found in December?  Or do I still need to apply the fix?  I looked at the KB article and all of the links and did not see anything about it.  So I assume that I will still need to apply the fix but we all know what assuming does for us.

Here is the link for the ASLR fix:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3125869

Thanks for any help.

Issues with Internet Explorer 10 and Windows 7

I have Windows 7 and just upgraded to Internet Explorer 10. IE crashes IMMEDIATELY upon launch. What can I do to fix this??

I need to run IE 10 in 32-bit mode on 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise N.

I need to run IE 10 in 32-bit mode on 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise N.

When I run IE 10 from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer" I
can see in task manager that I have only one process "iexplorer.exe" and
no process "iexplorer.exe *32".

I have an application with an ActiveX that is supported only on 32-bit, and the application can't be loaded on 64-bit mode.

Is there a way I can force IE10 to run in 32-bit mode?

Hi, I’m new to TechNet so sorry if ive followed procedure!

I’ve just setup 15 Windows 10 PC's in a new ICT at a Primary School. I’m trying to roll out software via ninite.com to save time but I’m getting the above error. Like others if install a different web browser like Chrome its fine. I’ve tried resetting IE 11 back to default and I’ve played around with the TSL and SSL settings under advanced till I’m blue in the face. I run light speed Rocket as my web-filter and I have no issues on any other OP or devices within school that i am aware of.  Issue but be with IE and how it sees specific sites.

Any advice would be appreciated.

IE11 Enterprise Mode site list not working

$

I've configured the Enterprise Mode site list as directed in the following article

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn640696.aspx

and set up the gpo to point to my site.  I've confirmed in my site's logs that the xml file is accessible.

However, it isn't working; none of the sites are launching in enterprise mode.  I notice that the CurrentVersion key in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\EnterpriseMode has remained at 1 and is not updating.  I'm assuming that is the problem, but I can't figure out why it won't update.

Any advice?

Enterprise mode, how do I specify server port in SiteList?

Hi,

I have a old CRM system that must be run in Enterprise mode (it will be upgraded soon). The sitelist works fine through group policy, however the CRM is running on port :5555 how do I specify in the sitelist so the Enterprise mode start also on this port?

I have added the site to xml file but site list manager removes port number from url. The sites.xml file looks like this:

<rules version="9">
  <emie>
  <domain exclude="false">crm<path exclude="false">/company</path></domain>
  </emie>
</rules>

Now if I visit the site http://crm (which only contain IIS splash page), enterprise mode is enabled. However if I visit the real site on port 5555: http://crm:5555/ Enterprise mode is NOT on.

How can I make sitelist to force IE11 in enterprise mode on a different/specified port (or all ports) for a domain?
